The toppings : beef jerky shreds (were yummy), hard boiled quail egg & shredded ginger are complimentary in flavor. Not sure i would order again though due to the chewiness. The scallop dish was VERY good. Quail egg cooked easy over topped with scallop, peanuts, chili sauce, & tobiko. OH.MY.GOSH! Order this, you wont be disappointed. The chicken wings were nice & meaty! Not the skinny little mini wings I've seen at other places. Fried crisp & tossed in a well rounded slightly sweet, slightly tart, & a bit of fish sauce. No dipping sauce, however, the wings are well coated in the above sauce. Another winner. Also ordered the bbq pork bun ga nuong was very good as well. Could have used a bit more noodles though. Generous bbq pork was flavorful with slight char. My MIL had a Thai tea. She said it was exceptionally good. Since she's had hundreds of these, I take her word for it. The service was really good and the restaurant was really clean. However, the food was just so so. We ordered a shaken beef salad, pork, vermicelli, noodles, and sesame balls. For the salad, there was too much dressing and the vegetables like carrots were cut in such a large chunks that it was hard to bite down. The beef was overcooked and hard to chew. There were not many beef pieces compared to the pork in the vermicelli. The beef were cut into such small pieces and not like what they had in the picture. And I was told shaken was a term for stir fry..learning still even at 68. The dish was so full of flavors and not overly spicy or salty .of course I went back Sunday and dined in and had the shaken beef salad.. avocado.. cucumber..and just the right amount of beef and onion to satisfy taste buds. The dressing..right amount that does not take away from the taste. I also ordered shaken beef with red rice and shaken chicken with red rice and fried egg..can't wait to try these ..l always do extra take out since I rarely cook anymore. Don't be fooled by the 5 star reviews. Maybe they were bought or incentivized because my experience was nothing like what those reviews described. The food was absolutely terrible, most dishes were overcooked, greasy, dry, and lacked any real flavor. Portions were tiny, definitely not worth the price. It felt like they had no idea how to cook The drinks were just as disappointing, poorly made and barely drinkable. It was so bad I had to throw it away after just one sip. It's shocking that a restaurant can serve food and drinks at this level and still remain open. It felt like the kitchen had no idea what they were doing. Avoid it if you care about quality. What's even more disappointing is how the owner handles feedback. Instead of taking honest reviews as an opportunity to improve the food and service, they deflect responsibility by accusing reviewers of only using the restroom or obsessing over their bizarre restroom policy which has nothing to do with the actual dining experience. This kind of unprofessional and defensive attitude shows why the restaurant is stuck where it is. If you can't accept constructive criticism, how can you ever expect to improve? Decided to check this place out because my brother recommended it, and I have to say it is pretty good. I got the combo which consisted of the garlic noodles with shaken beer and your choice of a lemonade drink (I chose strawberry). The combo costs about $21. You get less compared to other places, but the flavor is definitely there; a typical case of quality over quantity. IMO the lemonade was a bit too sweet for my taste, which is weird because I normally have a sweet tooth (I'm that person who gets 100% sweetness for boba drinks lol). Overall, this place is pretty good. I recommend checking it out if you are in the area. Service is also good. Please make sure to check your food and drinks because one of the lemonade drinks had a long strand of hair in it. The staff was nice enough to replace the drink right away. They probably should consider wearing a hairnet when preparing food and drinks to help prevent situations like that. With that in mind, I would probably give this place more of a 3.5 instead of a 4 star review. read more

Previously this is where Papo's Cuban Kitchen used to be and the layout and tables are still the same. The restaurant itself was very clean and nicely decorated and the lady behind the counter was very sweet. I chose the Shrimp Vermicelli from the menu and the dish was served after only a short wait. Unfortunately this was probably one of the worst Vermicelli dishes I've ever had. The shrimps tasted artificial and overcooked imho. The small container of the fish sauce was enough to fill a cavity but not enough for the entire dish. The egg roll was also nothing worth writing home about and the noodles also had a very strange taste to them and basically I gave up eating after only a few bites. While I really wanted to like this place based on all the positive reviews I doubt that I will be back. 2.5 stars for friendly service and reasonably priced food. read more

I stopped by for a quick bite to eat before meeting a friend at Golden Road and stocked up on their Glazed Chicken Bowl. This entree absolutely blew me away! The Glazed Chicken Bowl was served with chunks of chicken, flavorful rice, tomato, onion, cucumber, and the best garlic sauce I've ever tasted! I tried Non's Kitchen for the first time this past Tuesday with family after watching a movie at Century Stadium, which is a few blocks away. The staff were really nice here and service was pretty quick, with all of our food coming out within about 10 minutes of ordering (and we ordered a lot). The food itself was all pretty good. My favorite was the Shaken Beef with rice, although the Grilled Pork Vermicelli was a close second. The food also came with a complementary lemonade (for ordering over $20 worth), although the cashier gave us two because we had ordered a lot. Both the lychee and strawberry lemonades were super refreshing, especially since it was a warm day. The lychee lemonade specifically was slightly on the sweet side but was still good. Overall definitely a hidden spot that I'd recommend trying after watching a movie! We decided to try this restaurant as we live nearby and were looking for new food spots around the area. This was conveniently close to a Tesla charger and the Angels stadium. PROS: The restaurant was clean and the service was good. I thought the entrees were delicious and satisfying. The glazed chicken was crunchy and the soy glaze was very tasty. The Waterfall chicken seemed too simple at first but the soy-based sauce it came with complemented it well. The other beef and shrimp offerings seemed promising too. They have a huge menu for entrees and drinks so that's a plus! CONS: We tried their thai tea and it didn't have strong thai tea flavor I'm used to. The crispy red bean balls were also disappointing. The outside was crunchy but didn't seem cooked all the way through. The red beans were still cold and solid. It was also very pricy at $6.45 for three small balls. In general, the prices here were all pretty steep. Despite the steep price and some of the misses, I still think this restaurant is worth a try and I think it's a hidden gem in Anaheim. Ordered the garlic noodles with Shaken Beef and a boba drink...hate to be so critical as I can see it was a family owned business - but I think they tailor more to the American palette - salty and greasy. I usually don't feel "heavy" after eating Vietnamese food but this time I did. Plus, the boba was a little overcooked and mushy. There is clear effort here, so I view it as one of those boba cafes that happens to offer decent food. There are plenty of tables inside for dining and the decor is homey and simple. The only strange thing is that the music is modern pop/R&B. This place would do well as a quiet and relaxing cafe so people can study or do work there, so the music was off. The menu is huge with lots of options for boba and Vietnamese food. The food came out quickly with a nice presentation. The popcorn chicken ($7.45) portion was a little small, but it was seasoned well. The Shaken Chicken ($13.95) was decent as well. I really liked the two sauces, which were a sweet fish sauce and a creamy cilantro sauce. The chicken was kinda small, but the rice and all went well together. The chicken was so dry, tasted old, 5 little squares of green peppers & a few pieces of onion swimming is a pool of grease. So disgusting that I threw it away. What a waste of $20.00.
