Amazing little joint. Got the udon soup and it was delicious. My wife got the chicken pho and she said that it was one of the best she had. Ordered the lemon grass and chili chicken with yellow rice and that was outstanding. Would highly recommend. It's a small place... No tables... Just a counter... So seating is tight.... We had a large Pho with rare beef, bbq pork dry noodles, spring rolls and chow mein (though we had ordered chow fun). The food was not the most authentic Vietnamese food I've had. - The pork in the dry noodles was a bit over done and lacking in extras, such as peanuts, cilantro, green onions and the ice berg lettuce was bitter (ie the yellow inside part of the lettuce). - Pho was okay but not great. The broth was tasty but not super hearty. The beef was very well done. Would have liked more extras (basil, lime) - Spring roll was okay. Could have used more peanut sauce. - Chow mein was meh. Five stars for: 1/ Mango smoothie was delish. Would return just to have another smoothie. 2/ Vietnamese coffee (on ice). This is killer coffe--delish. Service was efficient, no frill. I love this place! I especially like the sweet and sour chicken over chow mein noodles. It's small,and I have read some reviews from folks with complaints about it being crowded. It's called NOODLE BAR not noodle warehouse or noodle big restaurant or noodle emporiums! This place is exactly what it should be,good food,you can call the order in and pick it up,they are always busy so you may want to do that if it's around lunch or dinner time. Have been here several times and always enjoyed the experience, but this time the young waitress with glasses was extremely rude. She didn't smile once, seemed to ignore the customers, and even had the nerve to say "I know!" to my wife when she asked for a straw for her water. When we left, she was right outside talking on her phone, and started both of us down as we walked away. Very tiny place! Cute though. The name fits- it really is a bar with seats and thats it! The prices are very cheap. The regular pho is only $5.50 i believe, and the large is $6.50. The bbq chicken spring rolls were very fresh and tasty. The pho itself was good, but a little more oily than I like. Also, the quanitity of meat in the pho was low. But for the price, I'd say it's worth it. read more

Honestly, I can't handle going here any more. The food is super yummy, but OMG I can't stand to walk in the place. I could get over the fact that there are 8 bar stools and people waiting are literally standing 2 feet from you watching you eat while wishing you would hurry up. What I cannot deal with is the view from those bar stools. If you want to keep going here, don't look down. You'll see the nasty floors, the mats that don't appear to have ever been washed, the dust and grime on the bottom 6" of the wall. Yuck. Go to the Marina location...I can't say for sure that the kitchen/prep stations are cleaner, but at least you are more than 3 feet from them and can't see it while you are eating. This pace is pretty good! Food tastes awesome! The only thing that I do not like is that is pretty small... So more than 3 people would probably have to wait to seat together... That and the fact that it is cash only... which is annoying as well, regardless of the fact that there is ATM inside the restaurant it is just annoying that you cannot pay with a credit card. read more

Delicious Pho! My husband and 2 sons are visiting Monterrey for some races and we found this place on Yelp! We arrived and initially we ordered to go because it is a tiny place and there weren't enough seats together for us, but just as we were about to get our food, seats opened up. Service is absolutely HORRIBLE!!! The lady behind the counter is not friendly at all and not paying attention to what I was ordering so she messed up my drink order and never apologized. I used a two dollar bill and she assumed it was a one and didn't give me my change. I was craving boba today!! It's Thursday at 3:30 and the place is still packed. This is an indication that the food that is served is the best around. They have always been for me consistently good. Very vegetarian friendly and out of all the Vietnamese places I have tried they have the best peanut sauce. read more

Yesterday I tried the food at Noodle Bar for the first time and instantly became a fan. Sure the place is tiny, plain, lacks enough seats but the food makes up for all of that. Plus majority of the dishes are $5.50 for a regular and that is with tax already included. My sister had warned me in advance that there were barely any seats so we ordered to go and ate back in Marina. I ordered #18, the BBQ Pork. It was just a bit too oily, but it was soo good. It actually reminds me of this pork we fry for Korean BBQ, but better because it had some kind of BBQ sauce. The rice that they give you is really good and they give you a lot of it. My sister ordered the lemongrass beef and got more meat in her order than I did. She tells me they actually give bigger portions if you eat there, but It's OK because their portions still made me really full. The rest of my family ordered the pho to go and it was still really hot 15 minutes later, they didn't even have to reheat it! The pho was also really good and had big portions. The broth had lots of flavor and wasn't bland (I just had to have a small taste to see how it compared after I had really bland pho from The Orient). The only negative thing is that they didn't give us any cilantro. Overall i would recommend this place to everyone. The food is good, cheap, and decently portioned. We got our order to go so I don't really have anything to say about their service other than the fact that they gave us lots of sauce. Don't let the looks of this place fool you because you might be missing out on good food! read more

Screw Chopstix - this is my new pho place. Only downside is that they don't accept cards; cash only. But the food is pretty good and you get some very large portions, unlike Chopstix which screws you on noodles and just fills your bowl with bean sprouts. Service is pretty quick - about a 10-minute wait if you order to go. I've been here twice now and plan to make this a weekly meal spot. read more
