This place serves a solid bowl of pho. The broth had a nice depth of flavor, the noodles were pleasantly chewy, and the meat was cooked well. My only complaints about the pho itself are that I wish the soup had come out hotter, and there was a giant piece of tripe in my bowl that hadn't been cut down at all. That said, there were a few things that left me confused. I ordered the Pho Combination by pointing to the photo on the menu, which clearly showed a beef rib and was labeled as the combination pho. When my bowl arrived, there was no rib included. Maybe there was some misunderstanding, but it felt a bit misleading. I ended up ordering the rib on the side for an additional $6, and it didn't arrive until I was already halfway through my meal. Our waiter recommended the sautéed scallion corn, so we decided to give it a try. The dish was a bit confusing. When I think of a corn appetizer, I expect either a smaller portion or something that's meant to be shared alongside other dishes. Instead, it was just a large bowl of corn. Since the menu is mostly pho, noodles, and rice dishes, it didn't really feel like it paired naturally with anything we ordered. I ordered Horchata because I was in the mood for something sweet and the drink tasted like water. I also ordered the popcorn chicken per the picture, but I feel like I got bait and switched i.e. the photo that was uploaded. It's definitely very Americanized and more of a fusion flare. This place is decent if it's overcast and you don't want to drive 20 min up the 405 or 5/22 to Little Saigon area. The broth is alittle watery but plus side, it's not salty. The brisket is super thin and tender, but not a lot of meat to noodle ratio. I was still pretty hungry and drank more broth for the protein. My friend ordered the pho combo. The menu pic is alittle misleading because it shows the rib bone add-on. It's a spacious interior and you can also eat in the communal patio outside. I've been wanting to find a place similar to Phoholic or Sup Noodle Bar, and I'm glad to say that they have exceeded my expectations. They are definitely more similar to Sup as they also have other dishes like fried rice or garlic noodles aside from pho. Came with a friend on a Monday night around 6:30pm and it was only a bit busy so we were immediately seated. Staff were very attentive throughout and made sure we were doing good throughout our meal. I got the rib eye pho while my friend got the brisket pho, you can't really go wrong with either as they are both similar. We also got egg rolls to share as appetizer (there were two pieces so we each had one.) The egg rolls were hot and crispy. I really liked the filling that was in them. The sauce also paired well. The soup was very flavorful and had the right amount of saltiness. The rib eye was tender and portion was generous. I like how they offer free refills of the noodles, but I was only able to finish the bowl that was initially given, but it's definitely nice for those who want to eat a lot of noodles. We are frequent SUP noodles customers but Soup Shop was recommended to us by friends and family so we decided to check it out. On a Friday night, I knew it would get busy, especially the location near Irvine Spectrum. My daughter and I came by 5:15pm while the parking lot at Los Olivos was still not too crowded. We were seated right away. We ordered our usual Pho Combination and Pho Brisket. My daughter wanted to try their Cajun Garlic Fries. Their fries were good but garlic might be slightly burned and presented at the bottom instead of on top of the fries. The green sauce was very tasty and spicy at the same time. Their pho portions were huge and impressive with a very generous amount of meat. We ate the noodles and part of the meat but still had so much meat leftovers. I remember one of my family said they have free extra noodles, so I asked one of the wait staff. At the same time, I asked them to put in a TOGO container and as well as 2 TOGO soup containers. I'm glad we decided to take the leftover home as the leftover was enough for us to make another meal out of it. A few things I notice: 1. They have wider options than SUP, such as rice and garlic noodles. The table behind us ordered both rice and garlic noodle dishes and they looked delicious. We would like to try that next time. The rice and garlic noodle options will be great for families with kids. 2. They do not advertise free extra noodles per Pho like SUP. But, their extra noodle portion is double SUP. 3. Recently visited here for a catch up lunch with old partners and colleagues. Had their special pho with a rib bone. Meat was super tender. It's an extra cost for it but if you never experience it before, it's something you try once to get the full flavor of the beef meat on a bone. Service is great as they were attentive to my request for extra tableware. One thing that I don't like about pho shops, and this goes for all, is the strong smell that it lingers on to your clothes. The broth lacked more depth, IMO. The high cost of a bowl didn't justify it for me. The fam did appreciate the free noodle refills, as they surely took advantage of it. My filet mignon was cooked perfectly and was tender & flavorful. The garlic noods was good as well, but all in all very similar to many other places out there. Nothing wildly memorable or stood out. First things first... Why is there cheese at a Vietnamese restaurant? Second... Why is there broccoli in the pho? Third... Why is the seasoning just thrown on the chicken to add spice as opposed to a sauce cooked into the chicken as pictured on their menu? This Vietnamese restaurant is more of an Asian fusion style, not authentic Vietnamese food. Our server also forgot to put in our appetizer order, so the entree came out first. Our table ordered three drinks (horchata, passion fruit juice with lychee jelly, and jasmine milk tea). The horchata was very watery, the passion fruit juice was overly sweet but still yummy, and the jasmine milk tea was well balanced and definitely our favorite drink of the bunch. The pho broth was a little bland, and we didn't get any onions or lime on the side like usual. The ribeye in it was overcooked and chewy. They also had a small appetizer menu with limited shareable options, but the pho portion was big and able to be shared amongst all three of us. Tried pho for the very first time and it was nothing short of amazing. We came here with a group of friends after mini golf, and the experience started off great. The host greeted us warmly and let us choose where we wanted to sit. The seating was comfortable, the décor was nice, and the lighting created a really pleasant atmosphere. I also appreciated the menu design--high-quality, colorful pictures made it easy to understand the dishes, which definitely helped since it was my first time trying pho. We ordered the popcorn chicken as an appetizer and our server offered some hot sauce like a chili paste which was really good. And I went with the brisket pho. They brought out bean sprouts, basil, and lemon wedges on the side, which added a nice fresh touch. The food came out quickly, and the servers were attentive throughout--checking in on us and refilling water regularly. The interior was new and bright. The restaurant was clean and spacious. The menu had pictures of all the dishes available which made it easy to choose a dish. it was a very modern take on traditional Vietnamese dishes. I got the combination pho. I liked that they julienned the scallion onions which elevated the taste. The bowl came with a lot of meat. I ended up running out of pho noodles and had a ton of meat left. Overall, it did not disappoint and I would give it a 4/5. Don't forget to ask for the house sate sauce and sliced white onions in vinegar! read more

Parking can be quite challenging during lunch rush. Took 3 rounds and luckily snagged a spot nearby. Broth 5/5 Taste was perfect and has just the perfect amount of oil. Temperature of the broth was spot on. Rib bone pho 4/5 - I was surprised that I got 3 bones in my bowl. 2/3 bones were good.The one that wasn't good ending up turning into mini shredded beef pieces. The rice noodles could use some work. Not enough portions to fill up a standard bowl. I wouldn't want to ask for a refill either. Condiments station - is well stocked. Overall this place is Pho Certified. Prices are justified and environment is business casual. Ambience is definitely lively as Vietnamese pho places aren't usually loud.
