Chicken Fried Steak, hash browns, and eggs with biscuits for my "toast".
Debra M.

I had the chicken fried steak and eggs. The Chicken Fried steak was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. It was huge. The eggs were also perfectly cooked over easy. The waitress was attentive but not annoying. It was a good experience. Don't forget to have your players club card for a discount.

Great cafe located inside of the Chuchansi casino. Service was great. Waitress was sure to check in on us. We ordered the make your own omelette and breakfast croissant. The portions were hefty. I think the meals are moderately priced. It's the little things that matter and I really appreciated our waitress leaving the coffee carafe at our table so that we could refill our coffee at any time. It is a casual atmosphere. The cafe was moderately busy, yet we had no delays in waiting to be seated nor was there a long wait for our food to reach our table. Definitely would love to come back.

Service was excellent! Breakfast was terrible. Cold. Dry ham. No flavor. It used to be good but today I couldn't eat it. Nice big tables to relax at. There was a thirty minute waitlist today.

NOH?O? Steak & Eggs

Located at the main entrance of the casino where valet and check in are. We came here for brunch on an early Saturday morning and it was BUSY! The staff member who checked us in, gave a fair warning that our server was also managing two other tables with 6-8 people and would with us shortly. But almost immediately as we we were sat down, our server greeted us and took our drinks. Only 3 minutes later she took our orders! I appreciated how quick the staff was on a busy Saturday morning. We would not have minded the wait at all but those servers were moving quick to get the orders out. We were originally seated at a table, but asked for a booth instead to be a little more comfier. The main seating area is spacious with options of tables and booths; if you're coming with a larger party, there is a second seating area in the back with much larger table space. According to their website, the whole restaurant is decorated with "NOH?O?" which is derived from the Chuckchansi word for bear! You'll see many little details of bears and the outdoors on the decor. We ordered the steak and eggs, had the steak done rare, eggs done over medium, with country potatoes and white buttered toast. The photos do not do it justice. One of the best items I'd recommend to get for brunch, it was very good. We would definitely dine in again. If you're in a rush, they also do take-out! You can get a discount on your meal if you have a player's card, but I do believe it has to be a specific tier or higher. I'd check in with the staff to see how much you can get discounted on your meal!

Noh?o? Cafe, Coarsegold: 2024 Dec 23 (4.5 of 5) We had table reservations at another eatery, but were early, so we decided to check into this café. The name was interesting, but we didn't know how to pronounce it. Our server said the name, Noh?o? translates to 'bear'. Of course, it makes sense after he mentioned it, as we're in 'bear' country and this casino is called Chukchansi. The Chukchansi are an indigenous people of California who have lived in the San Joaquin Valley and Sierra Nevada foothills for over 12,000 years. The name Hoh?o? suits the place. Service: Angel S was our server. We explained that we were there only for drinks and appetizer as we already made reservations elsewhere. He was very nice about it. Angel was friendly and personable. (5 of 5) Food: The appetizer we ordered hit a spot. The potato skins may look like it came out of a frozen section at Costco, but the kitchen doctored this dish. The texture and taste were decent for something so simple. (4 of 5) We told Angel we will be back to sample other items on the menu the next time we're in the area.

My family frequents this cafe quite often as we visit Chuckchansi casino almost monthly. The space offers booth and table seating. It's always busy as it's one of the few restaurants on site. Generally, it's a solid breakfast spot. Can't go wrong with the chicken fried steak, the country breakfast or the pancakes. Their dinner menu, however, is not my favorite. The steaks are not the greatest quality, mashed potatoes are not served hot and the side veggies tend to be overcooked. If I am here for dinner, I generally stick to soups and salads. The California ranch salad is a fave. The service is either great, or very slow depending on the waitress.

I absolutely love coming to this cafe with my family. We always choose to eat here since it's so comforting and the food is delicious. It always hits after a late night of drinking and of course hitting the slots. It gives me a cabin feel, cute and cosy. The waitresses are always so nice. They are always usually packed but very fast. I like to come here to use my food voucher. It's literally right in front of the casino, you do have to walk out to use the restrooms. Everything on the menu is pretty good, don't think I've had one thing that was bad. Tonight I did a pastrami sandwich and I added onions, no lettuce. Fries on the side and a little cup of mustard, yes dip your sandwich into the mustard.. it's fire. Also ask for extra chilis on the side so you can take a bite and drizzle that juice on your sandwich. We also got the bacon burger with onion rings. Their burgers are good, better than the diner next door. Overall if you want a comfort meal, come here. Don't forget to try their pot roast! Sooo good

Surprisingly this time everything was great!! Service, and food was excellent. My mother in law order the country fried steak and she really loved it. She wait it was the best one ever. She had tried this from another place and she mention is was too salty. The one from this place was just perfect. Crispy and juicy a the same time. My husband got the open face turkey sandwich. It came with veggies and mashed potato. He said that it was really tasty. Tender, and juicy. My daughter got the barbecue ribs. She was in heaven. They were so tender the fell out of the bone real quick. She mention they were so flavorful. She loves ribs. Whey came with fries. We will visit again when we comeback.

Every time I come to Chukchansi, I'm either grabbing a meal here or at the Asian restaurant. This last time, I came on a Wednesday night with my mom to play some games and enjoy her late birthday dinner. As it was a weeknight, there wasn't a wait to be seated. There was plenty of seating and the restaurant is well lit. I ordered the grilled salmon, while she ordered the steak dinner, and we ordered some wings to share. My mom's steak was cooked well and the mash potatoes it came with were delicious. However, my salmon was a lot smaller than expected (refer to my pics) and very dry. Usually, I get the steak and eggs, and really regretted not doing that again this time. Regardless, their wings are absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection every time! My mom and I always order them. The servers were attentive and helpful, which I appreciate. They do serve beer and wine here, but if you want a cocktail, you'll have to go to the central bar in the casino. Overall, I think the prices are just slightly jacked up, but you can get a discount by showing your Player's Reward Card. And even better, if you play enough, you can get a Food Voucher from the Complimentary Services booth by the Casino Cashier area to use on your bill. Just remember that it doesn't cover alcohol or gratuity, so don't forget to tip your servers!

Our server ( Anna) was kind and attentive. Food was absolutely delicious and plentiful. We never get disappointed.

I can't count how many times I have visited this restaurant, most items are hit and miss but my steak and eggs have stayed consistent as well as their club sandwich. I tried their pancakes and well they were a bit on the dry side. The croissant, I gotten ham and cheese, expect a thick slice and not those thin slices of ham. I absolutely loved it. Customer service, there was only one time where it wasn't the best. I absolutely recommend their club sandwich and steak and eggs

My mom and I showed up 45 minutes before closing. Okay, idk why this place even exists without doors, windows, and air filtration. The whole time, all you smell is cigarette smoke. The waiters were very nice, the place was super clean the food was good it's just the smell of smoke I couldn't get over it. The fries for me were on the salty side. The clam chowder was really good. The mashed potatoes were delicious. The country fried steak had a chicken fried flavor, which wasn't bad it was tasty. My mom was missing her biscuit, but maybe that's because we came in so late and maybe they ran out. The sweets are from the bakery on the other aide of the building.

For some of you who don't know, Noh' O Cafe used to be named Gold Fields Cafe, located in the Chuckchansi Gold Resort & Casino in Coarsegold, CA. For being a cafe in the casino, I can say they have good quality foods and reasonable prices for their dining guests. I've been to Black Bear Diner and eaten at Table Mountain; they don't hit the spot like over here at Noh' O Cafe in Chuckchansi Resort & Casino. Their Club sandwiches are amazing, along with their crispy, somewhat battered fries and their chicken quesadilla. Also, some of the servers I had were attentive, friendly, and some not so attentive. The only thing that doesn't make this a 5-star review is you can smell the heavy stench of the second-hand smoke coming in the dining area. From all that losing or winning, you kept me full and very satisfied. Thank you, Noh' O Cafe. Looking forward to seeing you guys again.

A trifecta of horrendous service, rude hostess, and food MEH. Hotdogs and cashier at the local gas station are likely better.

(those were our only two options at the time we arrived) but neither disappointed: The outlaw potato: If comfort food and gourmet creativity had a baby, it would be this open-faced smoked potato masterpiece. From the first glance, it's clear this isn't your average spud -- the sea salt-crusted skin adds a satisfying crunch that gives way to a pillowy, smoky interior. Melted butter and tangy sour cream mingle at the base, setting the stage for the savory dance of crisp bacon bits and fresh green onion. The Carolina pig: this sandwich is what barbecue dreams are made of. Served on a perfectly soft, oil-top bun, the pork is tender, smoky, and slow-cooked to perfection -- each bite packed with that signature tangy Carolina flavor that fans of true BBQ will instantly recognize and love. Service: was top notch the girls were ready to go home, yet they entertained us and kept us laughing with offering items they no longer had on the menu. They did not make us feel rushed nor did they throw any shade at us that we were probably holding them up from closing shop.

Every question we had was met with patience as they guided us on the best food and wine pairing. They also are super accommodating to pets, and were able to enjoy a nice meal with our pup. The food was all fresh and delicious. Everything tasted like it was made from the heart. My husband got the angel hair pasta with chicken, a favorite of his, and it did not disappoint! I got the brown butter sage gnocchi, made with fresh sage from their garden. We also enjoyed the meze board. My husband who does not like falafel was fighting with me for the last piece. For dessert I ate the rosemary shortbread with lemon curd. Just like with the sage the rosemary was also freshly picked from their garden. The shortbread was not too dry but also the perfect ratio of crispy on the outside and slightly moist on the inside - the exact way shortbread should be baked. I normally am picky with lemon desserts, but their lemon curd was also perfect - not too sweet and not too sour while still maintaining that fresh flavor. My biggest regret of our visit is not booking a room at their inn. We spent a couple of hours here and immediately felt right at home. I hope to come back one day for the full inn experience.

My dad had eaten here 2 years ago when he camped in the Wishon area with my sister and her family. In fact, he mentioned that to our server (I believe her name was Maya or Mara) and she shrugged it off nonchalantly. She couldn't have cared less that he'd had such a good experience that he wanted to return with us. It was almost as though she preferred us not being there as it was kind of how the rest of our interactions went during our meal, which was unfortunate because I really wanted to like this place. My parents split a Reuben sandwich with their delicious apple & walnut salad. I got to taste the salad, and wish I had ordered it with chicken or salmon, but I was craving something more filling to last me most of the drive back to Los Angeles. I opted for their cheeseburger and potato spirals. I requested Swiss on my burger, but wished afterwards that I had requested it with their smoked blue cheese as my burger lacked a bit of flavor and juiciness; despite asking for it to be cooked medium, it was quite dry. My daughter had their fish n chips from the kids menu but opted for broccoli instead of potatoes (she loves broccoli and I wanted help with my potatoes anyway). The breading on the fish was very crunchy, and my daughter complained that it hurt her teeth a bit. Our server never once came to check on us to see how our meal was nor to ask if we needed refills on our drinks or anything else. In fact, when she did return it was only to set the bill on the table without saying a word and run off to check on the couple at the next table. Literally a drive-by dropoff of the check, haha. And less than 20 seconds later she turns around and motions to pick up the little folder with the check in it and asks us "Is there anything in here yet?" I must've had some look on my face because she set it back down and immediately says, "No rush." Like, come on! You LITERALLY just set it on our table. I was quite annoyed - like did you think we were going to dine and dash? My mom was too intimidated to ask for a refill on her Arnold palmer to go. I still had lemonade in my cup so I did ask for a plastic cup to take the rest of it to-go as I didn't wish to hang out there much longer. Anyway, I hate to give bad reviews, but after such an amazing time in Yosemite, this one just stunk up the end of the trip. Some tips: circle around the buildings in the front where the market and self-serve gas are. Plenty of parking. Views of the lake are nice. Restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating, two floors with restrooms on both floors- the lower level seems to be reserved for dinner hours and maybe even small parties/events. Hopefully you have better luck than us in terms of service.
