Really delicious bagel sandwiches. I agree with all the other reviews about the service. It's weird. But I have always enjoyed the food, so that is what matters. Biggest issue that has been under addressed in these reviews is that they are CASH ONLY which is SUPER inconvenient. Update: Not minutes after writing this review I went there, hadn't been in a while. Dropped my review down a star. The staff is extra surly (cranky) today!! They did not have any V8 tomato juice in the drink fridge, and while I was there an unhappy customer brought their bagel sandwich back to the counter because they had not cut all the way through and she couldn't pull it apart. I usually go to Bagel Chateau in Madison but Noah's Bagels is directly on my way back from work and the lines are usually not as long as at Bagel Chateau. The service here is subpar. The people who work here are not friendly and we're very annoyed when I changed my order. Why did I change it? I ordered an egg and cheese and saw them microwaving this egg stuff in a plastic bowl! I'm sorry but this is New Jersey, you should properly fry your eggs or not offer it at all. Disgusting. The bagels are okay, nothing special. Reminds me of a chain like Bruegger's. The bagels are pretty good, although I would agree with Hillary M. that the service is a bit lacking. Let's just say... you don't get a hug with every order. It's a bit no nonsense, but I'm starting to think that's just the prevailing New Jersey attitude. Anyhow- I've only gotten bagels toasted with cream cheese or plain (to be prepared at home). The garlic and herb cream cheese was good and I've enjoyed all the kinds of bagels I've tried: whole wheat everything, sourdough, poppy seed 'bagel stick,' and egg. Although last time I went there, I ordered an egg bagel -there was one left in plain view- and after some moments of confusion and whispering, the egg bagel disappeared and they "were out." I have never been so disgusted, first time and last time customer. I ordered a Taylor ham egg and no cheese, I turned around got my drinks and while I was standing there she starts to put my sandwich together pulls taylor ham and eggs out of plastic container from the MICROWAVE. Today was the first and last time I will ever visit this place. First off the lady at the counter was nice but honestly that doesnt make up for the quality of food. The bagels are the best around. Their service is very efficient, which some can interpret as unfriendly, but I don't. Coffee is perfect everytime. It would appear that the root cause of many reviews is the complicated orders, so it's probably necessary to STICK TO THE BAGELS. Run away. The bagels are OK, but their sandwiches destroy how good the bagel itself is. I've been here twice, first time they asked me to repeat my order 3 times (bagel with tuna). How hard is it to remember a simple order, or better yet how hard is it to write it down? Not only that but they add carrots to their tuna (I'm allergic to carrots)I get onion or celery, but who the heck puts carrots in tuna salad? So thinking that was a one-off I went again today and got a bacon egg and cheese. The only saving grace was the green bagel because the sandwich make me sick. Microwaved egg with what appears to have day old bacon layered through their nasty, overcheesed egg (so you couldn't even pull the bacon out and eat it on its own). The cheese tasted grainy like the cheap processed kraft singles melted. I threw it out and decided to go hungry this morning instead. I live in Chatham and have been going to Noah's Bagels for the last 3 years. I have to say the bagels are good, but the service is HORRIBLE! I make this review after being serviced by everyone who works there many times over and it is the same bad service EVERYONE time. It's ashamed because we like their bagels, but I refused to go back and continue to give them my business. I hope many other people do the same and their business starts to suffer because of it. Stopped here today as I was passing through town... Ordered a Taylor ham egg and cheese and sausage egg and cheese on a bagel. Not sure why it took 15min to make these sandwiches, but it did. Ultimately it wasn't anything spectacular. The Taylor Ham was not cooked enough for my liking and the egg was scrambled with white cheese... Not your standard NJ Taylor Ham sandwich. I may have had a complicated order I guess... 1 toasted bagel with Taylor ham egg & cheese salt pepper ketchup, another bagel same way no egg and another bagel toasted with cream cheese... As I'm placing my order the employee stops and starts helping another costumer I guess with a much easier order. After 5/6 minutes he tells another employee to continue making my order. The bagels here great, they are boiled and baked. Nice shiny and chewy crust with a dense center. While the bagels are great, the store itself is average, with a few table where you can sit down and enjoy your bagel and a cup of coffee. Service is okay, maybe a little less sincere then one would hope but the place is usually really busy and I will settle for quick service. If you so choose, and get something other than just a toasted bagel with cream cheese or butter, you are entitled to a free side. These sides include potato salad, macaroni salad, and cole slaw. The cole slaw was pretty good, not great, but good. In terms of deli meats and bagels together, these sandwiches will set you back about 6-8 dollars, which include a plethora of pickles and some free side salads. Is it a plethora? Not really. Are the sides free? There is never a free lunch. Even if you don't know much in this world, a lot of answers to life's problems can be discovered while eating a bagel. Short answer: Best bagels in Morris County, possibly North Jersey. Not so hot for their warm sandwiches where they use a microwave. Where do I start with their bagels? I've had most of them, but my favorite is the whole wheat everything. I've been to all the other bagel places between Livingston, Madison, Chatham, New Providence and these are hands-down the best. A bit crunchy on the outside, fluffy on the inside but still meaty enough to be a bagel. Their sandwiches though are only ok. I tried a couple, even after standing online one day, seeing someone order an egg and cheese and horrified that the microwave was the main cooking device. I tried it anyway and while the bagel used was phenomenal, it wasn't good enough to fix what was going on between. Tip: Line gets long in the morning. The fact the bagels are best here is not news to anyone who lives in this area. On Saturdays, seems to get really bad between 8:00-8:30am. read more
