This gas quickly become my favorite local sushi spot. The food is always good! I love how consistent they are so I never worry when I try something new. The sushi is fresh and very fairly priced. I usually order take out and the order is always ready very promptly. No aimlessly waiting for food. There's a few tables to sit and eat at. The staff is super friendly and attentive. Oh no. Based on the high review ratings on Uber Eats and the mostly positive reviews on Yelp, I decided to choose Oh My Sushi for takeout last night. I went with a variety order of: Unagi Don Spicy Tuna Roll Spicy Yellowtail Roll Salmon Avocado Roll I'll start off with the positive and say the Unagi Don was the highlight. They offered a fair portion of eel and if I ever chose to order from here again I'd consider it. Unfortunately, the sushi didn't live up to the expectations. The Spicy Yellowtail was probably my biggest disappointment; there was no heat or spice that I noticed about it. The Spicy Salmon and Salmon Avocado Rolls were OK but it's very hard to knock them unless the fish quality was off. The fish quality was fine but the two big knocks I had against the sushi was the rice and portion size. The rice was ice cold and the portion sizes were small. When you pay a good chunk of money for lunch or dinner, there is a certain amount of expectation when it comes to quality control. I cannot believe this place got 4.5 stars within 148 reviews. I'm not a fine dining expert, but I am a decent cook, a foodie and an avid sushi lover. Been eating sushi before it got popular in the US in the late 90s/early 2000s. And have eaten it in Japan. I don't know if they were having a bad night or a new chef or what. I got several pieces of sushi, apps, and rolls. The tuna was inedible. Good fresh raw tuna has a very distinct taste. This had almost no taste and the texture was awful. I also got a spicy yellowtail roll, which I get whenever and wherever I get sushi. I have ZERO idea what spicy sauce that was, but it does not even qualify as a "version" of a spicy sauce on sushi. I was very confused by this given that some pictures of the food show what I expected. This sauce was red more than orange, and it tasted terrible. It was also just put on top of the sushi roll, rather than mixed into the yellowtail. And, also, inedible. I also got the special Viagra roll. I was amused by the name until I tasted it. This review is long enough so I won't go into details. Ultimately, I only ate one piece as it was also an edible. I also got edamame, which felt mushy and over cooked. Aside from the salmon, the avocado roll, I got was good, as were the gyozo veggie dumplings which I got steamed instead of fried. I'm very very disappointed. I spent a lot of money for myself, and a friend and more than half of the food went in the garbage. It was my first time here and obviously my last. Had the experience to dine in and watch on busy Friday , The service IMPECCABLE. The two women black hair and the other with curly bigger hair was absolutely stunning and very attentive even though it was super busy, I've never seen young girls work this hard , take the phone orders pack to go orders , deal with rude uber and door dash workers and still be able maintain a wonderful attitude. Restaurants that charge you for things that are implied to be complimentary get an automatic 1 star review on Yelp from me. In this case, upon sitting down, the sole waiter, who was busy and preoccupied with the other tables asked while passing by if I'd like water and green tea. I said "sure". There was no mention that there was a charge for the tea. If I had been told that, I would have declined. I don't like green tea enough to pay for a cup of it. I only thought to ask when I saw there was a teabag in the cup set before me. That's when I was told there was a charge. This really left a bad taste in my mouth (no pun intended), and it made me decide to leave. I paid them for the green tea that I didn't drink and I left, and they seemed ok with that. Today, travel for work didn't suck but the traffic in Jersey did. Stopped in here for a quick sushi lunch special and it was so fresh, I ordered a couple pieces more.
