AMAZING!!! AMAZING!!! AMAZING!!! A hidden gem in NYC , authentic Sicilian Cuisine and outstanding service by Vincenzo. I had the Cous cous Pesce and if my stomach was bigger I would eat 5lbs of that haha !!! Their Bruschetta is simply the best I ever had . The vibe is cozy and welcoming , decor is very authentic Can't wait to go back and try different dishes . YOU MUST TRY THIS PLACE ... IT IS SPECTACULAR.

My boyfriend took me here Valentine's Day and i absolutely loved it! It has a very warm and homey feel. Super intimate restaurant with sultry lighting. Everything we had was beyond delicious. My favorites were the whipped ricotta and the lasagna. Our server was knowledgeable and answered any questions we had.

Wonderful place! Highly recommend the lasagna, best I've had! Super cute inside if you want to sit down but also good for take out while watching a movie! We've done both!

Best Italian food in New York City. We ordered: - pistachio pesto with shrimp: 7.5/10 - gnocchi: 10/10 - free bread for the table with olive oil: 9.5/10 - torta della nonna: 10/10 We came here on a Saturday night at 5:30 and the restaurant was surprisingly empty and quiet. I would recommend this restaurant to all my friends or family looking for Italian food. Ambiance was nice and romantic, but family friendly as well!

This restaurant so beautiful!!! It's a good spot for cute dates hahaha!! I love the pizza and pasta!! Everyone so friendly, by the way i love the lady manager who welcome the customers or makes appointments for the ppl, she's so nice and sweet, they did a great job :)

    The Diavolo pizza is fantastic

Norma is one of those rare special places that is simple, understated, and makes you want to just stay there and enjoy. Unhurried, authentic. Even the olives are wonderful. The Diavola pizza is tasty with the slightest kick of heat. The crust is pitch perfect -- billowy and chewy with the exact crunch you hope for every time you go somewhere 'special' that claims to do pizza right. The white wine -- Terrazze dell'Etna Ciuri Terre Siciliane Bianco -- is crisp and perfect for a warm day without the bite that sometimes comes with Italian whites. This place seems perfect for anything -- business lunch, date night, happening to pop by... I'll go out of. Y way to visit here again. And I can't wait.

This place seems to boast a few Italian natives as their servers/chefs. The ambiance is dark, with a lot of high backed booth seating (I found this uncomfortable). It's not all that well kept - a bit sticky and grimy in places. But the server was informative and eager. I wouldn't recommend the margherita pizza - it had a bit of a soggy crust and didn't really impress. They did have a rather interesting and lovely pasta (Busiate al pesto Trapanese) which was light and had an almond(?) crumble.

Ambiance: You can sit in three different locations at this restaurant. One infront of the restaurant (on the street and next to the bicycle lane), you can sit inside, or they have a backyard section (which I didn't get to see). I chose to sit inside and right off the bat it's very cute. The lights are dim (but you can still see the menu) and the vibes are Italian vintage. It creates a cozy and romantic setting. Only complaint is that the space is a little tight. You have to squeeze between the tables in the inside of the restaurant which can make it uncomfortable with the other patrons. Service: We had about three different men serve us throughout the night (one would drop off some food and clean our table, one would take our order and check in on us, another asking if we wanted dessert). All the waiters were attentive and friendly and quick to respond to any requests. Some things that I took note of (pros): they clean the crumbs off your table if they see it's become dirty, they pack your leftovers for you, they take away finished plates relatively quick. Food: The food was amazing. So flavorful and filling. I got the arancini ragu (I'm not usually into rice balls because I find them flavorless, but this has sauce and peas and meat on the inside that just blended so well); I'd definitely get this again. I also got the potato croquettes with their garlic aioli and it was also delicious! I ended up splitting one main with my friend as we had a feeling the other foods would fill us (which we were right). For our main we got the Anelletti Siciliani; it was unique and sooooo good. We still had some leftover (which surprisingly tasted even better when I warmed it up in the microwave later on). If you want Italian definitely look into this spot. Its menu has a wide arrange of options, the vibes are chill, and the food is tasty. I will definitely be back again!

Wow. What an incredible meal. From the bread we received at the start, all the way to the dessert at the end, I'm thoroughly convinced this is the best Italian food I've ever had. The restaurant is super intimate. Quiet, open kitchen design with a patio out back and seating available out front on the sidewalk as well. We were treated very kindly here, and the pasta was incredible. Can't wait to come back

Pasta con Sarde a Timballo after busting it open

If not for the fact the portions are quite small, and the prices are quite high, this would be a perfect review. I guess that would be Manhattan for you. It is a shame because the food is first class, first rate, first in every category, except price. The service is pretty first rate as well. This review focuses mainly on the food. Every item I ordered was fresh and delicious. My server was intelligent and knew exactly what direction to point me in. This is not just a pizzeria, this is like walking into your Nonna's kitchen and enjoying rustic Italian dishes that you likely will not see at most Italian establishments. How many of them do you know of serve Timballo? Not many, I presume. The lack of free bread hurts too. Sure, you get a free basket, but I think every basket thereafter costs you. That is not how you entertain guests. Despite the high prices and lack of a bread democracy, I can recommend and would like to return to try another unique dish of theirs.

Norma is so good, they opened another branch in Hells Kitchen. The three of us shared a salad, two rice balls and pasta, just enough food for dinner. I don't know what they do with arugula and balsamic dressing, but it far surpasses what I make at home. My favorite is the Al Burra Arancina with mozzarella, prosciutto and béchamel sauce. While I wouldn't have chosen the Tagliolini Lamb, nobody had to twist my arm to take seconds. You can sit out front on Third Avenue, inside if you prefer, and I assume the charming garden in the back is still an option for an al fresco meal.

Pizza with prosciutto and mushrooms. And Arancini Ragu.

I'd recommend sharing mains together and trying out the different pastas! Calamari (3/5): the squid was cooked to a nice tenderness, but imo I don't think calamari goes too well with guacamole, there was also a bit of a bitter aftertaste with the squid. Bucatini cacio e pepe (3/5): The pasta was very al dente, maybe a little too al dente, but in general it could have benefited from something else because its doused in cream and cheese with some black pepper which can get very heavy and redundant. Tagliatelle verdi (4/5): ragu was a lil salty but I liked the pasta, it tasted healthy because they def put a vegetable in there, but personally the truffle didn't need to be there, changed the whole flavor profile of the pasta and overpowered the ragu. Pistachio pesto (5/5): I've never had pistachio pesto but loved the sweetness of the nuts that complemented the savoriness of the sauce and salmon. I liked the creaminess of it, and the choice of pasta was fun.

My girlfriend had the Linguine with clams, which she very much enjoyed. Eating inside, the atmosphere gave a somewhat authentic Italian feel - service was appropriately attentive - no rush, but things arrived in a manner that was timely, but suggested that care was taken in preparing our meals. The price of the meal was a bit high - an iced tea is $5 and a plate of pasta or appetizer is pushing $25-30, so I wouldn't eat here every day, but I will certainly keep this place in mind for future trips to the city.

Even though it was peak time on a friday, the host found a way to seat us. The food was awesome, especially the green tagliatelle. Would definitely go back! Food: 5 Service: 5 Value: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Food: We ordered the bruschetta, lasagna, and green tagliatelle with boar ragu. The bread for the table was a single focaccia about 5" in diameter and maybe 1.5" tall. It wasn't the dense, oily focaccia you typically see, but a moist and fluffy bread almost like a dinner roll. The bruschetta was very flavorful, but slightly disappointing because it used the same foccacia. The lasagna had great flavor and texture. The tagliatelle was the highlight of the meal - the pasta was cooked perfectly and truffle oil and shavings shone through. Service: Service was awesome. In addition to helping resolve our reservation issue, the staff were helpful in suggesting dishes and were prompt and communicative Value: The pastas are in the $25-$30 range and the bruschetta was $22. Thats pretty standard for the area for good pasta, but maybe a little much for the bread.
