First time coming and I was happy to find such a place near Curtis Park. Though it might not look like much from the outside, I had very genuine service and felt a warm, welcoming coffee-shop- like vibe indoor. The food came out at a good pace and in a decent portion size. I ordered a Pad see ew with beef (mild spice) and was impressed with the texture of the beef and noodles. I would say, however, that the beef lacked some more flavor. The rest of the dish tasted great! My friends ordered a Tofu pad see ew and Tofu pad thai. The tofu pad see ew was very consistent with other reviews, but the pad thai was a little appeared and tasted a little more soggy than I would have liked. Overall, would come back to try some of their newer items on the list, but I still have my preferred Thai restaurants elsewhere. read more

I always order Pad See Ew when I get Thai, so it's hard for me to tell what places are good and what aren't...rice noodles are great almost anywhere lol! Noodles to Thai For is right across the street from Cafe Dantorels. We got a Thai tea, Tom Yum Pork Noodle Soup, Pineapple Fried Rice, and Yellow Curry. Walked in during primetime lunch, but I was the only person there the entire time. The air conditioner was off despite the warm day. I ordered my usual, Drunken Noodles/Pad Kee Mao. I have been wanting to try this little restaurant so I stopped by last Thursday to try it out. I arrived around 11:30 and was the only person at the restaurant. The waitress (who I think is the daughter of the chef?) was super nice and took my order quickly. The dining area is as small as the Yelp photos look btw. The decor was simple but fitting for the tiny area. It pains me a little give this place 4 stars (more like 3.5) as Noodles To Thai For is really cute and is also a family-run business, but I have to agree with others who reviewed the food--I already came with the expectation that I would be trying the Pad Thai to see for myself if it was sweet, and unfortunately it was definitely a bit too sweet for my palate. The sauce, while tamarind-y, was also quite thick and a bit too saucy, which is not what I prefer when I order Pad Thai. Personally I like a nice even coating of sauce on my noodles while keeping the wok-fired flavor. The noodles were nice and chewy and not overcooked at least, and the tofu and chicken were not dry at all. I asked for medium spicy but it was not very spicy at all. For $15, it was a good portion size, as I could not finish my plate, but I also attribute that to the heaviness of the sauce. I'm a pretty good eater on any given day, but I definitely think that if the sauce were lighter, I could have finished my lunch. I got the rest of the Pad Thai to go. Similarly, the Thai tea that I ordered was also pretty sweet. I like my tea strong but this wasn't it. It wasn't watered-down, but it also wasn't the best I've had. For $5.50 I expected a stronger tea. I also got the tea to go. And an amusing story about the straws that Noodles To Thai For uses. When my Thai tea arrived, I was given one of those cheap straws with an accordion (the ones that can be bent, I don't know the technical term for them). Upon opening the straw, my straw broke right at the accordion area. I could not drink my tea as there were air bubbles. I asked for another straw, which the waitress promptly obliged. However, that straw ended up breaking again at the accordion and I was too nice to not ask for another one. I simply closed the accordion and decided to use the straw without bending it. This is all to say that I think they should be investing in better restaurant supplies. Even their to-go boxes and cups are styrofoam, and there are now far better (and more environmentally-conscious) supplies out there. Unfortunately, this is one of the places where the mixed reviews are accurate for me. I may return just to try their other noodle dishes to see if those are also sweet (and maybe the boat noodle soup as it looks intriguing), but it's definitely not a place that I will be frequenting as often as I had hoped. read more

I mean, to start out, the pun of the name was enough to make this Sacramento foodie want to try this little "shack" of a Thai restaurant. My wife is Southeast Asian, and we have some Thai "regulars" in our rotation, but I finally made it a point for us to go out. It is a tiny (more or less) ten seater restaurant, with one server helping all of the tables. She was very friendly, and our water glasses were always full, which she was able to maintain whilst taking orders of other tables and preparing to go orders. Coincidentally, neither my wife nor I ordered noodles. She got the cashew chicken special (on the menu board), and I got the boiled chicken with rice and garlic sauce. My food was so simple, but very delicious. The garlic sauce had a mild kick to it....not overly spicy, but just the right amount. Very filling, and pretty reasonable (in both taste and quantity) for the price. I just asked my wife her thoughts, and she said she enjoyed it, but would prefer next time probably take out (she doesn't like "smaller" spaces....I didn't mind it). Love this place! Been here once for dine in but mostly have been doing take out. There's plenty of Thai places that are closer to me but I go here for their Tom Yum Noodles. There's no mild, medium or spicy levels. It's just spicy! The broth is super flavorful, hint of tartness, and savory. The noodles are tender, there's pork meat, and fish balls. Good portion size and the prices have remain consistent at ~$12. I've yet to try any other dishes because we crave the Tom Yum noodle. The owner is a thai lady, she's very nice. it's very small restaurant. Note that they close early and are closed on Sunday and Monday. I usually call ahead because some times they close for extended period as well. There's usually some street parking available. read more

There is no pad see ew in Sacramento like pad see ew from Noodles To Thai For. We have been here three or four times now, and I get the pad see ew every time. I mean it when I say I daydream about this place; it's also the only pad see ew in Sacramento that uses Chinese broccoli, which I think goes way better with the dish than regular broccoli. I mean this place's noodles are just to die for. My boyfriend gets the chicken red curry which is also super delicious. They have more noodle dishes I will eventually try when I, possibly one day, don't order the pad see ew. Ugh. I really wanted to like Noodles To Thai For (especially because I love a good pun). But I had to update my review after yet another disappointing experience here. It was a Friday night and my boyfriend and I didn't feel like cooking or going out. We called Noodles To Thai For and placed an order for two pad thai for take-out (one with chicken and one with beef). The lady said it would be ready in 20 minutes. When we arrived, I ran in and saw two boxes on the counter next to the register (assuming they were our pad thai; and yes, turns out they were). The lady told me to "wait a minute". Ok. She then proceeded to 1) run food to tables (I was ok with this), 2) take another table's order (ok, slightly annoying), 3) cash out a different table (getting more annoyed), 4) refill everyone's drinks (starting to fume), and 5) get someone a side of crushed peanuts (alright, I've had enough). Just as I was about to walk out - I had waited over 10 minutes at this point - she comes over and hands me the two boxes (that had been sitting next to the register SINCE I WALKED IN) and ring me out. I was looking for a good Thai place close to work and kind of just stumbled onto this restaurant by accident while walking around. They have authentic tasting Thai dishes. The price is decent as well, not too cheap, but not too expensive. I would recommend one of their noodle soups, especially in the winter. They are very hearty and filling. The owner is from Thailand and takes pride in what she serves. Seating is limited however, so if you want to ensure a seat, you should come either before or after the lunch rush.
