Mama says yes! Apparently this restaurant is under new management, so if you kinda didn't like it before, you should give it another try. The exterior is misleading as it is a beautiful place on the inside. The service was friendly and the food was impeccably presented and prepared. So, in a feminist view, I had to laugh because the server always addressed my husband, even when he brought the bill. I understand it's a cultural difference for me and in the vein of inclusion, I respected the actions. Mind you, I control the household money and I usually do the ordering because as long as it has rice, my husband says yes! Anyway we had a wonderful array of dishes and nothing disappointed. Running late and arriving 10 mins before they closed for the afternoon, we ordered extremely quickly. We were the only table in the restaurant butI could tell we just missed their lunch rush because they were cleaning everything and bussing tables etc. My sister is vegan and Indian so I let her order. (She also is extremely picky about her food and it being prepared correctly vegan.) We choose the garlic naan, butter chicken but with tofu I believe it was called (maybe paneer tikka?), and came with lots of rice. Let me tell you that it came out extremely hot, fresh, and perfectly amazingly delicious! Not sure if it was because we came while they were preparing for the dinner rush or whatever other reason, but for my friend who's had the best Indian cuisine made all over the world and as picky about her food as they come, to be as satisfied and over the moon about this food speaks volumes to me!! We both couldn't stop raving about how delicious it was!! I got extra naan to take back to our suite and it was as delicious the next day as it was when we ordered it. We were in the mood for Indian after the beach and stopped here. Everything was EXCELLENT. We went in for dinner and it was all totally delicious. Literally "finger-lickin' good." Customer service was excellent. The waiter was very attentive to us, friendly, and helpful. He suggested a particular dessert to us and it was awesome. RAW CHICKEN!!!! I do not recommend this place for even animals. Ordered the tandoori platter and had a piece of shrimp that was dry but at least cooked. Went onto the lamb and was also dry but also cooked. But then the chicken came and the drum was completely raw under the skin. Unassuming on the outside, but magical when we tasted the food at home. I ordered shahi paneer, Punjabi Paneer Bhurji, Navratan Korma, naan and Kashmiri naan. All vegetarian dishes as my wife is vegetarian and all ordered at the mild heat (I'm a fire eater but my wife can tolerate only mild heat). We didn't know what to expect but this place just surprised us as our new favorite Indian place. We have tried the other 2 restaurants and they were quite good but the offerings here at Nirvana were slightly different. Being non-Indian, the nuances are lost on us but I suspect that this is probably northern Indian food. The Kashmiri naan was fantastic! Shahi paneer was a close approximation of Paneer Maakhani which is my wife's favorite. We enjoyed our dinner so much that I'm writing this right after we finished eating. Found our new go-to Indian restaurant. Saw many dishes that we would like to try. We loved it!!! read more

We were in Myrtle beach July 4th weekend. Decided to have Indian food. We ordered just 4 items :) I went to pick it up around 830pm (close at 9 pm). I waited for 15mins and got my order. When I opened the food I only see two items.. serious out of 4 items.. Got Naan and Paneer dish (it's different paneer dish they made and gave me. I called the restaurant but it's too late they closed.. So I called Yelp and they reimbursed money for two missing items. The person kept one of the lady waiting for 15 mins for nothing her order was right there and he is just looking at us.. She had to ask few times.. Crazy.. and left from there and the person is expecting tips I guess.. :). I gave one star because the Garlic was good. that's it. read more

I was visiting Myrtle for some beach time and on our last day, we were craving for some good Indian food. With good rating, and close proximity from our Airbnb, we went to Nirvana but boy it has disappointed me big time. The manager was so rude, no smile, no friendliness- when asked about parking he said there is one on the back but we kept circling in rounds since the restaurant has only 4 parking spots in front clearly labeled. I can even bypass that but the food disappointed me- ordered biryani but seems like the chef doesn't know how to make biryani- too spicy, no meat pieces but 4 small ones, mostly bones and onions. My family and I were excited to try this place. We had it all planned out. We decided to walk the distance from our hotel to work up an appetite and use the walk back to work off all the food. Unfortunately that did not happen. Instead we arrived to a buffet with only chicken dish options (which we were willing to deal with because it smelled good) and one dessert. The reason I gave this place one (1) star was because the food was cold. Not refrigerator cold but room temperature cold. Upon informing the gentlemen working that the rice and chicken were cold they said it's warm on the bottom. There is steam coming from the bar. We tried explaining that the steam table was hot and the pans holding the food may be warm but the food itself was not. The kicker for us was the gentleman sticking his finger in the rice to verify it's temperature. At this point we were done. I told the children to leave what they had put on their plate, we were leaving. I will not eat cold food that is meant to be hot and touching my food with your hands is a "NO". The one positive about this spot was the naan bread. It was the only thing that came out hot. The one or two bites I had before trying my food was good. Places have one chance to make a lasting expression and this place did just that- NEGATIVE!! read more

I'm being generous when giving this place 2 stars. Let's just say it took 30 mins for someone to bring us water and 45 mins to put our order in. We went during the 4th of July weekend and they were just very unprepared for such a big holiday weekend. The place was pretty packed and you could see everyone was waiting around for their food. So as you can guess, the service was awful. However, if the food was good, we would not have minded. Yet the food was awful too. Everything sorta tasted the same and many of the chicken dishes were drenched in sauce yet the chicken itself was not seasoned. Imagine brand, saltless chicken thrown in some sauce. We were here this past Saturday evening after the marathon and were pleasantly pleased with the food. My friend ordered Aloo Gobhi and I ordered Paneer Tikki Masala. We also had chili garlic naan and a couple drinks. The hostess and waitress Nishi was such a delight answering all of our questions and being very attentive but not over bearing. We would have given them five stars but there was a gentlemen (we cannot recall his name) that was quite exasperating. He kept coming over to take away our dishes before we were even done (multiple times). It seemed that every time we took a break to have conversation he would come over and try to take it even though we told him multiple times we were not finished. It was ok. Seems to be exactly the same Indian resturaunt that used to occupy the space. We went for dinner and I had the butter chicken and my friend had tikka marsala. We were very disappointed in the portion size, just as we were with the previous restaurant. I had 5 cubes of chicken and my friend had 6. It seemed like we each got half of a chicken breast. The taste was just ok. We also had the garlic naan and that was amazing. Service was friendly. Interior of the restaurant seemed old and worn down. The booth next to us had a big slice on the back. Looked like they may have a lunch buffett in the back which would be worth the price. All in all it was just ok, but I probably won't be returning. read more

We searched for an Indian restaurant while on vacation in Myrtle Beach. Nirvana didn't have a lot of reviews so we were a little skeptical but soon learned they have only been open 3 weeks. Everyone who was working was super friendly, and everything was very clean. The food was delicious with great flavor. We probably ordered way too much but you have to understand we have to drive 2 hours and to another state to get what we consider to be great Indian food. We ordered: Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Saagwala, Aloo Gobhi and Baingan Bharta. When we arrived they gave us complimentary Papaddum with their Tamarind Sauce.
