I came specifically for Zoodles shrimp scampi, but they no longer had this option. I'm unsure if the person I ordered with was unaware, but eventually, another staff approached to assist and informed me that it was no longer an option. Not making suggestions for a replacement. The staff was kind enough to provide a menu that I could review instead of looking up at the larger wall menu. I went with the regular Pesto Zucchini zoodles, which have basil pesto, grilled chicken, tomatoes, mushrooms, and parmesan. I added shrimp and removed tomatoes. The Pesto zucchini was amazing for an option that isn't all carbs but high in vegetables and protein. The zoodles were prepared perfectly, and the flavor was very good. A decent meal, fast. You'll see the menu board with pictures of each item right when you walk in the front door; various salads and noodle bowls, all made to order. You can add a variety of things like meat, or spinach, cheese, or whatever. Step right up to the counter when you're ready to order, then find a table to display your number. When your order is ready, someone will find you. The dining area is a mixture of high top and regular tables, but there is even a small bar area in case you want to watch the employees do their stuff. There is also a patio available when the weather permits al fresco dining. The Caesar salad with grilled chicken was outstanding. Crisp, Romaine lettuce, shredded parmesan, focaccia croutons. It's generously sized and reasonably priced at $8.39. The croutons are beautifully crunchy with great flavor and although I forgot to request dressing OTS, it ended up with just the right amount. I also sampled Hubby's Japanese Pan Noodles. The noodles were thick and hearty, and full of flavor. Probably not worth the marinated steak add on of $2.75 for the amount of steak that was added, but overall the dish was delicious. I love that you can get fresh food, fast, and that they use quality ingredients. I want to like this place, I really do. But there are a few nagging things that just prevent me from liking it. The food has gotten better since they opened. I ate there in 2010 when they first opened in the Crossroads location, and the food was bland and ordinary. It was tolerable, but there was nothing special to it. Since then, they've diversified their menu a bit, and the quality of the food has improved. The pad thai, japanese pan noodles, and seasonal offerings are top notch. But there are some secondary issues that kill the whole dining experience. The menuboard is just poorly placed. It's *right* in front of the door. Thus, when you walk in, you're immediately obstructing the entrance and exit. if you want to look at the menu. The only other menu display is right at the ordering stations, so there's no real place to look at the menu and mull options. You either have pushy, self-important Cary-ites getting pissy because you're at the door or because you're standing at the register...and *they* can't order. The Coke Freestyle machine is awesome, but again, there's a traffic congestion issue, since it's right in the path from the order stations to the dining room. Moreover, the floors are perpetually wet from spillage. The staff is just obnoxiously aggressive about clearing empty plates from the table. They're not rude...just excruciatingly overzealous when they see an empty plate...anywhere...anytime. I've had them break right into table conversations without so much as an "excuse me" to grab plates. There's no sense of (much less respect for) personal space. I've had employees lean against me to grab plates because they can't wait for us to hand plates to them. If clean plates are in THAT short supply, order more! Is there a utensil you're still using on a plate they want to clear? Whoops! Is there still food you're going to eat on the plate they want to clear? Whoops! Train the staff to be more aware of the customers. There's no need to be that aggressive at the table-service level. We don't need to feel like we're being rushed out--especially when we're still eating. Like I said, the food has gotten better, but the environment (especially in a meal rush) just makes the overall experience miserable at times. read more

Dude, for an additional $2.50, I can buy two blocks of tofu and make this dish for less than what this place charged me. - Portion size. If you're going to charge me $6 for a "regular" size portion, it better be family style size, but it's not. I left with room to fill my belly. - Climate control. I rarely talk about a restaurant's indoor climate, but dudes, my friend and I practically freezed our butts off in here! I think I ate fast just to get back outside into the warmth. Maybe the more western style noodle dishes are decent, but I didn't try that, so you'll have to deal with my review of disappointment.
