What used to be the best pizza anywhere around, has become glorified Papa John's. They use different toppings than they used to, much lower quality than in the past, and they skimp on those. It's a lot of food. It's very pricey, but I have a hard time being mad about that when the portions are huge. The "small" salad was enough for two people. Waited around for someone to seat me. Yeah, so I used to really like this place. I went there this evening with my wife to get some take out pasta. I ordered the Baked Ziti and she ordered the Chicken Alfredo. I asked the lady at the counter if they could add extra bread to our order. I asked because the bread there was always good. In a very rude manner, she responded that, "we only offer bread for in restaurant orders." When I pressed back that we would be willing to pay extra for the bread she snapped back and repeated her same line. By this time I was ready to just walk out, but we went ahead and got the order anyway. While we were waiting I went to the restroom, the door was locked, but after a few minutes an employee came out. This place is great place for real Italian food but there presentation and portion size could be a lot better! I contacted the restaurant to let them know that my Tiramisu, I recieved looked like someone just through the remains of the Tiramisu into a plastic tack out container. The portion I received was very little compare to what I was charged. The small piece of tiramisu also tasted like it was old. We have dined here for years. The food has always been great but since Covid it has just not been the same. Our last trip her Chicken Marsala was bland. The chicken had zero flavor and made the dish inedible. My Farfalle with sausage was a 2 dish at best. I'm not sure what has happened but at the current prices it causes one to think of alternatives. Ordered online and arrived at the time frame that was given. I had to wait an additional half hour. Once home, I realized I wasn't given my full order and my food was cold. I went back, with the food, and asked for a refund. They wouldn't refund me due to them using a third party online service. When I went in asking for a manager they told me one was not working, so I asked for someone in charge. The guy working the desk pointed to someone on the other side of the restaurant and said you can talk to him. Well, it's amazing how businesses will allow an environment where one phone call will lose a long-term customer. After ordering takeout here for years at $75-$100 average and usually patroning the bar to kill time, I placed a call in order per usual with my only request being that I would swing by in an hour, not 1/2 hour estimated, so I requested just put it in at 4:30 instead of 4pm. After getting the whole order explained and totalled, the individual whom was taking said order informed me they absolutely could not do that and I would have to wait another half hour, call back and then replay and retake the whole order over again. As I explained the absurdity of literally having the same conversation and itemized order literally a half hour again, I was again informed they are unable to accommodate even though I had done this same thing multiple times with the polite female rep that usually answers. You will have a hard time choosing from their many luscious options. Their Chicken Marsala is some of the best I've ever eaten, and try the Chicken Parmigiana. I've tried all their veal plates, their manicotti and ziti and not gone away disappointed. The service is personal and attentive. Best of all, it's very affordable. This is the 96th review I've written on Yelp, but this is only the third one-star review. I save a one-star review for the worst of the worst. Over the past few years, we've eaten at La Piazza enough times that we've come to know some of the servers. While it's never been inexpensive, the pizza is usually excellent, the rest of the menu somewhere between good and very good, and the service typically falls somewhere between very good and outstanding. We supported La Piazza during the pandemic and when they began ignoring the pricing on their menu, at first we just chalked up the discrepancies to issues with their POS system and later we asked our servers to check what the actual prices of their food before ordering since the menus were incorrect. We were loyal to La Piazza and trusted they would resolve the issues as quickly as possible. Their prices steadily increase and extra fees pop up on their menu, yet the product does not change; it is no longer a reasonable value, regardless of inflation. Today's lunch at La Piazza was the final straw. We ordered the small antipasto salad for $8.99 from the lunch menu that our server gave us. When the check arrived, we were charged for the $13.50 large antipasto salad. Our server confusingly explained that he gave us the lunch menu but he had to charge us the dinner menu price and since there was no small antipasto salad on the dinner menu, we had to pay the large salad price. It's important to note that we also ordered a lunch-menu spaghetti with meat sauce that is not on the dinner menu, but we were charged the price on the lunch menu for that. It made zero sense to me, but he refused to adjust the check and demanded that we pay for a salad that we weren't served. As justification, he told us that we knew about the problems with La Piazza's pricing so we should just accept it and pay up. Out of respect for our server and our previous experiences with him, we paid the price demanded without escalating the issue any further. The extra $4.51 that we paid today cost La Piazza the trust and loyalty that developed between us over the years. It appears that the owners have totally forgotten that business is a mutual relationship ultimately based on trust. We can find better food, better service, and better value from other nearby restaurants that value our business and want to build an on-going relationship. It will be a long, long time before we give La Piazza another chance, if ever. read more

The servers are not proactive, they stand around as people need drinks and bread. If they know someone they stand and talk and not help customers. The food takes forever. They are always out of something and multiple things. 5 BIG STARS! Our new favorite Italian place. We opted for take-out today because none of us wanted to get dressed - ha ha. We ordered the Fried Ravioli and Garlic Knots. Both were great. Talk about garlic on those knots. I don't mind, but I could smell the aroma all the way home. For entrees, my daughter got Cavatelli with Vodka Sauce. She loved it, and there's plenty more for another meal (or two, even). My husband ordered the Chicken Parmigiana with a side of penne, and for me, I ordered the Fettuccini Alfredo with Chicken and Broccoli, substituting Farfalle for the noodles. Will be the first to say that typically we do not have any food complaints. However, this has been one of the worst experiences we have encountered. They had left one of our to go orders out of the bag, which resulted in a missing Salmon salad. The fettuccini was tasteless and the chicken was not fresh ( as if it came frozen and microwaved, then placed on top). The Linguini with clams was disrespectful because I could not even eat it. If i had to describe that dish, it would be like an ash tray. Our entire family almost felt sick to our stomachs.
