    Blown. Away.

(Review is for Sushi Love cart in the Shady Pines food court.) These women are geniuses, and they have flat-out NAILED the vegan sushi game! We were delighted by the innovative and varied menu, so we ordered pretty much everything. What we got was delightfully reminiscent of the real deal. All of the rolls were excellent, and the starry inari was incredible. (I've never thought twice about inari, and although this was perhaps the priciest item for the volume of food, it was possibly the most surprising item on the menu for me--in a good way.) Each dish was artfully arranged like you'd find in a high-end brick-and-mortar joint. I'm not saying it tasted like fish, but they're not trying to do that. But who cares when you get a feast for the eyes AND the palate with interesting textures, intense, smoky flavors, crunchy toppings, and lots of complexity! I read a few reviews complaining about portion size and rice quality, but our rice was perfect, and we had enough food for two (very filling) dinners two nights in a row. I also read that there's only one person "woman-ing" the cart, so my expectations weren't high in terms of getting my very large order right. Again, they nailed it. Online ordering and delivery via Door Dash was quick and easy. The cost was completely reasonable for the quality. Be sure to specify whatever typical extras you need (soy sauce, wasabi and chopsticks, for example), or that ain't happening.

Omg this place! Vegan sushi heaven. Such a cute spot alas I heard this is their last day in this location. Still they have a food truck. Delish miso to warm the palate. We enjoyed our edamame without spicy sauce. I had such a hard time deciding when riding the rolls. I felt like saying one of everything. They all sounds fun, delicious and temping. We tried tiki tiki, don't be shellfish and the glazed and carmelized. Thank you for the sushi I love, sushi love So thankful to have a vegan spot I can enjoy sushi out

I don't really have much to say besides It was pretty good! $8 for a full roll, $5 for half. We tried the Avalon. The jackfruit "crab" didn't taste like crab but was yummy. Food truck located on a lot with others. Sushi came out quick and service was nice. Fairly Priced.

Literally ordered 1/2 order of everything on the menu- We loved it- sauces are all pretty spicy- so if not your thing - get on the side Can not WAIT to go back. Its a little hidden- but you can find it

Loooooove sushi love! Got the jalapeño roll and lobstrosity roll today and they did not disappoint (I may have scarfed down a few bites before remembering to snap a photo! ) The owners are very sweet and care a lot about the business. I hope this food cart is around forever--or at least a long, long time!

gosh this place was just amazing!!! Very sweet customer service. I really appreciated all the help and patience with deciding what to order. This is the first time I've found vegan sushi and it was phenomenal! I will definitely be going back very soon, like probably tomorrow honestly!!

The absolute best vegan sushi! Clockwise from upper left- Simply Simple, BLT, Starry Inari and Tiki Tiki. The BLT roll, shocking! I'm personally not a vegan or vegetarian. I have a seafood allergy. That's why I choose Sushi Love. I don't know what vegan voodoo made it taste like bacon but it's in there.

Part of veg out vegan food festival 2019. Tried Starry Inarri - fried suchi with tofu and rice. Topped with mayo. 6 $ for 3 sushi little bit pricey but good stuff and good ladies handling food truck . Must try.

Ok, from California and found this delicious gem on my last night in Portland. Sucks that I found it so late but SO DANG glad I did!! Great "sushi" for vegan lovers!! Nice super friendly staff, great area and plenty of parking. I tried they special of the day and it was AAAAHHHHMAZING! Highly recommend if in Portland area. Don't sleep on this place or you'll be missing out!

I thought they were going to be fillers but they tasted great and actually put new fish I've never had before on the map for me! Some of my favorites were - kanpachi - kome buri - ama ebi - salmon (I liked it more than the king salmon, maybe I have peasant taste) - toro The omakase was well thought out as you can see and we even enjoyed the miso soup. I think the price tag of $100/person can initially be steep but you can easily spend this much on these nicer orders. I was also worried they might drop the quality during the AYCE portion but it continued to be delicious and service was consistent throughout (there was another group of 13 people so service was a bit slow having to divide time between the rest of the restaurant and them). I highly recommend this place and will for sure come back. Some delicious quality fish and my new favorite if I'm coming hungry!

There were large groups of people lining outside but we put our name down on the iPad and got seated within 10 ish mins! Scoreee. This is your sign to be patient cause this Izakaya is so worth the wait! Price point for quality was chefs kiss. You don't really get fresh sushi like this anywhere with reasonable prices! Im taking 5 PCs of otoro sashimi for $25?! Speechless! We outdid ourselves and ordered like 3 rounds of sushi for the three of us and bill came out to $200 ish with drinks! Really easy to do since they had such an extensive menu with just about everything from appetizers, tapas sashimi, hand rolls, nigiri, fried items, sushi ROLLS, ramen/noodles, and skewers! Highlights were definitely the: -otoro (5 pcs ~$25) -salmon medley (salmon belly and 3 other cuts) -scallop nigiri -karaage (5 pcs for $8.99) *pro tip to add their house negi sauce $1 or spicy mayo $0.50 -agedashi tofu (fried tofu) -wagyu beef skewer $8.50 -citrus YTG roll ($15) so refreshing with hamachi (yellowtail), tempura flakes, and a house jalapeño ponzu sauce ! (Apologies for the lack of photos lol. We got too excited since the food kept coming out soo quick we couldn't keep up lol) We also ordered the uni and volcano roll! I might try for the Alaskan roll next time considering it was hard to identify the scallops in the baked roll but still kinda tasty if you're into the warm baked rolls! I was unfortunately really wanting to taste the scallops! Overall we had a great time! Service was nice and attentive! The drinks were really affordable and generous too! My brother in law ordered a chu hi and it came in this huge mug for $14 with an option of refill for ~$7! Such a deal! Arigatou, Hachi!

Really nice variety, and everything was super fresh, rice was nice texture. My favorite was the scallops, which were sliced perfectly. Also got to try two of the rolls, the unicorn and the sunset. Usually I don't prefer these really complicated rolls, but weirdly found the spicy oil on the unicorn really good. With a combined 115 years of experience this restaurant shines with what feels like authentic sushi. We were there with a group of four and were seated promptly for our reservation at 5:45 PM. Our server Ben was an absolute delight and brought vibrancy and genuineness to his service. So shoutout to Ben. I was a bit disappointed that they were unable to accommodate my Tokyo Tea request for a cocktail (I'm always about efficiency when drinking ) but the cocktails that we did receive were elegant and refreshing. But now to the meat of the review or should I say fish? We were taken on a journey through the Toyosu fish market or so I'm and had several delicious rolls such as the Yama roll, Salmon and Scallop, Jamison and the simple California roll. We also had two of the nigiri the salmon belly and the unagi which were both fall apart tender deliciousness in your mouth. Service was average, but the food more than made up for it. Because of that first experience, we decided to place a fairly large takeout order for a family dinner last night. Big mistake. We were told the order would be ready in 30 minutes. We arrived on time only to discover they had not even started preparing it yet. The explanation was "a computer issue," but nobody called us to let us know there would be a delay, and no real apology was offered. By the time we finally got the food, we were already late for dinner and had to head straight home. When we opened the bag, the nigiri had been packed so poorly that everything was jumbled together in a heap. We literally spent 10 minutes trying to reassemble the sushi ourselves. What disappointed us most was the way management handled the situation afterward. We called expecting that a restaurant positioning itself as upscale would want to make things right. Instead, the manager argued with us, reviewed security footage, and claimed that because we briefly checked the bag at pickup, the order must have been fine when it left the restaurant. We checked that the boxes were there -- we did not open every container because we trusted the restaurant to package the food properly. The bottom line: the dine-in experience may still be worth it because the food itself is genuinely very good, but based on our experience, order takeout at your own risk.
