I came across this spot during my adventures up and down Rt 59 - looking for different cuisines and choices. I was delighted to discover this is a BYOB spot, so without hesitation scheduled on two separate occasions - to host my group of foodie friends. It turns out that Thursday is their least busy day, so we dined here on that specific day. Got sterling service, almost personal level :). The portions were very generous, very tasty, very colorful, lots and lots of choices and very reasonably priced too! The place is medium to small sized, so better to be early in order to ensure seating. Their fruit smoothies (with little beads - tapioca? in them) were extremely popular and practically every young kid (and groups of kids) who walked in off the street ordered those as carry out beverages instead of the food. Very family friendly, clean and plenty of parking in the strip mall lot next to usual shopping choices. For the appetizers we did - Chicken Rolls, main courses were Vietnamese Fried Rice, Green Mango Salad with Shrimp, Standard Pho (e.g. Beef Noodle Soup with every vegetable in it - quite filling) and Mongolian Delight. So I am nearly at the full term of my pregnancy and have been craving noodles and broth for the last couple of months. Now those Ramen packets are a big no-no for me, so I was going crazy to get some noodles in my system. I live around the area and nobody had what I was looking for. After my OB appointment last week, I was really craving badly and my mom suggested I go with all the girls in the family to this small place in a strip mall. I honestly wasn't expecting much, but when we walked into the restaurant, I was blown away from the smells! My pregnant craving self was absolutely salivating! I was so excited! The super-kind waiter suggested dishes from the menu because we told him it was our first time there and I almost screamed "Where are your noodle dishes?!" He showed me the page and I started reading on. I ordered a pho bowl and it was served with delicate Thai basil, bean sprouts and freshly cut Jalapeño. It was spicy, noodly and everything I could have wanted right there. I was so impressed by how fast everyone got their food and how clean the place was. This review is based on four visits. (I'm stubborn and had my fingers crossed that each experience was an aboration, I was wrong). If you have any doubt about this review, please order any of the beef pho dishes or beef stew. The beef is either missing or inedible. Today I had the beef stew. What a joke. Three little pieces of fat with a smidge of beef attached. Imagine you were trimming a packer brisket or big Chuck roast before cooking it, those pieces that you would throw out, that's what they use for their dishes. All of my four meals here were the same. Small discardable pieces of meat obscured by hunks of fat or gristle. Not marbled meat, but fat fat fat. So consistent is the presentation of gristle and fat masquerading as meat that I actually wondered if that is how these dishes are supposed to be made. It's not. If you decide to go here, sick with the chicken pho, they don't F that up. read more

This place is great, the environment is what you would expect from a noodle house but a step up. The owners/managers are really friendly, and the product was certainly on point! Not worthied for the price. I ordered curry chicken last night, the portion had a lot of pepper, barely see a chicken and also rice is so small. This is my first experience that rice is so small on an Asian restaurant. Very cheap quality of food, not tasty.....so please don't waste your money on this restaurant. It was Friday evening around 7:30 pm. We decided to give this restaurant a try. What a mistake! We order one Udon Noodle Soup and two Korean Seafood Stone Bowl Rice. After waited 60 minutes we finally got our food. Udon Noodle Soup had very very small quantity noodles. The Korean Stone Bowl Rice was totally a disaster. 1. First, on the menu clearly said topped with Kimchee. NO, no Kimchee at all. We actually ask waiter for some Kimchee, he then brought us a tiny bowl with three leaves of Kimchee in there. 2. What "Hot Bean Paste"? Where is hot bean paste. The sea food and veggie stir fry on the top of the rice had no taste at all. It was not just NOT SPICY. It was totally NO TASTE AT ALL. The guy who is the manager I think is so rude! We have gone there multiple times and although the food is good, the attitude is very poor. When asked a question he responds in a sarcastic bored tone as if saying, take your food and get out. We always try try be calm but it becomes too much. We asked for chopsticks from two different employees and never received ANY !. Then when a family sat next to us they were given them immediately. They also didn't refill out waters until we were finished without food which had been empty since before we started eating. Not sure if we will be back there again. Absolutely horrible experienced!! How many times do you have a restaurant call you back to pick a fight over their mess up entree. I order beef soup with and extra tendon which I always did . I know how much they normally put it in for an extra $2.50. Because that's what I normally order Today I brought the food home and obviously . They didn't have any extra that they already charged me . So I call the restaurant back. The First Lady was nice and apologized . I don't even ask for refund for the money that I should get back. I told her if she can put it in my account so they can give me extra next time. 3 minutes later I got a call from the restaurant from the guy name Jarrod . Rudely speak to me and said that's an extra and that's all you can get . We would not give you anything more . Ok? I told him I'm not ok because the attitude that he talk to me. And he kept being rude and said I'm the one who count it and that's what we do. What do you do as the restaurant? Call the customer and pick a fight over$2.50 ? And food is not good quality . Been here twice so far, we are huge fans of pho. Prices are decent, and I like that they have expanded to include items other than vietnamese. I've tried their Bi Bim Bap, which was pretty good..and they do take out! Win! read more

We've been here a few times now and the food and service just keep getting worse. The quality of beef in the pho is poor and the chicken in pho ga is coated in something and is very slimy. We ordered 3 dishes, all of which were delivered so far apart we either weren't going to be able to eat at the same time or would have grown cold waiting for the next dish. Once the last dish (pho) was brought out, an hour and a half after we ordered it, we all just wanted to leave. The waiter/owner never once came to our table to tell us why our food was all coming out separately or why things were taking so long, nor did he ask how the food was after it was delivered. Nobody came by with water refills, the check, or to-go boxes. We had to walk to the bar and wait more than 10 minutes for the waiter/owner to ask what was needed. He just kept writing in his notebook on the bar or wiping down the bar area. Not sure what was going on but this was the third time we've gone in where the service was this bad and for only mediocre food, at best, it's just not worth the time or frustration. Our 2yr old and 4yr old were so agitated by the end of it all they even asked if we could "not come back". read more

Good place. Used to be Sesame Chinese and was only Chinese. Now includes Vietnamese and Thai food. Really extensive menu. Good service. This is a good place to have really nearby for decent Chinese food at a really reasonable price. (because there is another good Chinese place but it's more expensive and I can get really good Thai at another place). I love Vietnamese food. The ingredients are fresh and healthier than standard Chinese. I usually go into the city on Argyle St for authentic Vietnamese but for all the suburbanites who aren't interested in trekking to the city; this is a good enough alternative until you find yourself back within the city limits. It also cost about $1.50 more than the city restaurants but who wants to pay for the extra gas money to save $1.50 on a bowl of Pho? I ordered the Vietnamese bowl which is a cold noodle salad w/marinated meat and Vietnamese pickled veggies. I got the one with shrimp and pork. I was surprised to see a few pieces of perfectly marinated pork belly; yum. However, the actual pork was left in the fryer way too long and was close to being jerky. The shrimp was good and the flavored fish sauce was delish. My husband and son got the beef flank Pho and it was good. The Thai iced tea had too much ice and not enough condensed milk. Service was quick but not too friendly. When we walked in, there was an older Asian lady who was our waitress and I saw her roll her eyes the second we walked in the door. Even though there was only one other table being served. When we were seated she handed us our menus without greeting us. She simply placed the menus down and walked away. I later heard her telling another waiter that she was tired and ready to go home. I get it. Every one is tired but I don't want to hear about it. Noodles Pho U is a good alternative from going into the city but when headed into the city limits defiantly stop by Argyle St for a cheaper better tasting version of Vietnamese. read more

We ordered a lunch special lo mein for my daughter since it was less than $6.95. We didn't know that they had given us a dinner dish until the check came to us and was charged $10.25. When my husband informed the man of the discrepancy, he said he couldn't change it. Our original waitress was on a delivery, so she couldn't vouch for her mistake which was unfair for us. Came here with my girlfriend. We ordered the shrimp Summer Roll as an appetizer, I had Pho Dac Biet, and she ordered Stir Fried Soft Wheat noodles with chicken. The appetizer and Pho were great, however my girlfriend found that there was something very off with her chicken. I tasted it and agreed it was terrible, like it was sitting out for too long or something. One of the employees, I assume the manager, asked how everything was. We told her everything was great except the chicken tasted awful. She then went on to tell us that the owner buys all the meat fresh daily from a local butcher so there couldn't possibly be anything wrong with it. I asked her to taste it then and she declined. We were both taken aback basically she we telling us you don't like it too bad the problem is with you two. Another waitress stopped by a few minuets later and asked us how is everything and we again said everything is fine except the chicken is terrible. She said "oh" shrugged and walked away. The employees could care less if there was a problem with our food so why bother asking us how it is? I have experienced better service at fast food establishments. I would come back for the Pho and stay away from anything with chicken here. read more
