It was a lazy Saturday when we decided to get some "linner"(late lunch early dinner) . A friend had mentioned this place and we decided to try it. The staff was inviting, and we receded quickly. The restaurant was clean and it smelled incredibly good. We ordered the appetizer sampler, that included, fried mozzarella,, fried ravioli, and fried zucchini sticks. It came out fairly quickly, was fresh and super tasty. There are a ton of options to get it was hard to narrow down just which one we wanted. But we ordered and not only did the food look amazing but taste incredibly good. Plenty of food left over for a snack later. We will definitely return. read more

So good. The bolognese sauce is delicious and I like that they have a gluten free option for pasta if you want to substitute the rigatoni. The chicken caprese is my favorite, partially because the sauce is loaded with garlic slices. Both indoor and patio dining are available. Service is excellent. read more

I chose Cristos Bistro because of their location near my grandson who I was meeting for lunch. I got there as they were opening and was immediately greeted by the server. The menu had quite a large selection of offerings. I chose pepperoni pinwheels - like mini pizzas. My grandson had a chicken sandwich that was huge. I told our server that my grandson was going into the Coast Guard in a few days. The owner made a special dessert for us to honor his upcoming service. Sorry to say, but something has happened to this restaurant, it use to be our favorite. My salad tonight was wilty, Penne Pasta dish was swimming in sauce, and the sauce was bad, tasted like Campbell's tomato soup. Sausage roll was all cheese, hardly any sausage, peppers or onions, and when cut very watery. I am done with this place. I wonder if they have different owners, something changed. Ordered Veal parmigiana and this was probably the worst Veal I have ever tasted. The Veal was over cooked making it really chewy and hard, really not eatable. I had 3 bites at different areas in the veal all terrible. Side salad not worth it ice berg. The pasta fagioli was really good. The chicken caprese was average. Veal parmigiana priced at $23 for a veal that is overcooked not edible and maybe 15 penne pasta. I would go to a different Italian restaurant, maybe the lasagna would've been better. read more

I came here on a weekday afternoon for an early dinner and was VERY impressed. A beautiful place, nicely decorated and so clean! If I ever get asked on a date, I would go here. Good place for a business dinner or lunch too. Located in a Harris Teeter shopping center on Sunset Road in Holly Springs. I was seated quickly and Rene took excellent care of me from start to finish. I hope she is there next time I come. They had some specials that sounded amazing, but I had heard the pizza was good here, so after debating, I decided on the pizza. I got a medium supreme and it was LOADED with toppings! Three kinds of meat, lots of veggies too. This is a eat with your fork pizza, its too heavy to lift it! The only things missing was the cheese. Very little cheese on the entire pizza. Amazing thing was, it was still wonderful. This pizza was three meals for me, it was so loaded. It also came with fresh, soft , yummy bread. I ordered a side salad and it was fresh and delightful too and not overpriced like some places. Beautiful atmosphere, plenty of parking, amazing service and great food. After walking through the door and feeling like someone had purchased a restaurant starter kit off Amazon, we should have trusted our instincts to eat somewhere else - I will be haunted by that decision for the rest of my life (or at least for the next week). At least 4 people came up to tell us, someone would help us soon. I wondered why they seemed to put so much effort into telling us they'd help us instead of actually helping us but because the restaurant was only half full on a Saturday night - another sign that should have told us to leave - the wait wasn't very long for someone to actually help us. We ordered our drinks and looked through the QR code enabled menu on our phones. The waiter was a folksy guy that meant well but seemed to be a bit clumsy at his job and the interactions with him were fairly awkward. When I ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese he said our Bolognese sauce is great. My wife ordered the Penne Rustica - he didn't comment on that sauce which is weird because when it came out it appeared to be the exact same sauce. The waiter said he would bring out some bread shortly. I was hopeful, maybe this place will be a surprising hole in the wall with great food. And then the food arrived! The bread seemed like a super market French bread loaf thrown in an oven to dry it out just a little to make it crunchy and warm. My wife and I got dishes that looked nearly identical. Runny pasta sauce, over cooked noodles, and a taste that felt like a frozen pasta dish reheated. The Rustica had a few sad looking vegetables and chicken breast that had fake grill marks on them like a package of chicken breast bought next to the lunch meat in the grocery store. The bolognese had ground beef that looked like it had been tossed into a dish after it had been completely compiled. The waiter couldn't understand why we didn't want a box to take the barely eaten food home. I explained it wasn't very good. He tried to be helpful but fell short of actually doing anything to resolve the problem whether comping the items or just asking what might not have lived up to expectations. It just felt like everything else at the restaurant, a bare minimum effort to make things passable. I recognize the owners are probably trying to make a living and support their family. I commend them for taking a risk with a restaurant but I would suggest they invest in improving their experience starting with the food. I don't write reviews like this lightly but I also worked hard that day earning the money that I spent paying for this meal. If you work hard for your money, I suggest you support another business that puts forward that same effort earning your support. read more

Annie our server was the BEST! I came here tonight with my sister, 2 adult nephews, and my brother in law. Annie suggested items to us as we were taking forever to figure out what we wanted. We ordered fried calamari and fried mozzarella to start with. She came right out with appetizer plates and fresh hot bread. We finally figured out what we wanted and we were all pleased with our choices. The eggplant rollatini I had was so big I only ate one roll out of the three. We were all pleasantly surprised that a sald came with each dinner as a lot of places have done away with that. Today however was different. the hostess was told us unless we had 4 in our party she could not seat us. We were craving some Italian food so we stopped in to this little gem. It is located in a strip mall with a Harris Teeter so you can pick up your groceries after your meal and kill 2 birds with 1 stone. The have an inside seating section and an outdoor patio in the back if you want to dine al fresco. The portions were HUGE! We ordered the garlic knots and calamari to start. Then she had a chicken dish, don't remember the name, but it had spinach, melted cheese and prosciutto. I had the chicken marsala. Again, the portions were very large, my entrée came out on a platter and my pasta was like a whole box of pasta. It was cooked to order and served hot and fresh. All items that we ordered were very tasty. It was a weeknight and they were short staffed. They apologized, we waited patiently throughout the meal, and didn't mind the wait because the food was so good. They closed on 8pm that particular night which we thought was pretty early. We had been wanting to check out Cristo's Bistro for quite some time and finally decided to go. Why did we wait so long? Wow! Although the service was slightly slow, the food made up for that in a big way! We had Penne Cristo which was fantastic! Penne with chicken and Italian sausage roasted red peppers, garlic in a white wine sauce! Yum! We also had the Chicken Saltimbocca! 2 Chicken breasts with a layer of lightly fried eggplant, prosciutto and mozzarella, with a red sauce over it and all on top of a bed of spaghetti! We could only eat half of our meals because the portions are very generous. We can't wait to have this for lunch today! If you're going to dine in, go on and enjoy! It's really good food. But take out is a disaster. Their online ordering system is nothing but trouble. The estimates it gives you if you place a normal order (as in, ready ASAP) are NEVER correct. It may say 30 minutes, but it will probably ready in under 20. I've solved that by just expecting it to be ready in 15 minutes, but then a handful of times they've just neglected to send the pick up ready text, so I waited for the time it said it would ready only to get a lukewarm pizza. If we ordered two things, like a pizza and a pasta dish, one was usually piping hot while the other was getting cold. That was so inevitable that I just stopped ordering the second entree and stuck to pizza. But clearly I continued to order since I have a dozen experiences with that. But today was the last time. To avoid cold pizza, I selected a specific time to pick up (as opposed to ASAP). I chose 6:45, and got a text at 6:25 that my pizza was ready. I actually called because I was so sick of paying $20 for a pizza that ended up being room temperature when I got it. They said they'd make a fresh one ready for 6:45 but they absolutely did not. It tasted like pizza that had sat out for 20 minutes. I've forgiven cold pizza a dozen times but I won't go back to a place that lies to me. read more

What a wonderful find in Holly Springs! From subs to pizzas to authentic Italian pasta and entrees, you can't go wrong! And in old school fashion, entrees come with warm bread and side salads. Chicken Sorrentino was awesome! Chicken Parmesan spot on. Same with Chicken Caprese, DH thought the Penne Cristo could have used a little more of the delicious Italian sausage. Coffee and limoncello cake was the perfect ending. Server was friendly, but a bit forgetful-didn't get second glass of wine, long wait for grated Parmesan for entree.
