About the only thing Nordstrom is good for these days is a Clean Restroom. Only because I went to a nearby restaurant I ventured in to Nordstrom Americana to give it a shot. I just bought a bottle of Parfum De Marly at Nordstrom in Cerritos last week and cane in to Glendale Nordstrom Americana for a same of a different scent, same brand. They refused to give me a sample and they also refused to make one saying the Dept. Manager, Alex, did not want them making samples of that brand. I've called the management several times to complain about my experiences in this store and they've always listened intently and apologized profusely, but after last night, it's time to post a review. As a former Nordstrom employee, I can't stand coming to this store. It's unfortunate that it's the one closest to my parents' house, so sometimes I end up here. Like last night, when my mom and I went on a shopping date. We were looking for some shoes and noticed that there was barely a selection. The back walls have maybe one or two pairs, which is especially noticeable when everything is white. If you're going for high end minimalism, it's not working. Not a single person greeted us the entire time we were in the store (in fact, most departments didn't seem to have anyone in them, this being around 6:30 pm). But the worst was when we went to the Christian Dior counter. The Chanel and Christian Dior counters flank the "grand" entrance to the store. We browsed lipsticks for thirty minutes without a single person around. We had several picked out and ready to purchase, and still, no one around. Earlier, at the Chanel counter across the way, an employee had been chatting with some people and we'd made eye contact. When those people left, she disappeared behind the makeshift barrier near their checkout. I went to get her, as we were tired of waiting and there was no one else around. She had her back to me, texting. When I said "Excuse me, can you please help us?" She said, "At Dior?" with some disdain, looked around as if that's not her responsibility, put her phone down and came over (also indicating she'd acknowledged our eye contact and knew exactly where we were and that we were waiting). We handed her the lipsticks, she fumbled around looking for them without making any conversation. My mom asked her a question about texture that she provided a BS answer to, she checked us out wordlessly and that was that. Where's the customer service? Definitely not at this store. isn't it common sense to have people around, especially at your most trafficked sections? Don't you WANT to take opportunities to sell? Do yourself a favor and visit Topanga. The people there are knowledgable and professional, and the inventory is much better. read more

Yeah... honestly, I don't think this store is worth it... This place has rude customer service! I was trying a buy a birthday gift for my dear grandmother. I found some reasonable deals online for some Estée Lauder products with bonus gifts for those who purchased $45 or more. Erine R. from Americana at Brand's Nordstrom's Estée Lauder section, attempted to rip me off as if I perhaps appeared not experienced in purchasing women's cosmetics. For example, she attempted to charge me a higher price i.e., $62.60 instead of the ACTUAL price of $46 plus tax. When I showed her a picture of the product on my iPhone with the lower listed price from the Nordstrom.com. She also attempted to convince me that there was no free gift that comes with the purchase. During the process, she treated me as if I am ignorant and unreasonable despite the fact that SHE (Erine R.) was the one who tried to give me a raw deal. Throughout the process, I remained calm and did not raise my voice. However, when I confronted her about the price and pointed out about the her points that I did not agree upon, she gave me a lot of bad attitude and clear displeasure to me. Further, she wrongfully accused me by saying, "YOU DON'T HAVE TO YELL AT ME!!" even though I did not raise my voice. She is the one that intentionally tried to rip me off even though it clearly said in the price description in the picture I showed her. I stayed calm, and after my argument with her, she eventually gave me what I needed, and finally gave me the real price of $50.14. (tax included) And in the end, it ended up being the wrong product! After my purchase, I requested for some free samples that come with the purchase. However, Erine R. at Nordstrom said, "It's different online than here in the store, I'm sorry, we don't have those!" Well then, why did Nordstrom's website state that free samples come with the purchase? When I showed her Nordstrom's Website on my iPhone in which it clearly states an offer of free samples with purchases, she very reluctantly gave me the free samples. While I have nothing against Nordstrom, I am deeply concerned about its sales reps such as Erine R. who clearly showed disrespect to customers and tried to take advantage of a young man with little knowledge of beauty products. I also noticed a lot of negative reviews from other yelpers about this location that is related to rude/terrible customer service and staff... with that I can say that I completely agree with each and every one of those reviews. Avoid this Nordstrom at ALL costs! Instead, please do yourself a big favor stay away from this Nordstrom and go to Macy's or Bloomingdales at the Glendale Galleria if you need makeup products or gifts without the rude service. Not worth your time and money, and definitely not worth getting treated like trash... Honestly, wish I could use the other variant of these words, but for the sake of keeping the review appropriate for everyone, I shall refrain. I just needed to buy shoes, quick in and out. After spending an absurd amount of time with one customer, there were 3 of us waiting to try on shoes. The salesman looked directly at each of us, took the other 2 men's requests and deliberately ignored me. I'm not a sensitive person, but a move like that is quite rude. I understand he was only one in his department, but it wouldn't have killed him to have acknowledged that I needed help. Nordstrom is known for their good return policy, right? Nope, not this one! I wanted to return a pair of heels but they said they can't do it for me and that I will have to go to the Nordstrom that I purchased it from. Even with receipt they can't give me my refund? I've never heard of that. I've had a friend return something at another Nordstrom without receipt and they gladly helped her. How does it make business sense to go from a Nordstrom which had easily 1/3 more stock to a space that fills less? Good job! Now I'm having to purchase my clothes online as POV dept offers waay less clothing options than the former space. Btw, I'm also shopping at Antrhopologie and Bloomingdales more. So you're losing my business! And I'm a shopper. And I agree w another poster, this space is SOULESS. And I miss the lunch room -- there are plenty options in the area for mid-scale eatery fare. Oh boy, way to let us down, Nordstrom. This used to be one of my favorite stores when it was in the Galleria, but since Glendale has been trying really hard to appeal to its high-end crowd, the quality of the store has declined severely. Back when it was in the galleria, they had clothing, shoes, and jewelry options that were accessible to all different customers, with a better variety of options. Now, the store is smaller, with primarily "brand name" choices. The upstairs floor seems empty most of the time, and the shoe selection is barren in comparison. I also miss the little Nordstrom Cafe that my family used to frequent as I was growing up. Now, they have the Bar Verde. While the food there is good, it is not like the comfortable, easy going ambiance that was the Nordstrom Cafe. Sad to see it all go. read more

I'm a big Nordstrom fan but I really dislike this particular one at the Americana. I was so excited when they were building it. I expected that it would have the great selection and customer service that the Grove location has. However, each time I go to this Americans location, I get disappointed further. Complete lack of customer service in almost every department other than cosmetics. The shoe department is my least favorite here. Poor selection of brands and variety. Horrible customer service. Cosmetics and women's clothing are ok. They have a pretty nice Ted Baker women's clothing collection and I like that they carry Topshop. However, I would avoid this location and opt for the new Bloomingdales across the street, even though I generally prefer Nordstrom over Bloomingdales. The Nordstroms at the Grove and Topanga are a much better choice. read more

I visited this particular Nordstroms on 9-26-19. I went to the men's department and Josh was the first to help me locate something I needed for the following morning. Josh went above and beyond the normal "customer service" experience. He made key suggestions and when a dress shirt I needed did not fit me perfectly, he was quick to go locate the correct size and made further suggestions. I usually spend $80-$100 on a. Dress shirt, but Josh's suggestions guided to purchasing 2 incredible pieces which I spent slightly over $300. Josh was a consummate professional and I will definitely was back very soon. The elder woman at the service desk on the first floor by the escalator and the manager are beyond dumb. They wouldn't let me return the sunglasses I bought stating the items must be returned in pristine condition. Uh, I got these from a different store and they were still wrapped in the same tissue from the day of purchase. I wiped them off and ended up returning them upstairs without any issues. Don't waste your time here. I'd rather make purchases online or go to the Topanga location. read more

This is for just the shoe department...Today I went in with my fiance looking for shoes and the girl in the show department could care less about helping us. She was really grumpy and only when we approached her, she helped us begrudgingly. Seriously, I have had better service at Payless shoes! At least they said hi to me and asked me if I need anything! Nordstrom is generally favorite place to shop, so this girl who is snotty and grumpy should not be working for Norstrom because she is making their company look really bad. HUGE disappointment! I thought the whole point in moving Nordstroms to the Americana was to make it bigger and better. I'll admit its bigger, but I don't see how it's better. There's a lot of open space which is nice, it's a lot more classy looking but where the hell are all the designer merchandise? There is no LV boutique, no Chanel, no Fendi. The shoes department didn't have any Louboutin's or Giuseppe. Seriously? What was the point of moving to a bigger store.. Why not just fix the location it was originally at if you weren't going to add anything other then a Men's Shop. The staff was also just whatever..Other then 1 gentleman named Rene, or Reneh who worked in the men's shop (sorry I can't remember the correct spelling). This is not a bad Nordstroms, I only took 2 stars away just because they disappointed me, I was expecting a lot more from this new location. On about the 8/24 I ordered 3 items online from Nordstrom. Long story short; I was going to Maui to celebrate my bd. I ordered 2 bathing suits and a long coverup dress. I paid for overnight delivery on two items, the third was only available for ground delivery. I did not get my items next day. To be fair Nordstrom credited me for the shipping. After many, many call to customer service and many "we apologize" Nordstrom placed another order to replace the original. Much to my surprise they also recharged my account. A week or so later I picked up 2 items at fed-ex. I returned the items at a store. No show on the second order or the ground delivery...But they still have my MONEY!! For a company known for service and quality...or USED to be known for service and quality. This location fails on both accounts. Received a pair of pants as a gift, simple enough. Went in to have it adjusted. Got measured and fitted and made an appointment to pick up a week later, which should be enough time and again simple. Returned to pick up, and they hurriedly wrapped up the pants and sent me on my way, red flag. Opening the package, the pants had not been touched and no mention of this by the sales guy. Came in here in search of Chanel Chance Eau Tendre. The sales rep was really friendly and helpful. I ask for it to be giftwrapped and they did an excellent job. On my bra mission, I came over here and received exceptional service. Diana guessed my size without ever measuring me. I don't know how she did it but she did. Came to purchase a handbag yesterday. The lady gave me a handbag that had markings on the bottom. I pointed this out to her and she said "it's just dirt." After a few seconds of uncomfortable silence, she told me she could clean it. And then she muttered again "it's just dirt, you know." Well, I don't know about you but I don't want to drop my $$$ for a dirty handbag. Anyways, I ended up asking her to check if she could get another one in the back. On 12/27/2015 my friend and I, sat down and ate dinner at The Nordstrom's Bar Verde located at 102 Caruso Ave, Glendale, CA 91210 (818) 502-9922. We both shared the lime chicken tacos, and I had the chicken angel hair paste substituted the chicken for shrimp. Approximately 30 minutes after our dinner I started to have extremely bad stomach pain. I was driving home at the time, upon driving home I continued to have sharp stomach pain and bad gas. I kept holding my stomach as the stomach pains increased. At this point I was approximately 5 blocks away from my residence at which point the stomach pains were uncontrollable and my stomach could not take the food I digested any longer. At that point I shitted myself. I experienced diarrhea and vomiting. I missed work the next day due to being food poisoned. I, contacted the Bar Verde Restaurant manager and I advised the manager that I was ill due to the food I ate at their restaurant. He apologized and got my information down and advised me he would return my phone call as soon as possible. I did not receive a call back the same day nor the next day. I received a call back 2 days later from a corporate number. Patrick contact number (206) 303-2518. Patrick asked how I was feeling and then apologizes saying "well no one else got sick that night from that dish, and I am glad you are feel better." Never once did anyone offer to comp my meal, all I got were fake apologies from managers who did not seem to care. I, nor my friend will never return to the Bar Verde again. It SAD I actually use to work for Nordstrom IN 2008. I am very disappointed in the way Nordstrom has handled my situation. So maybe you guys should pay more attention to customer's situations a lot more. Either your kitchen needs to be check for cleanliness and your employees need to wash their hands more often or your food product is not up to date. You can't even reach ANY salesperson on the phone here any longer. I thought Nordstrom had good customer service no longer. I called 6 times Friday for the Chanel counter no answer the first 3 times the 4th said they couldn't hear me because of loud event music so hung up on me the 5th a male operator said he'd stay on the phone until they picked up which they didn't. This review is for duke ocampo that helped us in the men's department. We got 2 suits for $1200 for my dad for my wedding. Alterations r free. Duke was patient, helpful, friendly, and knew his stuff. Gave us options. Got us just what we wanted at the price we wanted. He was pleasant to deal w. There was this older gentleman working in men's that was scary and pushy and loud. He's been there forever and should be trained to be quieter and nicer bc he did make my experience there unpleasant just by having him around. He was also super rude and condescending to the nice tailor that came to help. Aside from him, nordstroms has great customer service. I will pay a little more here over going to Macy's bc of the people that work at nordstroms. I don't know if nordstroms just hires better people or trains them better but I always walk out of there w stuff bc the customer Svc is so good. Not pushy but very attentive. It is just head and shoulders above the service of other department stores. We went to Bloomingdales, too, but the service was not as good so we walked out of there. read more
