I was only able to eat half of it- plenty leftovers. The bbq was very flavorful while also being good with their smoky-sweet sauce. I'm usually a vinegar based BBQ girl, but the sauce was VERY good! If it wasn't for the positive Yelp reviews, I don't think I would have stopped here. Even driving up the the restaurant/ meat shop I did a double take to make sure I was at the right place. I went in today expecting, based on the reviews I've read, to find a real down to home, local butcher. I saw a very limited stock of three different beef cuts, including what I suspect were sirloin, filet, and t-bone / porterhouse. They seemed to have a limited stock of bacon, which actually looked rather decent and the employees had decent knowledge of its origins. Those working the meat counter could not tell me where exactly their beef came from, beyond which state, nor what kind of pasture conditions there were for the cattle or if hormones were used. As I look at purchasing meat for human consumption, these are need to know facts before making a purchase and putting this product in my body. If they cannot be bothered to know, it tells me everything I need to know about what I'm dealing with. Never again. I'll make the trip to Cary for Whole Foods every time. read more

This business practices horrible customer service! When an order was placed for a specific cut and a large amount they informed that it was available. A large order was placed totaling just over $90. When we cooked a few of the cuts at home we could tell it was not the right cut at all. We contacted the owner and asked if it was in fact the cut we ordered and he said they do not sell that cut. We asked why he sold us something different than what he said was available. He became defensive and said that we didn't ask for the cut we wanted. Which we indeed did. His response was "Well I don't want your business then!" Stay clear of this place! They will lie, take your money and then be disrespectful! read more

Update to my review....What BBQ joint charges for BBQ sauce?!?! This one does...75 cents! (Although the owner says that in the future they'll only charge for BBQ sauce if the order is to go). That is ridiculous. So sad, because I used to really like this place. Oh and the last pulled pork plate I had, had a 2 inch long brunette hair in it. Tasty food, portions are ok for prices. $8 gets you a plate that includes a large roll, side of meat, two sides and a roll. My husband and I can share a plate and still have left overs. Vinegar based BBQ style. Pulled pork is my favorite. I have had the brisket tho and it is very moist, but I still prefer the pork. Try the new potatoes for a side. The other sides (green beans, baked beans, potato salad) are all pretty basic. The inside is lack-luster. Some VERY basic tables. Gets packed at lunch time on weekdays and not much seating. Everything is served on styrofoam and with plastic. Careful, if you aren't looking for this place, you'll miss it. The entrance is not on the street (Hwy 210). You have to turn onto Manchester to get in the very small, gravel parking lot. We were so glad to find this place not far from where we live (north of Spring Lake area). It is nice to not have to go into Fayetteville or Sanford for prepared food. We usually do take out but have eaten there a few times. read more

Oh my oh my oh my... went here from a recommendation from someone at work... and OH MY was it some good barbecue!!! And quite a bargain too... lots of sides to choose from... I've driven by this place many times and didn't know it was a restaurant until recently. Stopped by today and had the lunchtime pulled pork sandwich, chips, and Mac & cheese. The sandwich was delicious and was loaded with meat...good sauce too. I thought the chips were going to be homemade or something. Nope, just a bag of Lays...bad on me for not asking. Love this place. Staff is so friendly and so is the butcher. It's right down the road from our house and the meat is always a better quality than the Food Lion or Walmart near by. We've done everything from the catering, to the bulk meat packages, to just stopping by and getting some really nice filets for a Friday night. This is a must try for anyone who is craving their southern food fix. I will say that the last filet mignon we bought from here, I was able to eat the entire thing. There wasn't a single piece of hard to chew fat or tendons in the butchers cut. It was magical. The butcher shows you the product before he wraps it. Just go! See for yourself. read more
