It's not the biggest place for a big party of 5 but they were able to seat us as soon as they could with minimal wait time for a full house. This place is very busy. Go early so you don't need to wait in line! They offer many different type of ramen. The black garlic paste is so delicious and addictive. I love Yokohama style ramen the most. I also like tonkotsu ramen. I need to go back and try all of their ramen. We always got takoyaki or squid karaage. Another ramen shop in Phoenix? I had to try.... only after I reached my goal in diet. Despite of arriving here around 4pm, they were quite busy. We ordered miso ramen and tonkotsu Black. Tonkotsu Black was served with typical hakata ramen (thin) noodles. It is very easy to over cook this type of noodles. They did okay, but I would have preferred more texture, less cooking time. Miso on the other hand uses regular egg noodles and this one was cooked perfectly. Black has enough garlic in it but broth was a bit weak for my liking. Miso had good flavor, I would order miso next time or try Shio or Syoyu. Gyoza was cooked well but well I prefer to eat my gyoza with simple soy sauce and vinegar, with a small drop of hot oil. They use something else for dipping sauce. Too bad as their gyoza was cooked just right. Service was a bit of questionable side. I was confused who was our server and the one came often was just okay. I guess they are short-staffed or not used to handling large crowds. I like some of their cute decors from Ghibli movies. I just had to order the Nishikawa Black special which has the right portion of food for one person. I was blown away with how good the pork broth tasted. It's guaranteed to warm the soul. Nishikawa ramen place seats about 30 people. We were there Saturday for lunch but managed to get a table. There's a fast turnover on tables so not a very long wait time. They offer traditional ramen dishes and appetizers. All their ramen comes with straight white noodles or the curly yellow noodles. The curly ones had more of a bite and chewiness. We ordered the Yokohama, curry and Nishikawa ramen and they were all delicious, each very different from the other. I liked the fact that they gave option of either soft or hard boiled eggs and extra add-ins. Their ika karage was delicious. It started off by having a strong ocean smell but it had nice chewiness and seasoning to it. It was cooked perfectly. Their chicken karage was equally tasty so it was perfect for my son who doesn't enjoy seafood. Overall, very pleasant place to grab some ramen. During the COVID-19 pandemic: Wow! Randomly came here after finishing a vacation trip in Arizona with a group of friends. We were all craving some sort of broth and stumbled upon this little gem! They followed protocol: distance, separated clean pens from dirty ones, and were very clean overall! Now to the soup, the Shio ramen was really good. The Tonkatsu Ramen Bowl consist of Pork broth, pork chashu, green onion, kikurage, seasoned egg, fish powder, sesame served with straight noodles and a hard-boiled egg. Very good ramen bowl with a nice tasting broth which is about the most important thing about the ramen to me. The Pork Gyozas are made up of pork and veggies served with ponzu sauce. Love how they make one side crisp and just perfectly cooked. I've been to the Chandler location once and have been wanting to come back, but it's a far drive so I haven't had the chance to and now I don't have to anymore. Wooo! This is a hard review to write because it was not the food that lowered my updated review, but 2 star service that pulled down 5 star food. I will start by saying that the Tonkotsu ramen is perfection and I order it every single time I go or I regret it! The hot spicy level isn't too much to handle and really helps the flavors shine. We also enjoy the spring rolls and the karaage is good if you like chicken thigh. What I didn't like was our experience ordering... I am not easily offput, but let me describe the scene and you judge aita. When we walked in, we were offered the choice of two tables; we didn't notice until later that the table was not clean and had food/broth spilled on it from whoever had eaten there before. Gross. We sat close to the register and apparently it was simpler for the waitress to repeat our order (item by item mind you, not all at once) over our heads to the person standing at the POS... It took maybe 10 minutes for this ordeal to be over; obviously it would've been faster to write it down (or memorize it idc) and enter it in the POS directly. It was awkward and my order was not correct - I added corn but that didn't translate in this game of telephone. The food arrived, incorrectly but speedily, and I was not 2 bites into my ramen when we had the bill placed on the table. You can say "no rush" all you want, but when my bill arrived faster than it took to order, I was at that point feeling rushed to eat and leave. Really, I was surprised by the lack of service this visit... maybe it was a fluke? However, compared to other ramen places outside of Arizona, it is only an okay ramen place. The broth flavor did seem salty but it did have deep flavoring for both Tonkotsu and soy sauce flavored. However, the charsiu is a little too thin for my taste. Out of the appetizers we ordered, chicken karaage was the best, it was filled with flavor! This place has the best ramen in the area, but I'm not sure what has happened as of late. I'm genuinely confused. Phone line won't work so you can't make a pickup order, you can't order from Uber eats or Postmates??? And my experience in the restaurant for dine in was awful: We were here a month ago and there was a sign out front saying they were out of almost every protein (okay fine, we still wanted ramen) So we ordered two bowls of ramen with extra toppings (and we made sure not to order anything out of stock). It took so long we had to pack it up. When we got home, we found out that NONE of our extra toppings were included but we still got charged.
