This restaurant is so good ! The fish is so fresh. We got the uni which came in the shell and it was buttery and soft. The sweet shrimp was still moving! They fry the head which was crunchy. The Kobe tongue was so tender and flavorful. The bluefin trio was also good. They have lunch special which I want to try next time. They use seasonal high quality fish. The ambience is nice. This is worth visiting !

A solid spot! The inside has good amount of seating which a large menu. Came on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't too busy. Ordered the sushi and sashimi set which was good. The fish didn't have a fishy taste and was a decent sized cut. I was super full by the end of it. I do wish they could name the type of fish that was given since I was guessing for some of them.

Surviving the SoCal heat wave ? Treat yourself to some high-quality Japanese food to cool down!!! We treated ourselves to an amazing spread at Opus Sushi -highly recommend the live raw shrimp (yes, the head was still moving ), super fresh! Oyster with uni and ikura -- all those luxurious ingredients together Sushi and sashimi set loved the presentation and top-tier quality Also loved their specialty rolls, including the whatever roll and Kobe beef roll -something you don't see everywhere! My friend and I came here around 2pm for lunch and there was only one other party. By the time we left, the crowd started to come in. It's a very spacious space with many booths, table, and bar seating. We both ordered the chirashi and it was filling and lots of large pieces of sushi, with the variations of spicy tuna and spicy something else! It was nice to have that variety. We were both very full.

I was invited to try Opus Sushi in Arcadia, and it absolutely delivered. They specialize in sea urchin (uni), and you can truly taste the quality and freshness in every bite. We tried the yellowtail jalapeño, salmon carpaccio, live sweet shrimp, Kobe beef tongue, cherry stone clams, multiple rolls, including the Kobe Beef Roll and the fun "Whatever Roll," plus yakitori and shrimp miso soup to finish. The cocktails were also impressive; the yuzu margarita and passion fruit highball were perfect for a date night vibe. If you're looking for a Valentine's Day sushi spot in Arcadia or just one of the best sashimi experiences in the San Gabriel Valley, Opus Sushi is worth the visit.

I loved the quality of the sashimi and raw seafood from Opus Sushi. The best thing for me was the lobster sashimi. I had never had it prepped the way it was, in its shell. The meat was so sweet, soft, umami, and melted in your mouth. It was perfect with a touch of lemon. Another thing I really loved were their cherry stone clams. We got a half dozen of those and a half of their Kumamoto oysters and it was a perfect dozen. I liked the garnishes they prepped them with and they tasted so clean. The Kobe beef roll was the best roll we ordered! The sear of the beef on top was delicious and I couldn't stop going for more. They also have yakitori which I don't think should be slept on. The lamb chop was so tender and came on the bone which I went crazy on (lol). We also got sweet shrimp, gizzard, wings, and Kobe beef yakitori skewers and they were all so fun to share. The blue crab and uni bowl ($26) was worth it and so was their deluxe mix sashimi ($49) as well as the uni, scallop, and amaebi bowl ($68). They came with rice and seaweed sheets so you can make your own rolls and I loved that you have that option!! Overall, amazing sushi spot for fresh sashimi and seafood.

Best Sushi Spot in the SGV!! Opus Sushi is a well-regarded Japanese restaurant in Arcadia, CA!! A true gem in the San Gabriel Valley!! They deliver exceptional quality and beautifully presented sushi and sashimi. If you're a uni lover, this place is a must! They specialize in sea urchin and offer a wide variety of dishes like a Toro & Uni Bowl, Uni Pasta, yakitori and Kobe beef tongue. The Cherry Stone oysters has radish, green onion and ponzu sauce. The uni + ikura oysters are creamy, briny with that perfect pop! The Halibut Carpaccio is delicate and clean. The Toro Uni Bowl is a make-your-own hand rolls, which is creamy and rich. The live Pacific lobster sashimi is incredibly fresh and sweet. The deluxe mix sashimi came with pristine cuts and the Chilean sea bass is perfectly charred and tender. The Mexican Roll and Sunset Roll are delicious. From the first bite to the last... absolutely unforgettable.

Admittedly checked this place out because it's on InKind. Went to try various sushi dishes and their lunch specials, including the yellowtail and chirashi bowl. Considering the inkind component, decent value. If it's not for inkind, not sure what I would think about this place. I enjoyed the shrimp tempura handroll... everything else was forgettable. I wouldn't rush to go back, but it's a good option to consider

Sashimi Platter- this was absolutely incredible with such a huge variety of fish! Every piece was cut thick and perfectly, and you could immediately taste how fresh everything was. The selection included multiple types of tuna, yellowtail, salmon, and several other fish I hadn't tried before. Each piece had this buttery texture that just melted in your mouth. The presentation was beautiful too, and you could see the quality and care that went into preparing each piece. The fish had that perfect sashimi texture - firm but tender, with no fishy taste whatsoever. Udon- the noodles were perfectly chewy with that ideal texture. The broth was rich and flavorful, and you could taste how much time went into making it from scratch. Such a comforting dish that paired really well with all the sashimi. Grilled Miso Seabass with Sashimi- this was so good! The seabass was perfectly grilled with that amazing miso glaze that was sweet and savory. The fish was flaky and tender, and the miso added this incredible depth of flavor. Having it paired with fresh sashimi was such a nice contrast between cooked and raw preparations. Clam Sashimi- this was my first time trying clam sashimi and it was amazing! The clam was so sweet and had this perfect briny flavor from the ocean. The fish roe on top added this incredible pop of saltiness and texture that complemented the clam perfectly. Such a unique and delicious combination. Live Sweet Shrimp- these were incredibly fresh and sweet! You could taste how recently they were caught. The texture was perfect - firm but tender, and the natural sweetness of the shrimp really came through. Toro Uni Bowl- this was so rich and flavorful! It was really fun to DIY it into little hand rolls with the nori they provided. The toro was buttery and melted in your mouth, while the uni added this creamy, oceanic flavor. Making your own hand rolls made it interactive and even more enjoyable. Wild Aji- this was delicious! The aji had this clean, fresh flavor that was different from the other fish. You could really taste the quality and freshness. Mexican Roll- this fusion roll was surprisingly delicious! The flavors worked so well together and showed their creativity with traditional sushi ingredients. The sushi rolls here are very flavorful and well-balanced. What I love about this place is how much they focus on fresh ingredients. The owner mentioned that she goes to Santa Monica every morning to stock up on the freshest fish possible, which you can definitely taste in every bite. They even have weekend specials based on what's freshest that day, which shows their commitment to quality. This Japanese restaurant really stands out for their dedication to freshness and quality. Every piece of fish was outstanding, and you can tell they take pride in sourcing the best ingredients possible! Instagram: @hungrytamale

Best Sushi Spot in SGV? It's not fancy spot, it's simple with main focus is to deliver to customer, a bite of freshness and creativity, imo Opus Sushi is one of the best spots that will not only keep your tastebuds happy but your bank account as well. This spots has all of your favorite cuts of fish and shellfish from ltuna, yellowtail, salmon, uni, sweet shrimp and the list goes on. Their pricing for lunch and dinner are spectacular. For example you can get an impressive mixed 6 piece sashimi and teriyaki chicken set for $19 for lunch or $25 for dinner. One last thing, their uni pasta is absolutely heaven on earth because they use linguini and not udon or ramen noodles! I recommend 10/10! They also got full on bar serving up drinks like Mojito, Bloody Mary and fun Martinis! Lots of free parking. Great service and simply a yummy spot to eat at .

    Lan L.

Opus Sushi is a standout find! This unassuming spot in a Arcadia plaza delivers an incredible meal. The Sashimi Set was stunningly fresh, and the Deluxe Chirashi Bowl was a beautiful collection of the day's best catches. The standout was the unforgettable Toro & Uni Bowl--so flavorful we wanted another. The yakitori (get the chicken knee and gizzard!) is perfectly grilled. Service is attentive, and the atmosphere is cozy. It's clear the chef prioritizes quality, sourcing fish daily. For its caliber, the price point is very fair. This has instantly become a favorite. Definitely making a return trip soon

YellowTail & Uni Sushi! I could do w/o the rice as it sucked and brought the sushi down.

Been coming here for years and more recently as so many sushi places in Arcadia now. Opus is our go to at least for lunch - can't beat their lunch set. We dine here more frequently since Oto-Oto in Monrovia closed down as I often order Chirashi as my go to so I typically compare those: Quality (freshness and cut) Value (price to portion) Wait time & speed Ambiance/comfort Service & attentiveness For all of the above 5 stars!

Tried out Opus Sushi and overall the food quality was good and fresh. A few pieces leaned a little salty, but I really liked that they serve some less common fish you don't usually find at most sushi spots--definitely a tasty highlight. We sat at the sushi bar expecting to order directly from the chef, but noticed others were placing orders through the staff instead. Service felt just okay. When we asked our waitress a question, a waiter suddenly jumped in to answer, and later he even delivered food from behind us--passing plates over our shoulders instead of setting them down at the side, which was awkward. Dinner was for two, and the vibe was interesting with shelves full of sake and whiskey bottles as décor. Solid sushi, but service could use some polishing.

I've had this place bookmarked a while so it was the perfect time to try it. It was not so busy for a Tuesday night. There is plenty of seating, bar seating and the place looked super clean. I wasn't sure what the special dishes were so I ordered the Premium Blue Fin Tuna and Negitoro Bowl, Premium Chirashi Dinner and an order of halibut and salmon. Our favorites was the Blue Fin Tuna and Negitoro Bowl. The tuna paired with the rice as soooo good. I was in absolute heaven. I love tuna and negitoro and this dish did not disappoint! The Chirashi dinner was decent. It had a little of everything which was nice. The fish were not too thick which was nice and the rice was flavorful. The dinners both came with a salad and miso soup which were both pretty good starters. The halbut and salmon nigiri pieces were also really good. :) Overall, the vibes inside were nice and the service was great. Parking is easy since there is a big lot out front and this place is tucked away in a plaza. I will definitely be back :) ALSO, I thought the prices were quite decent for the quality of the food!!

Apparently my Yelp backlog is now longer than the waitlist at some restaurants…read more This dinner happened last week. Better late than never. This visit was a first for both of us. My daughter actually found Mikomi on Yelp and suggested we give it a try. She definitely picked a good one. We started with the Sushi Combo 2 ($50), which included ten pieces of premium sushi: - Hotate (Scallop) - Halibut - Madai - Uni - Blue Crab - Bluefin Tuna - Salmon Belly - Yellowtail Belly - Albacore - Amberjack Every piece looked beautiful on the plate, and the fish tasted incredibly fresh. The variety made it fun because each bite offered something a little different, from rich and buttery to light and delicate. One thing that immediately stood out was the presentation. The plating was exceptional, and every dish looked like it belonged in a food magazine. They were almost too pretty to eat... almost. My daughter insisted we order two Salmon Carpaccios ($23 each) because it's her absolute favorite. I can't really argue with that decision. The lightly seared salmon practically melts in your mouth, and the ponzu-based seasoning adds just enough brightness without overpowering the fish. We polished off both plates in no time. My personal favorite was the Amberjack Carpaccio ($25). If I had to pick one dish from the entire meal, this would be it. The amberjack was buttery, delicate, and refreshing, with a light citrusy dressing and fresh microgreens that complemented the fish instead of masking it. We also ordered the Seared Mackerel Battera ($20). I'm usually a fan of mackerel, and this didn't disappoint. The lightly seared top added a subtle smoky aroma, while the shiso leaf, bonito flakes, and chopped ginger balanced the richness beautifully. To finish dinner, my daughter picked out a macaron ($5) because apparently dessert is mandatory after sushi. And yes... I also ordered my usual cup of hot green tea. If you've been following my reviews, you've probably noticed by now that I order hot tea almost everywhere. It's become part of the ritual. Mikomi has a clean, modern Japanese aesthetic without feeling overly formal. The warm lighting, wood finishes, and comfortable seating create a relaxing atmosphere that's perfect for slowing down and enjoying a meal. Even though the restaurant was busy, it never felt loud or chaotic. Quality sushi certainly isn't inexpensive, but when the ingredients are this fresh and consistently prepared, it's money well spent. Price Breakdown Sushi Combo 2 - $50.00 Salmon Carpaccio ×2 - $23.00 each Amberjack Carpaccio - $25.00 Seared Mackerel Battera - $20.00 Macaron - $5.00 Hot Green Tea Total (including tax & 20% tip): Approximately $200 If you're looking for beautifully presented sushi made with fresh, high-quality fish in a relaxed atmosphere, Mikomi is definitely worth a visit. And to my daughter... thanks for finding this one. I think you've earned the right to pick our next sushi adventure too.

It was so good, that we ordered two! The only reason that I only gave it a four out of five stars is because the service was slow. All of our dishes, came out in time, but no drink refills were given and the server never came back to collect our check for payment. So we had to walk it up to them ourselves. For a small space, with three servers, it shouldn't be hard to attend to all the customers. The menu can be pricey, but food is delicious! Along with exceptional service, eating here is worth it.

The measly spoonful of cucumber/squash salad they give you on the side is honestly such a joke, they might as well not serve it. Miso soup was good. If I had to summarize in one word: gross. You can get the same meal at much better quality AND quantity at TK cafe just a 6min drive from here. Just go to TK, don't bother with this place.

One of the freshest--if not the best--sushi marketplaces in town! Yama Sushi Marketplace is a small…read moreshop that is always packed with locals looking to satisfy their sushi cravings, and after my first visit, I can definitely see why. The store offers an impressive selection of Japanese goodies, including ramen, condiments, fresh sashimi, and a wide variety of sushi rolls. There are so many options and combinations to choose from. If you are looking for sashimi, head to the back of the store where they have conveniently packaged fish sold by the pound, and they will happily slice it for you. Or, if you are in a hurry, you can grab their freshly made sushi rolls from the refrigerators. On my visit, I picked up ahi tuna, toro, salmon, and yellowtail sashimi, along with California rolls, tuna rolls, and salmon rolls. Every piece of fish was incredibly fresh with a buttery texture and amazing flavor. The quality of the fish and the perfectly seasoned sushi rice were so good that I barely needed any soy sauce or wasabi. I only recently discovered this hidden gem, but it has already become a place I will be visiting regularly. The sushi is high quality, reasonably priced, and absolutely delicious. If you are a sushi lover, Yama Sushi Marketplace is definitely worth checking out!

Eventually I found out a few friends of mine have also gone for years and made their suggestions. As I didn't know what to expect I figured I'd go one day, which I did. Actually, it was about 3 weeks ago. I had driven by it but never stopped by which is crazy. At first glance you'd think the business is still closed and waiting to be opened but you have to drive to the back of the parking lot to enter the establishment. I couldn't decide which sushi I wanted so I got a few. It's cute and small on the inside but it's easy to find what you need and it's easy to see what you'd like to buy the next time you go! I can't wait to go back. The only thing I didn't like was their spam musubi, but it's not the end of the world! The sushi is still something I'm going back for!
