One of the best dining experiences on campus (only a few minutes' walk from the Reg/Max P). Definitely recommend noodles dishes and curry dishes here. Absolutely fantastic meals!

The Man & the legendary location :-) Definitely worth the hype!

Great location near to universities and walkable neighborhoods. The crowd was very diverse from students to what appeared to be a ladies afternoon lunch group to couples to law-enforcement of Asian descent. My date and I blended right in! As my date was born and raised in Chicago, and often talked about not being able to find drunken noodles in other cities, it was a no-brainer when he asked me where I wanted to eat during our trip last week. I was not disappointed at all! The drunken noodles came with heat level from regular to 911. My date selection was 911, of course. The Tom Kha soup, lack the presentation received, but the content was equally good. Actually welcomed emphatically due to the cold temperatures. I also had the garlic udon noodles (normal sauce) with shrimp. Very tasty and well seasoned. Included a room, temperature, Vietnamese, tea, since hot was not an option and a hot Vietnamese coffee to go! Everything was delicious and great service throughout. Will definitely return during my next visit.

Had a good lunch here recently when out doing shopping and business. It gets a little busy at lunch. Noodles Etc. is another place that's popular with Hyde Park locals, including UC faculty and students. Certainly has a casual feel. This isn't anything fancy, and the prices reflect this. Because it was cold I needed to get something warm of course. It's hard to beat noodles and soup in this kind of situation. Thankfully this was pretty close so I got over here and got a table. It has a lot of different broths and noodles. Most of the entrees use broths made from animal products. A few don't. The best one of these is the Vegetable Noodle. It's $8.50 for a pretty big bowl. This has bean sprouts and rice noodles. Certainly if around here I would come back. It makes a very good lunch. This is best when it's freezing cold outside.

Stopped in when Medici was closed. This was a good pivot! We ordered a bunch of stuff off the appetizer section and it was all tasty! Service was friendly and food came out very quickly as well.

This was my first visit. I ordered several appetizers and my favorite was the egg rolls (shrimp and pork). Didn't think the chicken satay had much flavor but it was fresh and hot. My entree was really good - drunken noodles with chicken. It's also very clean with attentive servers even though quite a busy Saturday afternoon crowd. Great portions for the money and street parking

The last time I ate from here was six years ago. I worked in the Hyde Park area. My coworkers and I would order from here often. Well let me tell you something (Young Jeezy Verzuz voice)...They are still delicious!!!!! I usually order through Door Dash but didn't today and I found you guys on Grubhub! I ordered my old time usual.... 911 spicy Beef Pad Se Ew and a Lemonade. My Pad Se Ew was hottttt just like I ordered. So delicious and hot! It had a slight sweet undertone, tender beef, broccoli was cooked to perfection and it was saucy just like I like it. The Lemonade is sweet (not cloyingly sweet), tart and refreshing. I don't think it's freshly squeezed but it's delicious. Noodles Etc has great Thai Food that is very reasonably priced!! Check them out you won't be disappointed!! *** Sorry I was so ravenous I ate before I took my pics)

Very laid back spot in Hyde Park that can get super busy quickly. This is not your typical dine-in restaurant. You go in and (1) select your seat and view the menu from a QR or (2) ask for menus up front and find a seat. Either way, you order and pay up front at one of 2 desks and everything is brought out to you as it's made. They are very busy with takeout. I have yet to try an appetizer I don't enjoy! I particularly like the Gyoza and BBQ pork spicy rolls. Each time I go I try a different dish, and the portions are enough for a midnight snack. My last dish (stir-fried vegetables) needed a little more seasoning, but nothing a lot hot sauce couldn't fix. Prices were fair. Overall, I will go again!

I'm back! Met a friend here in this lively spot. Oh! The food was good too! So I came back! Having the baby chicken rolls and chicken panang (sp).

The cold gluten salad is a true highlight here, with an impeccable springy texture and an absolutely perfect mix of chili oil and sesame in the seasoning. The flatbread was also a standout, being perfectly crunchy and flavorful alongside a cumin lamb with a good punch. I was less impressed by the hand-pulled noodles. The soup itself was fine, as were the lamb intestines (though I really prefer them grilled). However, for hand-stretched noodles, the noodles were just lacking and missing something. Maybe wheat noodles get better the further west you go, and it just isn't quite Lanzhou style.

I tried the biang biang noodles, but which was a bit bibimbap-esque with the tomato and egg, black bean pork, braised beef, and minced sauce. This was awesome as I love each ingredient individually but normally can't choose between which noodle bow I want. Mixed together, this creates a heavenly flavor of sweet, sour, and umami. The biang biang noodles were thick, chewy and bouncy, and like wider longer belts. The texture was actually so addicting and I devoured my bowl almost instantly. My friend got the Szechuan spicy vermicelli pot with beef, but this needed a bit more flavor and spice. Adding vinegar helped! Our server was super nice and friendly and helped us pack all our leftovers too.

I'd ordered Homura, and stepped away to wash my hands. Just as I was sitting down, the bowl of hot fresh goodness was placed in front of me. Even when the place was busy, the service remains lighting-quick! friendly and attentive too! As for the bowl, it was absolutely fantastic! Upon mixing, everything went together perfectly. The flavors were tremendously savory and rich, with accents from the egg, seasonings, veggies, and a healthy amount of meat. The noodles were cooked perfectly too! The bowl was perfect as is, and needed nothing. I was worried the bowl would be dry, but this couldn't be farther from the truth, especially with the ladle of liquid on the bottom, everything was perfect! Now, there are various seasonings and flavor enhancers on the table, but they weren't needed, in my opinion. If you do choose to add some, be careful, as some pour fast and heavy! After happily slurping this thing down in record time, I also ordered a single helping of Chashu, as I generally love it and wanted to try. It too was brought to me in no time, and was thin, well balanced, and melted in my mouth. Where it comes to value, the bowl was $13.50, and the slice of chashu was $1.50, IIRC. Great, especially in light of what everything costs nowadays. Final verdict: Kajiken came, and it DELIVERED. Everything from start to finish was top notch, and for a very fair value of $13.50 for a fresh, tasty, and filling bowl of goodness.

But the ambiance of the restaurant was really nice and clean, decorated with lanterns and a wood themed interior The ramen was pretty lackluster - the noodles were very tough and under done and the broth was less savory than I would've liked for a tonkotsu. The soba noodles were flavorful but also could've been cooked better. For a $20+ dish I felt the portions were disappointing, especially since I think I was missing some toppings Overall, id be down to eat here again and would probably have a better experience the second time around if dining in instead

MingHin was packed, loud, and a little chaotic. Worth it. Dim sum is an experience as much as a meal and MingHin delivers on both fronts. We ordered more than we could keep track of. Soup dumplings that immediately became the kids' personal obsession. Shu mai that hit every time. BBQ pork buns in every form they offered because obviously. Chinese broccoli to balance out the indulgence. Everything was solid, fresh, and exactly what you want from a dim sum spread. The room was packed and buzzing but the service kept up impressively. Servers were constantly circling, clearing empty plates and dishes without missing a beat. Clean and attentive even at full capacity, which is no small thing. Fair warning if you are bringing little ones: this environment is a lot. The noise, the crowd, the overwhelming parade of food arriving at the table. Our kids loved what they ate but the sensory experience was a bit much for them. This is a place better suited for a group of adventurous adults or older kids who thrive in high energy environments.
