This is pretty much the only place in Salinas for decent Pho. I love egg noodles so I had barbeque pork egg noodle soup it's not on the menu but they make it. I noticed at first the noodles tasted a bit off kind of a very slight mold flavor. Then as I grabbed a nice amount to take a bite I saw (thank goodness before I ate it) a big clump of noodles stuck together with black mold. Needless to say a noodle house with moldy noodles doesn't say much about the freshness. We have eaten there many times and I have tried the "Chinese" food but very below par. Pork ribs are tuff and they use the same ribs for sweet and sour. Stick to the pho. Don't order the egg noodles not fresh. The staff and great as is the service. But aside from the pho I eat Chinese food at the Eagle. read more

Let me start off by saying that thee employees i dont know maybe they are even the owners, two males; are super friendly and attentive. The times ive eaten here they always give us outstanding service. With that being said, i havent tried alot of their food, i always have the vegetable shrimp or chicken noodle soup, which is very delicious and tasty. It comes with an additional plate of condiments, bean sprouts, basil leaves, lemon and slices of jalapeno and lemon to add to your soup. Discovered this gem in Salinas on my way down to SLO. It was 8pm and me and my car buddy were starting to get hungry. She was craving Asian food so we used the restaurant search feature on my Garmin. There were a series of unpromising sounding Chinese restaurants and then we saw Noodle House. Score! We almost gave up on eating here because we had difficulty with the directions. The meal was quick and the pho was tasty! The waiters here were very nice and the owner was very chill. We liked it so much that we brought our friends back on the drive up from SLO. The owner remembered me and thanked me for coming back! Probably not the hugest portion sizes but the soup is good (although I'm sure there is tons of MSG). My only complaint is that I ordered pho with tripe and there was no tripe! Definitely a good place to stop by if you need pho while you're passing through Salinas. read more

Whenever I'm in the area for work I always stop at least one night to pick up some Pho from the noodle house. I have always been pleased with the Pho as well as the quantity that they gave you. this time I happen to be a little bit hungrier, so I ordered the asparagus with beef and let me tell you this is absolutely fabulous. The beef is tender and the asparagus is nice and crisp. The best part is that they do not drench it in sauce. The staff is very nice and hospitable. read more

Review for boba- not food: I came here one day because I craved Thai iced tea with boba. I should have known better when I asked my friend if he wanted one and he said no thanks after I told him where I was going... I was SEVERELY disappointed in what I got. I put in an order... next thing I know I hear the blender go off.. I thought "wait, is that mine??"... My Thai iced tea came out in chopped up ice and was as pale as a peach. WHAT KIND OF THAI ICED TEA IS THIS??!! You should've seen my face! I was so sad and also pissed because I was late for work for this CRAPPY boba? I told the person, that's not Thai iced tea... I just want thai milk tea. His reply "No, this is how it comes, this is the original and how it is supposed to be made" BULL F'N SH*T. You can't fool someone who has been outside of Salinas and in the originating country of Thailand. I felt bad if I didn't take it ... and needed something to show for the fact that I was late to work. I paid my $3.25.... and left. I wouldn't come back here for boba ever again. We love the Noodle House! The owners are so friendly, and the food is very good. We think their pho is the best in the Monterey area, and their Chinese is also excellent. Mandarin chicken--mmm! If you're not sure what something on the menu is, just go to the wall by the register and look for its picture. OK, so it's in a strip mall, the decor is blah, and they have sports playing on a TV. I can't believe I haven't written a review yet for this place. Well just a little history about this place, they've been open for a while now, and I believe I was there when they first opened. It's family owned and run. The dude Elvis (well thats what he calls himself) is laughs. He always be cracking jokes with us when we come in, he's a cool dude. They upgraded a lil with their TVs and yah, kinda like your standard Pho place. I go there only for the Pho because they are the only Pho place in town, unless you can tell me other wise in the 831. I usually get the large 17 or 16 Pho with extra meatballs. mmmm bomb. Found this place on Yelp. Great find. The food is very similar to my fave Noodle places in Little Saigon SJ so its legit. Spring rolls are bomb (see my pic of the plate :-)). The vermicelli noodle bowl is topped w delish BBQ chicken and green onions. Served with fish sauce. The chicken pho was standard good. The place was busy and guess what? They accept credit cards so you dont have to scramble to dig up cash. Super friendly service...much appreciated! read more

3.5 stars After church, my family and I stopped by here to get some food. It was quite a rainy day so I ordered myself a combination pho while the rest of my family ordered rice plates. Their lunch special rice plates came with soup, steamed rice, and fried wonton. When their order came out, their plates were full of food! The service here is okay and the food came out surprisingly fast. My pho, like others, tasted delicious but I wish they had more meat pieces! One of the male servers (probably the owner since it seemed family-owned) that served us was very charismatic AND new some tagalog words, which impressed my grandmas. $48 for a total of 6 dishes, which isn't that bad. My family and I have been coming here for years and absolutely love it! Although it could be cleaner, the service is the best I've experienced in this area. I've eaten at a good amount of Chinese food places, but this one has always been the most consistent and tasty! Especially when its a Chinese AND Vietnamese restaurant! I used to come here a lot when I was still in high school and try my best to go every time I go back home to Salinas to visit. Their House Fried Rice always makes my mouth drool thinking about it.... Sometimes I would just order the house fried rice especially when I used to work at the Excel Photo a couple of stores down way back in 2003. Its 2011 and the food still tastes GREAT! Best pho in town! My family eats here frequently. We've tried almost everything on the menu and thus far, never been let down. The waiters/ waitress' are friendly, funny, & hospitable. I highly suggest you try the mandarin chicken OR shrimp with the sauce on the side. The general beef is also pretty amazing. They serve whole fish too! With the cold season upon us there is no time to spend! Everyone at work is sneezing and I was doing fine until a sudden urge overtook my being this morning in the shape of a sneeze! One of the new year's resolutions: be proactive! I decided to be good this year and kill this potential cold that wants to invade my oh-so-healthy me which calls for some Pho! I ordered their chicken pho. I am a fan of pho and chicken, thus the decision was imminent. To bypass the long lunch lines I decided to take out and sip this smooth pho in the comfort of my own establishment, barricaded away from sneezes and coughs. The pho is simple yet full bodied with hints of deliciousness and underlying notes of freshness. The homemade rice noodles are superb, the chicken was tender, and the broth was hot but not scalding. It's hard to compare this place to others when my usual Vietnamese eats are Lil' Saigon in Westminster or SoBay of SoCal....but considering there aren't much options for Vietnamese in Salinas, I'm giving them plenty of stars for just being around! I ordered the "bun" which on the menu I think is grilled beef noodle or something like that. (Hard to match up the Vietnames name with the English name but the picture menu on the wall helped. These are like a cold noodle salad). My mom liked her pho okay but the soup spilled out of the container...so if you get food to go, be careful with the pho soup container! Also, the hoisin sauce and hot sauce are automatically combined in tiny containers if you get it to go so you won't be able to adjust the spicy vs. sweetness. read more

Came here today since i was in the area with some friends. Amazingly it was really good. I was even more amazed with the fact that they serve a lot of different varieties of food and NOT just pho. We stuck to the a la cart style of eating which was affordable and delicious. we ordered about 5 different dishes including their house fried rice and steam rice which fed about 5 of us.
