If you prefer a more refreshing soup, I would recommend the Lanzhou beef noodle soup as the tomato brisket soup has chill oils and more of a richer flavor. My friends have all loved their orders as well, especially the stir fry noodles. Their noodles are made in-house and it's a blast watching the chefs at work. Service is great and they've got a military discount. Pro tip if you get a noodle soup, if you have broth/soup left over ask for it to-go with an order of extra noodles ($2 extra last time I was there). The food took a bit to come out, which I don't mind as you know they're making it. The beef pancakes arrive and are huge. It was very difficult to eat. It was cut in half and still I had trouble with chopsticks due to the thickness. I wasn't warned it was pipping hot. I saw the amount of oil waving it around too cool off. Not what I was expecting. It was too greasy for my taste. The noodles arrive and upon arrive I was disappointed. The noodles sat in water too long. It has that look and first bite confirmed such. It wasn't so much stir fry as it was too watery for that. Magnolian beef generally has a peppery flavor and this didn't. I found it to be bland. I mainly ate the bell peppers and a few slices of beef. Wasn't impressed. The perk is the waitress must have seen the disappointment in my face and told the owner/waiter. I constantly order the favorites from here, I mean it deserves to be repeated, the wontons in hot chili are absolutely amazing. Perfect pop in your mouth of flavor, with the perfect amount of heat. Little bites of spicy pork heaven. I am so in love with their wontons, I've had so many from other local contenders, and have been so disappointed...when I first had theirs I prayed on it yall!! Had to say a prayer after that bowl of love. I also recommend the Mongolian beef stir fry. I see a lot of people recommend that, so you already know what's goin on. It's utterly delicious. Not only is it an enormous portion with room for leftovers to go, it is absolutely delicious and so full of flavor. I am a lover of all things spicy, and I tend to learn towards Asian flavors when it comes to a choice. This place beats all expectations. It's such a breath of fresh air to see your food being made. To get to see how much love, care, and sheer effort/work that goes into the food you're eating makes the food that much better and filling. It also makes you very very grateful. I think the food scene is missing a bit of that lately (don't worry, I won't start ranting). When you walk in you get such a cozy feel, it's a place that makes you feel like you've been there before even if it's your first time. You're greeted by so many spicy and sweet flavors and smells. The waitresses are always so kind and sweet, and will remember your name and even order (or maybe I've just been too many times but too many isn't enough). A spontaneous lunch here totally made my Monday! We were immediately greeted upon arrival. We were fortunate enough to sit at the sweetest spot, a small counter facing a giant window which viewed the kitchen! You might think this felt awkward to be so close to the chefs, but it wasn't at all. We got to watch their impressive noodle-making skills and it took the experience to another level. We asked one of our servers for recommendations since it was our first time. My boyfriend couldn't decide between noodle soup or stir-fried noodles, so he ended up opting for the B3 hot and spicy soup, and I got the C3 Mongolian beef stir fry to share with him. Again, it was awesome to watch them prepare our food right from our seats. Once we were served, we were very impressed with the flavors of our dishes. His soup had just the right amount of spice, which he said progressively increased as he got to the bottom of the bowl. My noodles were bursting with flavorful sauce, accompanied by tender meat and yummy vegetables. I would've preferred a little more saltiness (a habit I need to kick!), but I was able to get some soy sauce to dash in there without a problem. The staff were notably friendly. I truly appreciate when the service takes a dining experience to another level. It seemed as though the three servers shared tables, because each one of them checked on us or chatted with us for a few. We learned about a crazy hot and spicy soup challenge where brave souls can take on a bowl 5 times the amount of the normal dish. Definitely not for us, but neat to hear about! We hung out for a little bit after our meal since it wasn't too busy. The cozy atmosphere is just another plus. These noodles were seriously delicious. I was so full after lunch, but thankful that the portion wasn't obnoxious in the first place. Prices are reasonable for everything you get. We showed up right at 11 AM on Saturday, August 31st, so the place had just opened up for the day & we were the very first customers to walk in. We were seated immediately, menus & iced water were brought to us, while we watched the "noodle man" whip up a fresh batch of noodles. My daughter was super intrigue so she moved closer to watch while the "noodle man" worked his magic to keep her entertained. My girlfriend ordered the fried salt & spicy squid to start with, while I ordered the cucumber salad. Little did I realize that my daughter was going to chow down almost the entire order of squid so I had to order a second order for everyone else to share. She's a happy eater! I ordered the Lan Zhou beef noodle & asked if it was ok to substitute with the beef brisket & our waitress was more than happy to accommodate. We all enjoyed everything that we ordered, my daughter really enjoyed the squid, in particular. Service was very quick & friendly. They brought out a kid's bowl & utensils, plus a pair of scissors for me to cut the noodles for my daughter without my even having to ask. That's how you know it's a really good noodle shop!! For starters, I ordered honey teriyaki shrimp, another friend ordered calamari, and the other ordered steamed dumplings. Each appetizer was amazing, but the calamari was the best. I couldn't stop eating it. Now for our bowls, we all got the homemade noodles (why else would we come to noodle man? ;)) and i liked my soup, I devoured the entire thing but I was still hungry. My friends devoured theirs, and the last one standing was my boyfriend. So I finished the rest of his, and it had a lot of flavoring. I think it had too much flavoring. It was making me nauseous with every bite, so I had to stop eating it. The reason i'm giving this 3 stars is because I wasn't filled and I felt that my wonton soup was mediocre. I mostly ordered this because it had cilantro in it, but the whole dish was great. Wish I took a picture of it. The hand pulled noodles were absolutely delicious, the beef brisket tasted great, and the broth really set itself apart from other noodle soups I've had.
