Sapporo With Lunch Combo Of Avocado And Spinach Rolls
Steve A.

Checked out this long time favorite in Glenview. It's one of the best places around for sushi. Nobori is a pretty nondescript looking place, but don't let that fool you. Has better looking and tasting food. There's good ways to save including the combos at lunch. After finding out about this place we made sure to come in the next time being around here. It's a bit of a ways from the downtown area along Waukegan Road. This is located in a pretty boring looking strip mall, but the food wasn't boring though. It's about $17 for a Lunch Combo. The Roll Combo comes with a choice of 2 rolls. Lots to choose from. We got a couple vegetarian ones: the avocado and the spinach. Except for being kind of small, these had some excellent flavor. These were fresh and we got pretty good service. Better place to get sushi it seems than among the places around here. It has really good value at lunch. There's lots more to choose including ramen and whatever.

My daughter and I liked the food here the first time we tried the place. She ordered Spicy Tuna and Crunch California rolls, and I ordered the Shrimp Tempura entree and a Spider Roll. The rolls were delicious, the portion size and quality were great and I also liked my Tempura dish. Service was friendly but it was very slow. The place was packed and busy on a Friday night crowd and yet there was one server in the entire place. The owner was helping clear out some tables from time to time but he was busy at the kitchen counter as well. A couple of weeks later, we were craving for some Japanese food again so we decided to give Nobori Sushi another chance. This time, even on a Friday night, the place only had one table occupied and I knew that this is an effect of COVID '19. I ordered the Rainbow Roll w/ Shrimp Tempura and Turtle Roll while my daughter had the Pork Cutlet meal. All the dishes were delicious and since the place was practically empty, service was friendly, fast and efficient. I love supporting small business owners with great products and an equally awesome service. I will definitely go back here and I hope that the business comes through strong during this tough time.

We need to come here more often. We enjoy the atmosphere as well as the food. I forgot to take a picture of the tuna Tataki appetizer, it is our all time favorite.

Unagi don at lunch. Good portion and easy to share.

I've only been here for lunch. Although the food is pricy, we come here every few months because the food and service are great. Setting is very casual. You start with a warm towel to clean your hands. Ask for tea, it's good! Sometimes you have to flag down the person because the staff is small, but food prep is pretty quick. The lunch combos are reasonably priced and you get a decent amount of food. For most items you can pick a salad or miso soup to go with your meal. For people who don't want raw fish, you can get items like - teriyaki salmon - oyster teriyaki (battered and deep fries) - unagi (eel) don with rice and radish

Nobori is a low-key, well-priced Japanese restaurant. The lunch specials are great and the food comes out fast. The specials come with soup or salad, and your choice of a roll. I'm a fan of the futomaki because it has the perfect ratio of rice to condiments (e.g. avocado, tamago, cucumber...). On my visit, I ordered tuna without teriyaki sauce. The bean sprouts that come alongside the fish are tasty too: the right amount of sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Overall, good food, good service.

Chefs choiceSashimi Deluxe! Best quality sashimi on the north shore. Small space, excellent service, NOT noisy. Absolutely delicious.

Decent quality sushi. Ramen was good but udong could be better. Little bit on the pricey side, in my opinion.

I really like that you have a lot to choose from, and the included amount was decent. Like, you can pick up to five different toppings like edamame, pineapple, etc, up to three different proteins, toppings like tempura flakes, and different types of rice, including purple rice, which was great. I went with black rice, pineapple, masago, green onions, edamame, salmon, tuna, tofu, and some spicy sriracha. It was delicious. My son loved his poke bowl, but he did say he wished there was more rice. Overall, food was great, service was good, and the overall dining experience is worth a revisit. BATHROOM REVIEW: Located near the back, there is a men's and women's bathroom. In the men's, there is a urinal and a toilet. I always wondered whether to lock the door behind me in these situations. Well, I couldn't anyways, as the lock was broken. So I peed as quick as possible, to avoid being walked-in on. The toilet handle was hard to press but thankfully I got to the gym and it paid off here. Sit or squat? Squat.

I normally don't enjoy takeout sushi as it's one of the foods I find tastes best eaten where it's made. That said, I thought I'd give it a go and put in my order when I arrived to ensure everything was fresh. For food we ordered the gyoza, crispy spicy tuna, spicy tuna roll, spicy salmon roll, and shrimp tempura roll. All were good but my g favorites were crispy spicy tuna and spicy tuna roll. The rolls are also very large fyi! Would definitely go back as I'm curious to try their poke.

They've put the same level of attention and care into their selection of sakes. Service was warm and friendly, but never pushy or bothersome. They sent me a free dessert when they overheard my wife mention it was my birthday, it was a complete surprise. They also very thoughtfully asked if I'd like them to sing (I did not). That kind of thoughtful service reflects the comfortable, laid back atmosphere they've maintained, a welcome change over many high end sushi establishments that can be too stuffy. A few chewy seaweed pieces but I won't let that knock the freshness of the sushi. Service is where I have to drop a star. Not friendly, just pointed to the bar and told us to have a seat. When she came to take our order she didn't greet us or ask about anything besides "what would you like". We ordered 4 rolls which came out fairly quick...one at a time and the last two together. We then asked for 2 more rolled after flagging her down. She kept coughing which was a bit off putting. Assuming she was sick and maybe wasn't feeling well. Eeeeek. I'd go back as the place is close, cozy and quality of sushi was better than others in the area. I also like the options they had which were not the standard as we find around most places in this area. Usually they're similar rolls with different names.

The dining room is really pretty, and well-appointed! We were seated right away by friendly staff. Looking around, this appeared to be a very family-friendly establishment, as that was, by far, the most prominent type of connoisseur in the house on this evening! Our waitress was wonderful, and helped us with some recommendations upon us letting her know it was our first visit! She checked in with us frequently, and made sure drinks were always refilled promptly! We had a bunch of different items, and all were very good! We tried sushi rolls, beef noodles, and ramen. I'd have to say that the beef noodles probably were the best item for me! Prices were just about as you'd expect: not too high, but not super cheap either...but wholly justified by the great food and lovely service and experience! This is an adorable sushi/ramen restaurant that appears to be family owned. It's such a cute little space and I saw that it had a lunch menu that I definitely need to try out. I went with my family on a Monday night at around seven and there was only one other patron there. I don't think the word has gotten out yet, but this place is going to get packed when people see and taste the quality of the food. Our waiter was great and super polite. We had great service and our food was timed and served perfectly. We started with edamame and gyoza and everything was outstanding. Super flavorful and very fresh. My son ordered the I Love Salmon sushi combination plate. He said everything was super fresh and delicious. He is quite the foodie and if he says something is good I believe it. I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen, which was outstanding with big pieces of pork in it and my husband ordered the spicy vegetable Ramen, which lived up to its name! I did like that there were vegetarian options on the menu. This is going to be a place that I go to regularly. Once people discover this little gem, I'm sure waiting time is going to go up quite a bit!

The interior is alright, with just enough decoration to feel like a sit-in restaurant and a good amount of light coming in from the windows. The service is super fast and friendly, and you'll get served quickly on a visit here. Parking is also plentiful right outside the restaurant. For me, the food here is alright -- it's fresh though maybe not as satisfying as some other spots you could go to -- due to the seemingly healthier preparation they have on the food. That is, it's a bit lighter on sauces and unhealthy elements, instead opting for more vegetables. Depending on what you're looking for, this could be a good thing as you could probably eat here frequently and help to maintain a diet -- but if you're looking for heavily sauced sushi like what you'll find at an AYCE option, this might not be what you're looking for. Portion sizes are fairly good here and prices are fair. Overall, solid spot if you're looking for healthier Japanese food. There's just enough ambiance here -- but it's nearby a very competitive Asian food area and not exactly a standout option for flavor.
