The service is good and food presentation was nice. Miso soup was good, the salad was typical iceberg leaves with one slice of tomato and cucumber on top... Ginger salad dressing was not the best and was more of a creamy dressing than ginger dressing... Unfortunately, I can't say a lot of positives for the sushi... We ordered the love boat, but the rice was dry, hardly any rice vinegar in the rice for sushi or the rolls, no wasabi between the bed of rice and the fish for the sushi... So the rolls and the sushi kept falling apart and we're not very flavorful... Sashimi was cut very thick - I love my raw fish, but these slices were pretty chunky... Ate here a couple of times and all times, food was fantastical. It is a BYOB, which I am a SUPER FAN of. Sushi was fresh and their pan-fried dumplings were awesome! They also have the wee little bowl of crispy chips and for some reason you can't just eat one. Delicious Sushi, Fantastic Service! We come to Nori Sushi for date night about twice a month. Carmen and Maria run the restaurant and are always happy to see us. Angel and Helen have half of our order memorized, and greet us like old friends. The sushi and sashimi are always fresh, well-prepared, and beautifully arranged.. There are some interesting sashimi fusion appetizers as well. Our teenage children also love the restaurant, and the entire staff makes our family or any friends we bring feel welcome. I went there with my niece for lunch. The place was completely empty. The woman asked how many, then proceeds to make us stand there and wait while she writes something down in a notebook?? There was no heat on in the place, and she seats us by the front door. We took it upon ourselves to switch tables to get away from the door. She made a nasty comment, went to the table we left and loudly pushed the chairs back in place. Most of their Sushi rolls had fancy names with no description of what they were, so we had to ask several questions, and she appeared annoyed with our questions. Then we ordered 2 of the apps, to which they were out of. Steamed dumplings and veggie tempura. I ended up ordering chicken satay. Part of the lunch menu includes seasonal fruit, and they didn't have that either. She claimed it was because of COVID, yet they were serving salads. Not sure what that's about. No one was in the restaurant, and yet the wait staff was no where to be found When we needed something. Never offered water, nothing. Food was ok for what they actually did have but the service was terrible. First and last time there. Also, if you are offering dine in, at least put the heat on so people don't have to wear their coats like we did. read more

A great place for some good Japanese food. We always have the salmon tartar that has gotten a bit smaller since the ive started coming here in 2009. Then we get the pikachu, Bangkok spider, and the dumbo rolls. Finally, we finish off with the rolling steak. I love their salad creamy salad dressing. I never really review things unless I am heavily on either end of the spectrum, unfortunately I am on the opposing this time. I stopped by for lunch take out and had a pretty awful experience. To start there were no take out menus available. Even after asking for a menu I still had to check if they did lunch take out. The prices were easily 30% more than an average restaurant in Wayne, NJ. I paid $13 (not including tax) for a 3 roll lunch special which was to include soup, salad and three rolls. I received less thaa a third of a quart of miso soup, the smallest salad I'd ever seen (what they could have fit the soup in) and two maki and a tamaki roll.. The food was good, not terrible but not particularly exciting. Ultimately it was NOT worth the money I paid and I have no plans to return even if they did film scenes from the sopranos there. read more

After shopping at the Willowbrook mall on Halloween we stopped in this little Japanese place for dinner. When you walk in your not going to get the wow factor feeling, it's a little outdated but when you eat there food your gonna say wow. The sushi is about the freshest we ever had. We had a Wild salmon entree that was cooked perfectly with a light scallion ginger sauce and for dessert we had the fried cheesecake which was amazing. Service was extremely friendly and that completed the experience. Definetly try this place. read more

This is probably the best sushi place I've ever eaten, and I like to eat in Asian restaurants. Delicious! The prices are not the cheapest by reasonable considered the fact with Soprano film making. It is very popular place, crowded, to get there you better make a reservation. First time I went there with my husband and friends and was waiting in a line for 40 minutes (it was busy hours). Food was absolutely delicious and I liked it so much that I promised to bring my kids next time. The second time I decided to go my kids with the reservation and was served immediately. Kids loved it a lot, now they even craving it! My personal favorites are the House salad with ginger dressing, Miso soup, Sexy Roll, and on desert my green tee ice-cream. I will definitely be visiting this place again and again. read more

I have eaten there over 50 times and the food is fresh and always consistent. Angel and all the staff provides a very good experience. This place is owned by Chinese. The price is ridiculous! We ordered Red and yellow roll-just tiny smashed yellowtail in the middle and super thin slice of tuna fish on top. And there are only 5 pieces for $13. We also get a spicy scallop roll. It is $8.00 I would expect it to be OK size, again it is tiny like a regular tekka roll. The other special roll we ordered is white pearl - also 5 pieces for $13. I do not think they taste great and fresh. I think it is a ripped off. The stuff who served our table was not friendly at all. I do not understand why people give so many stars for the price they are paying. read more

I will never understand the hype about this place. I've been to Nori a couple times, and everytime I have tasted FOOD SANITIZER on the fish. You ever taste that kind of windexy taste when eating sushi?? Well that's good old food sanitizer to keep the fish one more day from spoiling! (A.k.a. taking almost rotten fish and extending its life to one more day) Okay so, most less than mediocre sushi restaurants use food sanitizer. However, my last visit is causing me to never return. Not only did all of my rolls taste of sanitizer, we actually were told to leave! We were given the check promptly after finishing our last bites, but we actually wanted dessert. We tried Nori in Wayne twice. The sushi is good but not great. Uncomfortable seating both times. Not a big deal but couldn't wait to get up and leave. We ordered the exotic rolls but with brown rIce. My husband was very clear that we wanted all the rolls made with brown rice. They came in all white rice. I haven't had sushi with white rice in such a long time, I really didn't enjoy it that way. They also put an additional roll on our platter which had fried pieces and told the waitress that we didn't order that. She just smiled and said it's ok. That greasy fried roll was on our bill. Anyway, no care was given to us. Not sure if we will return here. Unhappy twice is enough for me. read more

Only reason I didn't send it back was I ordered it for take out and didn't feel like going back. The staff was not particularly nice or friendly. I actually felt that some of the servers were quite rude with the way they answered my questions. Now the food; the food was mediocre at best. It was absolutely nothing special. It didn't taste particularly fresh and I wasn't a fan of the selections they had.
