Well, we found an entire treasure chest when we chose to eat at the Noodle Street Restaurant, right here in wonderful Irvine. We're going to list the things we'd like to bring to everyone's attention: 1. Service was outstanding (5-star). 2. The menu was fantastic, with many unique options (5-star). 3. The quality of the food was (5-star). 4. Portion sizes were in the solidly "large" range (5-star). 5. Best "Black Iced Tea with Lemon" that I have ever tasted in my life. It was large, cold, fragrant, and had an amazing flavor. Just Wow! (5-star). 6. Extremely fast service (5-star). 7. Prices were extremely reasonable, especially when you consider the large portion sizes (5-star). 8. The cleanliness and atmosphere of the restaurant was (5-star). 9. Plenty of indoor seating (5-star). 10. Again another great "overall" (5-star) rating. We were also fortunate in that we actually met the manager, and even spoke briefly with him. We were highly impressed with his demeanor, courtesy, and attention to detail. Like any captain of any well-run ship, he was a clear master of his environment, and his team were all phenomenally well-trained, efficient, and courteous. The man is a leader, and his team clearly worked to emulate his mannerisms and helpful attitude. We were extremely pleased. My wife and I are also big fans of Din Tai Fung in Costa Mesa, and we feel this specific Noodle Street restaurant, right here in Irvine, is far better. No joke. These folks know what they're doing. Been here about 4 times now and each time it has been great. No issues with the service at all and the place is very clean. You can see be entire kitchen at this location and the chefs making the orders in front of you. I've had the Korean BBQ w/rice which is delicious. The meat is all tender and no fatty pieces. The seasoning and the flavor is great. I've had the stir fried noodles w/chicken. The noodles are very good and the chicken is alright. The noodles have a smoky flavor which is different and actually works well with the noodles. I've also tried their appetizers of beef roll pancake, lamb skewers, and beef stuffed pancake. I like the beef roll pancake the best that comes with a side of a dark sweet sauce for dipping. The Fullerton location has dumplings which were very delicious. I wish the Irvine location had them as it is closer to me. Definitely recommend this place to try and it's on our list of places that we continue to go back to. read more

This restaurant wasn't crowded when I went and the interior is very nice and new. It's a good date spot with nice lighting. I had the beef roll, the spicy cold noodles (Liangpi) and the beef noodle soup. The staff were friendly and service was fast. The beef roll was very good. The breading was soft and crunchy and fried perfectly, there was a lot of green onions though and not much meat. The beef noodle soup was good, but the broth was a bit bland. I would not recommend it. I really enjoyed the spicy cold noodles! It was one of the best that I"ve had in the Irvine area and it even had seitan which is rare to see. The noodles could be a bit softer, but I'm also comparing it to the best. This dish is good enough to make me come back if I'm craving Liangpi. read more

I opted for knife cut noods and it was *chef's kiss* amazing. It had the perfect QQ texture - my only complaint is that the noodles could have been a little wider. But still good taste and texture. The broth was really good too. Filled with cilantro, green onions, veg and Chinese pickled greens. The flavor mixed together was really good. Noodle St is a decent option that hits the spot when you have a strong craving and you're in this particular area of Irvine. But if you're looking for great noodles, unfortunately it doesn't quite hold up compared to other spots in Irvine. That being said - the competition is tight in Irvine and anywhere else I think it'd be 4-stars. I do recommend the Signature Beef Noodle soup - and if you're worried about spice, even though it's in the photo you can ask for it without any spice. The food on the other hand was just ok. I so desperately wanted to love every dish but, in the end, my favorite was the sweet watermelon juice and none of the food. We ordered a fried noodle with chicken. That noodle was a bit too al dente. The beef soup noodle sowas too salty but not really flavorful. We ordered several appetizers - all fried - tofu, scallion pancakes, potato string wrap shrimp, and calamari. The only thing I thought that was remotely interesting was the potato string shrimp. The scallion pancakes were OK, but they were so oily that we ended up not eating them. Also, I recently discovered scallion pancakes in the frozen section of Trader Joe's that tasted better... Wanted to try a local noodle spot and so glad we found a now "go to" noodle restaurant. We were sat right away for a Saturday night dinner (around 5 PM) so it was before the rush hour. The restaurant started filling up as soon as we were leaving. The service was super quick! If you are looking for quality noodles, service, and to get in and out, this is the spot. Yum! So happy that Noodle St made its way to Irvine. The menu is a little different here compared to the Fullerton location (also seemed like there was less on this menu). Indoor seating only, and this location is a little more modern and less seating (more spaced out). There is also a takeout section at the front of the store (both for food & drinks). A friend had recommended this place, so my boyfriend and I stopped by a couple weekends ago. We were greeted with a super cute interior and authentic Chinese food. We tried a little bit of everything: the cucumber salad, crispy tofu, beef roll, and spicy beef noodle soup. The Signature Beef Noodle Soup looked really spicy 'cause of the red sauce coloring, but it was only slightly spicy, nothing bad. The soup was so good and flavorful! The Bone in Rib Noodle soup was good too, but I prefer the Signature Beef Noodle Soup instead. The Bone in Rib Noodle soup wasn't as flavorful as the signature one. The meat on the bones tasted pretty good, but not enough meat and the meat didn't slide off the bone, it took a bit of force. Finally! This is the same Noodle St that is in Fullerton. The Signature noodle soup with sliced shank with medium spice is a perfect balance of salt and heat. The noodles were nice and chewy. Remember, you can get knife cut or round. They have chili oil and vinegar on the side if you wanted to jazz it up more to your preference. We also ordered their lamb skewers and it never disappoints! To add to our meal, we ordered their scallion beef pancakes which came out piping hot. It is filled with cilantro and green onions so if you're not a fan, let them know. The only down side to this location is that they don't offer XLB or dumplings. The food is good with or without dumplings involved. read more

New noodle place in Irvine. Was not crowded as it was a weeknight and it had been open for only a few days. Spicy Beef Noodle (Friend's order; I had a bite): Loved the herbs and the veggies in the soup. Friend prefers thicker soup with more depth but I appreciated the simplicity of the soup. He enjoyed the beef chunks and gave the dish 4 stars. Braised Chicken Noodle: The slow braised chicken was really good and the portion was generous. Enjoyed the crisp green and red bell peppers and the sauce was so savory. However, the potato chunks were huge and massively undercooked. I tried every piece and nothing was fully cooked. Either cut the potatoes smaller or if you want to match the size with the chicken and the bell pepper pieces, cook in that savory broth before putting the dish together in the wok. Also, the knife cut noodle was too uneven in thickness and width. You get everything from overcooked thin noodle to undercooked (not al dante) thick noodle. Please try to make it more even; I don't expect identical noodle strands. Scallion Pancake: Not the layered/laminated style but thin and crispy. There was enough scallion for your taste buds to pick up that fragrant scallion taste. Pancake stayed crispy 'til the end and it went well with the vinegar on the table. Chilli Oil: Was very disappointed with the oil as I love trying chilli oils at different places (there is that much variety and no two oils are the same!). It was not tasty or fragrant; it was just ashy. Had a 1/8 teaspoon and stopped. The restaurant was clean, the open kitchen was nice, the server was courteous, and the decor was spot on.
