    where you go to order

Sandi and I stopped in to try out the local flavor of Noodles and Company. This location has Covid 19 proofed the building. The tables at the booths were removed. Every other table was marked closed. The tables with the high swivel chairs were still available. Most of the business was carry out and delivery. Pasta is great comfort food and it rules.

IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES AVOID THIS LOCATION! I frequently order from this restaurant and they consistently mess up my order. Every single time. Although this was the worst because I have allergies. I order my food and specify what I want (grilled orange chicken lo mein) I substitute rice noodles because I also have a gluten allergy. I found mushrooms in my food (AFTER I already ate a bite as they were hidden on the bottom) and there aren't supposed to be any in this dish which is why I order it. I call the restaurant and let them know the situation and they offer to make a new one. I arrive and have to wait 15 minutes for them to remake this and the whole time the employees were just messing around and taking their time not being very careful obviously. I did not receive a refund, and am extremely dissatisfied with the quality of service. The attached picture is what it should look like (on the top) and what I received the first time (on the bottom).

Is it odd that I've never ordered noodles at Noodles & Company? I'm really surprised that N&C has a solid Tomato Basil Bisque (Rich and zesty tomato soup with cream, sherry, basil and garlic) though. For some reason, tomato soup is easy to get too water-y/flavors not developed enough but Noodles & Company's version isn't too shabby. I usually order it with a side of parmesan crusted chicken. It's not very crusted and the chicken looks like it definitely came out of a vacuum-sealed bag, but the flavors are there! I've also had the med salad (Grilled chicken, romaine, mixed greens, tomato, cucumber, red onion, Kalamata olives, cavatappi pasta, spicy yogurt dressing and feta), which was also pretty good. The cavatappi pasta is a nice touch - ha. The spicy yogurt dressing is a little bit on the salty side but I always get it on the side so that helps! Overall, Noodles & Company is a pretty good value. This location has a meeting room in the back - which is the only reason why I go to Noodles & Company.

If you have never been to a Noodles & Company restaurant, I highly recommend that you go give the place a try. I recently went to the one on the east side of Bloomington with one of my kids. They have an extensive selection of pasta dishes of various types from all over the world. I got the Thai green curry with shrimp. My son got the pad thai with chicken. They were both excellent. We both got sodas, and they were served in genuine glass bottles! Go figure! You order your food at the counter, and then they bring it to you. We ordered our food and then went and sit outside because it was a nice day. Our food was brought to us by the manager of the place who was very friendly, and courteous. For that matter, so was everyone else there. The atmosphere was nice, and it was clean. The prices were fair for what we got. Nice meal, on a nice day. Five stars.

Wish I could leave ZERO stars! Let us discuss a recent visit and why we will never return to this location. Leaving out the "why" a piss poor review is important for brevity. Suffice to say - an ordering mistake I owned in my initial complaint only scratches the surface of what mind-blowing (mis)behaviour the manager, "Charles in charge" exhibited at lunch yesterday. Saving Grace: very responsive district mgr assuring me this was highly unacceptable. Explained: As I was finishing my meal, sitting by myself, this "manager" waddled over to my table and confronted me with the following dialogue (Warning: major creep factor here): "SIR, You just left a bad review at my restaurant and I want to know why!" Truth be told my phone was set aside for this verbal assault, and I was not quite finished with my "receipt asking how are we doing assessment". Onward, I was stunned at his lightning speed - he was most certainly On It (what, in back on the company desktop waiting to pounce!?). I was not going to be pulled into his middle school student confrontation and in a relatively polite (stern?) manner replied along the lines of there need not be an explanation (subtext: Get OVER it, pal). Increased aggravation led him to continue his interrogation and unsatisfactory as it was, he proceeded to (we're escalating now apparently) Ask me to leave his restaurant (I was not ready to leave, I have an hour lunch break - yay me) Defeated and as a customer was walking in I got up to hear the closing insult, "Have a nice day, Sir ... thanks for being an ass." Real nice. This is management material written all over him - in black Sharpie on his fat forehead!

Noodles & Company is one of my favorite 'comfort food' chains. Like all of their restaurants the meals come out fast, hot and fresh. There's never any surprises with taste, like most chains they keep everything fairly consistent from one to another. My favorites here are Wisconsin Mac 'n Cheese with Parmesan Crusted Chicken and the Penne Rosa with Feta. Both are super simple and tasty. Something different from any other Noodle & Co I've been too is the conference room in the back. Wasn't expecting that. Bathrooms are past the conference room and are kept very clean and tidy. Oh, there's also some covered outdoor seating in the front, not a lot of tables but very nice.

Three stars just for the fact that every meal is easily vegetarian with the substitution of tofu into it. And their tofu is good- seasoned and pan seared. The cashier was nice and efficient. No complaints about the food which is my experience at every location. I also appreciate that they have a couple of outdoor tables. However they are placed awkwardly at the front door on the sidewalk overlooking the parking lot and this area has less-than-zero charm or comfort. This particular day no employee was attending the dining room. Not once was a table cleaned between the many patrons and finding a suitable surface to eat on was difficult. Ick.

One of the many chunks of actual carbon in our garbage order of penne rosa

Almost 4000 milligrams of sodium in the spicy Korean beef bowl. This dish will literally potentially kill you. Be warned! This is not clean eating. Also, this dish is promoted, but has an up charge of $3.50.

    Eating by myself!

Sadly, the only photo I snapped during our visit was of the menu because I didn't want to be on my phone + it was communal seating, so we were busy make friends and eating delicious food. We loved one of the bottles of wine that was paired with one of our courses, so we put in an order for one. I got called that it was already ready for pickup a few days later, hence the second visit so soon (turned my wine pickup errand into a lunch stop with my work besties). The second Saturday dinner was an absolute blast. From 6:30-7 they had 3 of the most incredible appetizers and glasses of champagne during a little social (half) hour. Then we all transitioned to the main dining area to start the rest of the paired courses from 7-10. They have limited two top tables along the hallway going into the main dining area, so everyone else was paired with another couple or groups of people, depending on if you sat at a table along the back wall or one of the big dining tables. We sat with another couple along the back wall and it was really fun getting to know them over the several hours everyone was having dinner and wine together. My husband and I are usually very introverted, but a few glasses of wine definitely makes me feel more brave lol. Each course was equally delicious, but the ricotta-stuffed beet tortellini was my personal favorite. The staff told us a little bit about each course after everyone had been served and they let us know the chef handmade all of the pasta and intentionally had a heart-shaped indentation on them when they were folded together for Valentine's Day. Each dish was so creative and paired perfectly with each wine that the sommelier poured for us. Overall, such a fun experience and an interesting way to spend Valentine's Day. When it was time to go back in and pick up our bottle of wine I asked a couple of work friends if they wanted to go with me to have lunch there. We also sat at a table on the back wall so my pregnant friend could be more comfortable (booth type seating on the back wall and then chairs on the other side). My other friend and I each got a Prosecco split, which was delicious. I also got a cappuccino because I can't pass up a coffee from anywhere, it would seem. I got us the marinated olives to all try and they were really good, with a fruity kick from the citrus peels added in. All three of us got the tuna melt and salad and it was really good and warming for the chilly day. All three of us felt that the tuna was masked by the cheese and peppers/onions. It is definitely a good sandwich for people who don't like overpowering fish flavor, but we all like tuna and wished we could have tasted it a little more. I can't wait to come back and try some more pasta dishes.

Looking forward to going back. Loved the cozy vibe. Pasta was very good as to be expected. Pay at…read morethe counter when you order and your food is brought to you.

I got the basil pesto cavatappi here and it was just okay. The pasta seemed freshly cooked but the pesto sauce was just unremarkable. I got the small size as part of the duo with a side salad, and the small size is pretty large for a "small". The garden salad was good and fresh. This is in line with my food experience at the other location - there are a few dishes I've tried that have made me say "Oh, this is actually pretty good," but they're mostly just fine. I mostly go if I just want something fast that feels like a real meal and not fast food slop. I think I like the other location a lot better because the service is way friendlier (just based on this visit) and they have real plates and silverware when you dine in. This location bags everything to go even if you tell them you want to dine in, and the staff came across as very unenthusiastic.

Another liked her muffaletta, but wished she'd ordered more than a cold sandwich - as tall and as full as it was. My partner and I shared the meatball grinder appetizer. Best meatball I've ever had. There were three meatballs (each one looked as big as a tennis ball!) with little garlic crostinis circling them on the plate. We each ate one and took the other home, which he happily ate the next day. Delicious! Our hostess/server Lanie was the hardest working server I've ever seen, and always with a smile that carried to her voice and eyes. Although we went there to check out mosaic supplies in an art store, I'd easily go back here just for the food! Inside, the restaurant was Diner-noisy. Outside in the pavilion, it was very pleasant.

We went on Valentine's Day and there was probably 1 server for each table, so they added to the noise as well. And the esthetics of the dining area left a lot to be desired with what should be behind a wall is instead in the dining area and not covered. So onto the food. While good, $19+ for a sandwich and kettle chips is pretty steep no matter how you cut it. Speaking of cutting it, I ordered the Spicy Arriabiata which was slic3d so awkwardly it was almost impossible to eat as a sandwich. Instead of being cute, try slicing it in half so it can be eaten next time. Overall the food was actually good, service was good and properly attentive. Will I go back? Probably not. Kind of feels like a been there, done that type of experience. Dinner for 2 with a cocktail and wine and 2 sandwiches cost $85. Probably cancel spend that elsewhere and get a better dinner.
