Like most racks, its a hit or miss. The handbags, designer shoe section, and intimates are smaller. BUT I was surprised at how many rows of shoes there was. If you are familiar with Nordstrom's then you know about their great customer service. I am no longer working and am now a full time grad student so I rarely shop at Nordstrom's anymore because I simply can't afford that lifestyle anymore. I STILL want great quality clothing plus I need clinic attire for school, so now I've turned to Nordstrom rack and have been shopping here for a couple years now. The staff here are super friendly and the selection is great! (for women at least). I've found my Tory Burch shoes here, my Rebecca Minkoff wallet and Blouses on clearance! 5 stars goes to their customer service. I had a Natasha crossbody bag by marc jacobs that I just never really used. It was just taking up space in my closet so I brought it back to Nordstrom rack to return. I didn't have a receipt and I had purchased the bag close to two years ago! I remember the general months when I had purchased the bag and had it narrowed down to two possible credit cards that I could have used at that time. The lady who helped me was able to find my purchase on my credit card and I got a full cash refund!! Shopping spreee!!! haha No, the $200 went towards rent. A couple weeks ago, I decided to return a pair of nude high heels that I had bought for clinic around December. The tip of the shoes were starting to wear off within a couple after I had purchased them but I never got around to returning them because of the holidays and then I simply forgot! I finally decided to return them a few months later and they put my money back on my card! This is the ONLY place to shop! I like this Brea location. it's spacious. the shoe aisle are not too narrow, it's clean well maintained. of course i love not to go through the check out... and use the green ladies..:) they have good selections of stuff that i want. the clothings are not too drabby colored like other locations i.e: south bay location. definitely be back again. read more

THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO FOR SHOES! Ah, I really felt like I was in shoe heaven. There was at least 3-4 rows of shoes my size - 5 - 5.5 in the clearance section!!! I have never been to a store where there have been that many rows of shoes my size... In fact, stores rarely carry such a small size! But the prices were not as low as I would have liked them. I probably had come across around $200-ish worth of shoes that I absolutely adored (this amounts to 4 pairs of shoes). Most of the shoes are around 20-30% off regular price. A lot of mocassin type shoes, flats, sneakers, and heels/wedges. Lots of Sam Edelmann and Steve Madden flats/mocassins. I initially came here to check out their heels/wedges because I needed a pair for a wedding I am going to (shoot me some store suggestions if you know of any!?), but I didn't see any that I liked. read more

If I could marry this store, I would. I've noticed that although I grunt and groan over the line, they go surprisingly fast because there's one line for about 4-5 cashiers. If an item catches your eye, BUY IT. Or else it will probably be gone the next day. Besides, keep your receipt and the tag on, and return it if you don't change your mind for a full refund. Also, fellow shoppers, let's remember that although Nordstrom is known for exceptional customer service, this is it's discount version. The Rack employees do not make commission off you and the store has about 10 times as much customers. They may not be as polite and infinitely ready to please, but the prices make up for it. Stick to Nordstrom if you're all about service and if you always want the newest items. The selection is hit and miss. They have an on-site tailor but service isn't free of charge like Nordstrom. RETURN ITEMS WITH NO RECEIPT: Only if you used your credit or debit card on the purchase of the item. They can look up your past purchase for up to 90 days if you have the card present. read more

My finance had just returned a few clothing items as I was browsing around the store. I forgot to tell him not to return one of the shirts. We went right back to the cashier to see if we could buy it back. Lorraine, the cashier, said that they couldn't sell it back to me. I explained to her that my fiancé just returned the shirt. It had been less than 5 minutes since he had returned it. She rolled her eyes and found the shirt. I noticed that when she rang it up, it rang up as $29.99 when the price tag said $26.97. When I questioned her about it, she said that she wasn't able to change the price. When I questioned again, she reluctantly said that had to speak with the manager to change the price. She came back and rudely said that she would do it for us this just this ONE time, but that is something that they don't usually do. She said that even if the price was rung up incorrectly, if I didn't catch it before I checked out, I'm stuck with what I paid for it, even if it was a mistake on their end. I told her that what she said just didn't make sense. She rudely turned the screen in my direction and said, "I can do it for you just this ONE time. Do you want it or not?!" Wow, in all the years that I've shopped at Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack, I have never encountered such horrible customer service, especially when she had the wrong information. I know for a fact that if ANY store rung up the wrong price, they would make the adjustment for you, especially if the they were the ones who made the mistake originally. I asked to speak to the manager, Mary. Thankfully, she was very apologetic and cleared things up right away. She said that Lorraine was absolutely wrong and that she would speak to her about the policy. Thank God for Mary. I still can't believe the way we were treated by Lorraine. If it hadn't been for Mary, we would never want to come back again just because of our terrible experience with Lorraine. read more

This store is great. There is such a great selection of items, and that can get overwhelming. They recently re-organized their store, which might take some getting used to if you are used to the old layout. The deals here are AWESOME. The prices are great, and they have clearance items. The merchandise moves quickly so there are often new things to check out. Mt BF loves the shoe selection (and so do I). They carry items directly from the Nordstrom stores and additional items that are purchased just for the Rack. They carry men's, women's, childrens, handbags, shoes, cosmetics, houseware, jewelry and underwear. It is difficult for me to leave this store without purchasing something. This is great for holiday shopping too - as your dollar can really stretch here. There are so many racks to examine that it can be overwheling. The store seems to get crowded with clothes as well as people - which is the major negative to this shopping experience. read more

This Nordstrom Rack is located in Brea Union Plaza (Southern CA - welcome to the land of large shopping plazas!). More specifically, it's right off the 57 freeway and just a few mins away from the Brea Mall. I came here looking for a dress appropriate for a wedding. They have a pretty extensive selection and I tried on at least half a dozen. However, I didn't end up purchasing any. It wasn't Nordstrom Rack, it was me. I'm picky and most of the time the dresses end up looking better on the hanger than on me. * SAD FACE * However, I do want to shoutout and give them kudos for great customer service. I thought I lost my earring and started to panic, so I started looking around the fitting room and dress area. Whenever I need a new pair of shoes, this Nordstrom Rack is most likely the first place I'd come to. There are not that many selections for size 5 1/2 but whenever I find one that I like, it's like love at first sight. No hesitation whatsoever. So far, I scored a really cute gray fabric Charles David shoes, nude satin open toe pumps and silver sandals from Nina. I paird omewhere from $40 to $120 for a pair of shoes which I think is a great deal because I do a lot of walking and the average life span for my work shoes is about a year. Anything over $150 per pair of shoe is just too wasteful. As for the clothes, it's more miss than hits and when I do find something I like, they don't usually have it in my size. It's so disappointing that lately I don't bother looking for clothes here anymore. But as I mentioned earlier, for my success rate with shoes alone. I am a fan. 3.5 stars read more

For the most part, every Nordstrom Rack is similar but this one seemed to have a better shoe selection than others I've been to. In terms of shoes, they have both pairs out ready to try on. ( The one in Chino only has 1 and you have to ask for the mate since there's a high theft rate) It's all organized in a 'z' ish form where you can find shoes according to your size. The kids shoes selection was very SMALL compared to the Riverside rack. Usually there are workers in green t-shirts where they can check you out immediately without waiting in line, but since it was a weekday and not a lot of customers, I went to the front to check out. I didn't have to wait too long to check out which is a big plus for an impatient person like myself. They had a few Home items like pillows and towels. The makeup section was a little messy but I rarely buy makeup at NR so it didn't matter to me. It's funny how you can easily spend 30+minutes at a NR just buy wandering the aisles. read more

This is actually a nice store. The checkout line was long like the DMV, but went by fairly quickly. This could have been due to playing a few rounds of Angry Birds while waiting. They have a nice selection of ties - not the usual crappy tie selection that other NR's have (like Robert Talbott ties with hideous designs and patterns that make you wonder who buys them). They also had some nice cuff links as well, as opposed to the cheesy gunmetal links that you can get at Macy's (for actually double the price). And the associate who helped me (whose name I didn't get) went out of his way to look in the back for a particular french cuff shirt the West Covina location said they had, and they found it. Nothing beats getting a $95 dress shirt for $30. I will definitely be coming to this NR in the future. read more

I just love this Nordstrom Rack store. They have clothes on the circular rack so that the clothes are easier to go through, and somehow, its easier to maneuver at this location, than say, the one near the SCP. They let you take in 10 items at a time to try on, but I noticed that they are more careful about counting the number of items you actually take in, not just asking how many items. The long lines are sometimes horrendous and you will end up waiting quite a while but they try their best to move the lines along. They are really great with returns and try to help me the best they can when I need to find a size that is floating somewhere but not on the rack its supposed to be on. Discribing this makes me want to go shopping again there soon! read more

The stuff at this Nordstrom Rack location varies. It changes every couple of weeks so if you miss out on something, it's gone for good. The selection is sometimes weak but other times you get some great deals for Citizens, Free People, Juicy, etc. The past several times I went, I was pretty disappointed. Everything I saw was out of date or out of style. There are even some really heinous pieces. As for shoes and other accessories. Shoes also depend. If you go on a good day, you'll leave with 2 or 3 pairs. I went a couple weeks ago and left with nothing. Purses/bags are still a bit pricey but WAY cheaper than the original price :) They have kids' clothes but that much. They are SUPER cute though. read more

Pros: There are many styles there that I had just seen months ago at Nordstrom. They sell upscale mark down items in a much more organized environment. The alternate check out stations around the floor were great because I was paying with a card. This is one of my first stops for special occasion shoes because they have an abundance of styles in every size. Cons: The employees seemed to be more and more lax the farther that I got into the store. It can get kind of awkward to roll around a cart because they have so much merchandise all over the floor. Though it is more organized than most, it is all really packed in there. I went in about a month ago and got lost because they had remodeled. The signage could have been a little more clear. Overall, for me the pros outweigh the cons and I get great service there for the majority of the time. It is a wonderful place to buy shoes, and a special occasion outfit. I always check the garment to see if there is any reason that it might be put on sale, and unlike other stores of this kind, they are just trying to move perfectly wonderful stock. Its a great place to go with friends and just shop around too! I love it!! P.S. I have looked on the clearance racks and found a cute top for $0.01. No joke! read more

I go to this location mainly it's right by my work, however I think this is better then some of the other rack locations I've been to , I have not tried south orange county stores , have only compared this place with chino hills and west Covina (this is the worst one do not even bother ). I find good deals from time to time, but I have to say that they used to have more Gems that are hidden a few years back then they are now , merchandise seems to be common like every other store, I normally like to hunt for the one of a kind marked down pieces which they have less and less and it's now just like an organized discounted store with regular merchandise in all size. The shoes department has gotten less interesting as well, chino hills has a better shoe dep. The purse and accessories used to be better as well, but still if you go at the right time that few good pieces might still be available for grabs, the hand bag selection here is better then chino hills none the less. I will need to check out the other ones in OC I hear they have better items , but over all this will still be the one I go to if I need something right away since its close by. read more

Decent store, with some issues with ease of shopping. My main complaint is that this location struggles to maintain product organization. Namely, Kids Shoes (literally a minefield of shoes all over the floor and thrown all over) and clearance racks (sizes all over the place). My secondary complaint is checkout. Years ago they added checkout spots aside from the front registers and that helped ease the wait. However, in the years since, you'll only see 1 checkout spot open and those are as long of a wait as the registers. read more

They have sone pretty good deals but they allow dogs. Dogs don't belong in the store. We told the manager how gross it is 3 times and she couldn't care less. Since I'm highly allergic it was really disappointing that the manager didn't care. For a "Nordstrom" they should have higher standards and better customer service. read more

i'm terrible. i drive 15 miles to the RACK to return $45 worth of stuff and end up spending $75 more. if i wasn't on my lunch break, i probably would've spent a lot more. i love the RACK! if you're a RACK shopper, you know your experience is all gonna depend on what day/time you go. thursday....11:30am? perfect! relatively empty......tidy racks.....and nothing on the floor to step over. but i've been to this RACK on weekends and it's not pretty, just as you'd expect. smaller than south coast. heck...even smaller than chino hills.....hence the 3 stars. read more

The lines here are always ridiculously long and they don't bring more employees to remedy this issue. They also have a terrible return policy. If you don't have a receipt, you get whatever price it was marked down to.... and they mark products down to a penny when they run out of stock! So that if you come and return it, you get no money back. Such a shady policy established just to screw customers over. read more

Someone stole my shoes while I was testing on some shoes there! The manager made me wait there for 30 min while they looked for shoes, then told me they would try and refund the specific purchase from half year ago. Of course I paid cash and there was no records, then I was told to wait until Monday from a Saturday so they can decide what to do! Their lack of help is really frustrating.
