Listen. I love this bar because it's walking distance from my house. We come here all the time. BUT I went there tonight and ordered three drinks: a Ketel soda, Jameson ginger, and a Hendricks and tonic. And trust me, I'm an alcoholic, but these were not top shelf. We asked the bartender if they were what we asked for, and she assured us she'd poured from the respective bottles. I'm sure she thought what she was giving us was fine, but I have a suspicion they must have filled the bottles with low shelf, because these tasted like rubbing alcohol. (If you mix it well and I can't taste it, I don't really care. Do you. But this shit was noticeably gross.) It pains me to denounce one of my favorite bars, but get it together No Bar. read more

Everyone knows how hard North Hollywood has been trying to gentrify itself and create a new image with the whole NoHo thing. I used to live down Magnolia in Burbank and had driven by NoBar plenty times, but always assumed it was a seedy dingy bar. After actually going in I was very pleasantly surprised to find that I was wrong. This place rocks! There was plenty of room to sit and move around and the selections on the jukebox kept making me tap me foot, bob my head or sing along. Definately a great spot!!! read more

We've spent many drunken nights here playing pool and lounging around. The bartenders have always been super nice and laid back, I remember one night these two drunk girls came in with a pizza from Little Caesar's down the street and asked if they could eat it at the bar and the bartender was like "F*ck yeah!" Came here for a friends birthday party. The place has a really coo divey feel to it. They have multiple seating areas and a pool table in the back room. Near the entrance is the infamous jukebox where you can play music. They have a variety of selections and it costs a dollar for about 5 songs. The best part was the drink specials. When we arrived around 8 they still had the 2 for 1 drink special. . Can't beat that. Even after the special ended the drink prices were very reasonable and it doesn't hurt when the bartender has a heavy hand (made the drinks nice and strong ; ) . Great place for Happy Hour (everyday until 10PM). This is a low key spot with fun music and a nice ambiance. Not sure how anyone can call this place a dive bar. (The area it's in is a bit shady but only by Burbank standards.) It's just too nice in there. I have a feeling No Bar even looks nice with the lights on. Pretty good jukebox for not being one of those new-fangled downloading contraptions. Don't know about the mixed drinks since I basically drink Newcastle or Guinness. The weekends get a little crowded later in the evening and it can get a bit too-cool-for-school. These "dive" bar classifications are killing me! Apparently no ones ever been to a real DIVE bar but OK, if that's the category they're belonging to so be it. Perhaps its associated with the neighborhood but even that's come up since we were kids growing up in NoHo. So anyway. I like this bar! Good times!! Plus I once played the best pool of my life here. This place is good when it is not packed, so for example on a Monday or Tuesday night. This is because it is relatively small, and only has one pool table. I would avoid Friday or Saturday nights unless you're going strictly for drinks. It is all around pretty dark, and is separated into 3 mair areas: one larger room by the bar with seats, another one more closed off and equally as dark with an opening to another room with a pool table (way more lighting). There is also a juke box that plays 3 songs for a dollar, and drinks are moderately priced. Overall the atmosphere is a casual kick-back and relax dive bar. read more

I see the potential in this bar. But, I that is all I can see. The Valley is a place FILLED with dive bars. Usually you get some place really divey and fun. Or you get a place that is nice with a decent price with not much character. I think Nobar could be a good place but it is just an average place. Nothing out of the ordinary. My co-workers and I have been going here every Wednesday for the past 6 weeks or so. We like going on on Wednesdays and have been trying different bars in the NoHo / Toluca Lake area and we all seem to like this one best. The Happy Hour STARTS at 7! It's half price well drinks and beers tip 10. They don't have a kitchen but they allow you to bring in outside food and bring it in. Most of the time we just grab a few pizzas from Little Caesar's and go across the street to Poquito Mas. Just make sure you clean up after yourselves! We got scolded once cause the week before we left our pizza boxes there and they had to clean em up. They have 5 beers on tap (I think). The Tell Tale IPA is really good. Their well drinks are well drinks... not much to talk about there but they get the job done. The place itself is nice and the seating area is comfortable. We usually take up the back corner of the room and hang out. There is a pool table also if you want to do that. The jukebox has all kinds of music but the more popular the song the more expensive it gets. One night I left my tab open and came back the next night and they were super cool about it and didn't charge anything extra or anything like that. All in all, its a great dive bar! This bar sucks and watch out for the chick who they say is the manager I pay with a 100 dollar bill and I got 7 dollars back after having a drink that cost 13.00 she claimed that I give her a 20 I guess she thought I was too drunk to notice after complaining I got kicked out what a way to run a business when I told the security guards he give me the owners number who was at the other bar he has in Hollywood after talking to the security guard for a few minutes he mentioned this is not the first time she does that. read more

I love this bar. Its small, but cozy and mellow. The decor is nice and there is always a fair crowd of people relaxing inside. The bar tenders are friendly and drinks arent priced too bad. There is one pool table in the back corner that always seems to be taken, so just keep that in mind, if you go there to play pool you may have to wait. They also have a juke box which serves for the music in the place. I thought that was kind of lame. It had good music on it and all but I guess if I owned a bar I'd have music over speakers not a juke box. The place is super cool though and laid back. Its nice enough to wear some cute jeans, a sex top and high heels but not so night clubbish or over the top that you would feel the need to wear anything too sexy or dressy. While cheap, there's not a whole lot going on inside NoBar. Unlike other bars in the area, the seating arrangement is a little odd, so you're bound to be either looking at a stranger or sitting directly next to one, so there's not a lot of privacy or variety when it comes to sitting down. However, the crowd there is almost always cool. Laid back North Hollywood people with good tastes in music. The location is decent and the bartenders and bouncers are almost always in good spirits. Not the BEST bar in the area, but definitely worth a trip. read more

It's ok in a pinch, the happy hour prices are great. The one "hot" bartender is cool but the others are rude and pour weak & shitty drinks. I signed up with Yelp primarily to declare my fanhood for No Bar. Very cool place, nice interior, comfy seating, decent crowd, good music. The overall crowdedness is sort of hit-and-miss, but you very rarely have to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with fellow patrons, and there's rarely a long line at the bar. The bartenders are super nice, too. They began recognizing my group of people I go there with only after about the 3rd time we went. It's always good to have people remember you, as it creates a super welcoming environment. My only gripe is that the jukebox sometimes skips my songs. When I want to hear Suffragette City, then dammit I expect to hear Suffragette City. Overall, very good place. I'll be back next weekend. read more

Definitely a chill spot to kick it with some friends. Jukebox with a constantly changing music selection, and far from the normal club party bar kind of music. They got a pool table which is nice too. Guinness and Firestone Pale ale are the only things on tap but both are darn good, and they have a fine selection of whiskey, also a plus. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! Horrible I mean HORRIBLE service here. The so called "owner" is a complete jerk with no manners. If you like to relax with your last call drink this isn't the place for you. Last call is at 1:30 and they want you to chug for you to leave at 1:40. Music stops at last call as well. To top it off everyone that works here are very rude. The bouncer called me a fag for referring their bar as one I had been to in San Francisco. If you like being treated like dirt this is the place for you. Will definitely not go back to this place. My experience was a good one. I didn't have any run in with the bartender out bouncer like some of the other reviewers. I was impressed by the different varieties of Moscow mules that they served. I was still relatively new to that particular drink and theirs were very good. Before I talk about the awful service, let me mention the feces and vomit all over the restroom (that the staff ignored). So, I was overcharged. I ordered 1 $10 cocktail, two happy hour beers that were 2 for one and should have been $7 total, then another $6 beer. My tab was $42 when I closed out. The staff was so smug and condescending, and somehow couldn't believe that in 2 hours at a bar I had only consumed that much. Their speech, as they laughed into my sober face: "you know, so many people just lose track of how much they drink. But we'll give you your money back." Perhaps this works when their patrons are piss drunk and think that maybe they have miscalculated, but sober as I was, I knew this was not the case. In fact, I had been so hungover all day that I specifically had made a point to not drink a lot . They then refused to show me the line item record they had kept on my tab, and then proceeded to refund me $11, when it should have been $17. They were so smugly sure of themselves that they couldn't even stop to think for one moment that there was even a slight chance a mistake had been made on the part of the staff. I let the additional $6 I should have been refunded go, but wish I hadn't, since the staff then proceeded to talk to each other while conspicuously looking at me for the rest of the time I was there. I can't prove what their conversations entailed, but it didn't look promising that they were saying nice things about me. And, it gets better: I was at this bar for over 2 hours, and there was feces and vomit all over the men's restroom, and nothing was done about it. Multiple patrons told the bar staff about the situation, and they did absolutely nothing about it. A guy from our group walked in and almost threw up himself when he saw it. Moral of the story: go somewhere else where the bartenders aren't smug as f*ck and actually care about their establishment enough to do something about the diarrhea and vomit on the restroom floor/walls/sink. To top it all off? The cocktails are weak as sh*t. Stay home. read more
