Great food and atmosphere for a night out with the family or friends. The quality of the fish is always consistent. If you're looking for a restaurant that has delicious yakitori AND sushi AND Japanese cuisine, this is it. Service is always kind and speedy. However give more time for yakitori. Cavin, the owner, always greets each table and is so personable. The whole staff here is so attentive, friendly and professional. The yakitori always comes out piping hot and tasty. They give you a generous portion of their yakitori sauce. My favorite is the chicken skin, it's so crispy and delicious. The sashimi is always fresh. I love the thick cuts they serve on a plate of ice. I like that I can take my time to enjoy the sashimi during my meal. Lastly, the ube mochi dessert is amazing. It's soft, chewy, and if you're lucky to get a crispy end piece, there's a nice crunch with the chewiness. No 1 Kazoku is located on Valley adjacent to Life Plaza and across from the Hilton SGV hotel. Plenty of street parking or in the back lot. Bon Appétit my friends

Freshest sushi served here and they have some yakitori options! Beef tongue skewer here is good and paired with a yuzu sauce. Chirashi bowl was filled with buttery and fresh fish. Their spicy tuna shrimp tempura roll was presented beautifully and would order again. Squid legs were a great appetizer to share.

Went here for some dinner. Food was great very clean and delicious! The service was great as well. Only I do want to mention drinks no refill. But other than that I think this place is good. Parking is in the back or street parking. Place is a bit hidden but I definitely recommend 626 area friends to come check out the place! Owner is also very nice too!

Honestly pretty good sushi for an option open til later. Only thing I didn't like was their bland wasabi. There was a lot of fish in the rolls which was a plus. The inside was decently sized and service was good.

Very pleasantly surprised with this sushi spot. We enjoyed everything and will definitely be back for more. Price, quality and quantity were great!

I saw that they had a Happy Hour menu on their website so decided to come with some friends to be happy. Too bad that happiness didn't last as we were told Happy Hour was not offered when we arrived. This was frustrating as I confirmed with them on their IG and they said they offered HH. I showed them the message and they claimed that AI replied to me... not them? So, I then proceeded to reply back to IG and of course I never got a message back but I can see they read my message.

I came here on a Sunday lunch and the vibes are great if you want to hang out with a small group of friends or on a easy, casual date. It's not too loud so you can hear your friends. The lunch menu is more limited compared to the dinner menu. I got the Chirashi Regular which came with 8 fat cuts of sashimi, 2 sweet eggs, 1 piece of fried chicken, masago, and seaweed salad all on top of a bed of sushi rice. I loved the sashimi, they were generous cuts. The fish didn't taste as fresh as I would've liked and the fried chicken piece wasn't crispy. The restaurant was clean and the staff were nice and accommodating.

This place has the freshest sushi I have ever had in the area! Service is top notch here too I love the little booths they have against the wall & the private rooms too! Gives authentic Japanese vibes :)

This sushi spot is located across the San Gabriel Hilton Hotel. The manager welcomed us in and explained the menu specials to us. We ordered 3 sushi rolls and their most popular clam skewer. They're all delicious and priced fairly for the quality of the food and service. Each roll has large pieces of fish and is super filling. This place is good for large groups. They have a huge tv inside for people to watch sports. I saw they're doing a Super Bowl 2024 special.

I absolutely love coming here. Having dinner here after work with my girl friend. The manager (Cavin) here is super friendly and treats all customers like close friends. Just the customer service itself is worth the trip. Of course the food is bomb as well. Definitely my to go to when I'm free in San Gabriel Valley after a long day at work!

The first time I came here was on a Sunday night, and I was very pleased. Would have given 4/5 stars! But my latest visit on a Saturday night brought the review down to 3/5. Here's why... Yakitori- Gizzard and beef tongue- both were very chewy and not juicy! Ankimo appetizer- this was probably the driest and most firm ankimo I've had. The cucumber slices were thick, with one piece under each ankimo chunk. They should have been thinly sliced, which would have soaked up the ponzu dressing. What saved this review was the sashimi.... Salmon, sweet shrimp, yellowtail sashimi- these were good and the slices were decent in size. The fish/shrimp were also very fresh. Corkage fee $30 Service 5/5 :)

"Kazoku means family, and family means nobody gets left behind" - Suticchi-san. This definitely deserves the title and name as the No 1 Kazoku (family) that leaves nobody behind. Their food quality and service is top notch. I would recommend: Squid Legs, Yellowtail Sushi, Yellowtail Collar, and Pork Belly Skewers (takes almost half an hour). I got their Tokyo fried rice a second time as well, and this time it was surprisingly very bland. But the flavor was still very good. I guess the salt got left behind. Great place.

My friend and I came here for our first time through a recommendation and it was SO delicious! Definitely an underrated sushi spot. We got omakase and each plate that came out was very tasteful and had a nice presentation. My favorite was the ocean trout sushi! You can tell their sushi is very fresh. The manager, owner, and servers were all very nice and attentive. Always made sure we were taken care of! Overall, I had a great first experience and I'll definitely be back hehe

Yama Sushi Marketplace is a small…read moreshop that is always packed with locals looking to satisfy their sushi cravings, and after my first visit, I can definitely see why. The store offers an impressive selection of Japanese goodies, including ramen, condiments, fresh sashimi, and a wide variety of sushi rolls. There are so many options and combinations to choose from. If you are looking for sashimi, head to the back of the store where they have conveniently packaged fish sold by the pound, and they will happily slice it for you. Or, if you are in a hurry, you can grab their freshly made sushi rolls from the refrigerators. On my visit, I picked up ahi tuna, salmon, and yellowtail sashimi, along with California rolls and tuna rolls. Every piece of fish was incredibly fresh with a buttery texture and amazing flavor. The quality of the fish and the perfectly seasoned sushi rice were so good that I barely needed any soy sauce or wasabi. I only recently discovered this hidden gem, but it has already become a place I will be visiting regularly. The sushi is high quality, reasonably priced, and absolutely delicious. If you are a sushi lover, Yama Sushi Marketplace is definitely worth checking out!

I came around 5pm when I figured most people stop by after work or for dinner but I've been to the other two locations during similar rush-hour periods and they were well stocked with a wide variety. So I think that's the only downside to this location, their limited space. BUT that doesn't take away from the quality or flavor of the sush! I picked up an assortment of tuna, salmon, and mixed rolls. All were fresh and delicious with great rice and good fish portions! I brought these for a party and everyone loved it! Yama is still the go-to spot for "market" sushi!

So when the craving spikes, I trudge my way downhill to grab some takeout. Having been here twice now, I can confidently say that their sashimi is on par, if not better, than most sushi restaurants within their price range. It blows Sushistop out of the water and I looooove Sushistop. But when I'm in the mood for sashimi, I defer to O Sushi. Parking: The only issue with O Sushi is that it shares a tiny parking lot with several other businesses. During normal business hours, it may be quite a hassle to park in the lot. However, there's plenty of parking in the neighborhood and a quick brisk walk is all you need. Luckily, I crave sashimi at night and I live close. Neither issues affect me. Ambiance: Very traditional Japanese sushi restaurant. Japanese regalia are hung above the sushi bar and behind it stand the experts of their craft. The entire place can seat probably 30 people before it's maxed. That's very Japanese. Staff is always friendly and quick. I call in an order and pick it up after my short walk.
