Terrible wait time for our food and considering the place was half empty. The food is not up to par by any means .

Just look at the sad pictures of what I got vs. what they show on their website. For $16 that is all you get. They give a tiny piece of chicken breast and I don't even know if it was from a chicken or from a pigeon because its so tiny. It doesnt even have the roasted zucchini as shown on the picture. Their other combos were quite suitable serving, but the chicken garlic mushroom was just pure sadness. Why they even put it in such big packaging it only emphasize how small their serving is. Disgusting place my sandwich is soggy from all the grease not even toasted just soggy and cold . I opened my sandwich because it didn't look like it had any meat on it and I find a long grey curly hair in between the "sausage" . I ordered online and I'm very disappointed. Newer and crowded restaurant in Carson near the corner of Avalon and Del Amo. There was a 20 minute wait and we sat at the bar and were served immediately. There was a trainee serving us and a lady training her. They were both nice and accommodating. We had unlimited refills on our coffee and water. We ordered the Steak and Eggs breakfasts. One steak was cooked and my steak was not cooked as well. I ordered well but got medium well. Overall the food, atmosphere and restaurant was good and we enjoyed the visit a lot. Norms charges a food surcharge of 3% to cover the food portions, which are large and great so I have no problem paying it. We will return. read more

We were in the area doing some shopping and noticed the Norms situated in the plaza. A pleasant surprise. It was crowded, as to be expected, but we requested to be seated at the bar and were served instantly. Our hostess was new and in- training. However, she delivered the most attentive and genuine service. We were actually waited on by 3 different hostesses. Our food arrived in good time, considering the crowd. We ordered the steak and eggs. My steak was cooked to perfection, but my friend's steak was not done to his liking. Everything else was really good and tasted fresh. I'm glad to see more restaurants open up near the Carson center and plan to return again soon. read more

Don't waste your time at this location. It's horrible. We walked in, no one in line in front of us. Took 10 mins to be seated and the restaurant was maybe 1/3 full, I quickly found out why. The service is TERRIBLE and by terrible I mean non-existent, for my son and I. We were sat at 745 pm. NO ONE CAME TO TAKE OUR ORDER. We sat there til 8pm and my son was complaining he was hungry and wanted to know when he could order. We could see servers were attending to allllll the other tables but we couldn't even get water. I came here at 12am because this was one of the few places open late in the South Bay. When we came in, we were placed in a corner where no one could see us. The table was also a bit dirty, some crumbs here and there and a sticky residue at one end of the table. I had to ask for napkins and clean the table myself because they were kind of understaffed late at night. Our server was nowhere to be found at first and I had to go flag her down. Service was okay. Our server had an odd attitude, I guess because it was late at night and she was tired? The food was terrific though which is why I will give them 4 stars despite the dirty table and slightly bad service. We got the bigger better breakfast. Steak was juicy and cook as ordered. The hasbrowns were great because we asked for them to be extra crispy! The turkey melt was awesome! Crispy and toasty on the outside while cheesy and oozy in the middle. Onion rings were perfect! So crispy and well seasoned. It went really well with a side of ranch. Tip: you can ask to replace or substitute any item in your meal as you like. For example, the bigger better breakfast came with hot cakes but we opted for more hasbrowns instead. read more

Sitting here waiting and the service is long & not great. We were seated for 10 minutes before anyone decided to acknowledge us. We sat at the bar because the wait seemed kinda long but the bar service was no better. We sat another 15 minutes after ordering before the waiter decided to say...should be coming out shortly. Geesh! I understand their busy but the service doesn't have to be crap. Should the waiters be wiping down counters in back with a rag then handling food without washing their hands? So I ordered the Gobble Gobble breakfast that comes with (3) Turkey Sausages, (3) Turkey bacon strips, eggs, hash browns & (2) pancakes. I substituted the turkey bacon for pork bacon & the hash browns for house potatoes. Let me tell you...those pancakes were buttery & melted in my mouth. Man! It was definitely worth my wait. Me and my girlfriend ended up coming to Norms for our Valentines Day date since nearby restaurants were insanely busy. My girlfriend ordered a Fried Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo with a side of salad and soup, I ordered a Mac N Cheese with a side of fries. Our waiter (Alejandro) said to me that the Mac N cheese comes with a side of soup and salad which I told him no I wanted a side of fries with my Mac n cheese. 15 minutes later after we placed our order my girlfriend received her main course also with her soup and salad. Alejandro comes back with a plate of fries which I was a little skeptical about because he could've easily carried my main course in the other hand. 15 minutes later after waiting for my Mac n Cheese my girlfriend complained Alejandro saying "my boyfriend didn't receive his food ? What's taking forever" which he responded to "Oh I thought you only wanted the fries" like no I specifically told him I wanted Max n cheese with a side of fries which he responded too oh I canceled your Mac N Cheese order because he thought all I wanted was the fries by itself, Alejandro said he'll go back and put it in as an emergency order, 10 minutes after waiting he comes back saying how my order can't be delivered because it was behind 4 orders which not only upset me but definitely my girlfriend. Equating this to a normal American diner like Denny's or IHOP and not some fancy restaurant, I'd give NORMS Carson 4 stars. The place is fairly new and just recently opened up at Carson mall so everything is well-maintained, modern, and clean, which is something I appreciate in restaurants. We came in on a Wednesday night around 9pm with a party of 9. We only had to wait a couple of minutes for our table to get ready. Service was 5 stars. Our waitress was so patient with our party and accommodating. All of our orders were right and the time to wait for our orders was just about right. Food was 4 stars, relative to the typical American diner, steaks were okay, pancakes were pancakes and the deep fried foods tasting how deep fried foods are supposed to taste. All in all, we left satisfied and happy. The table we were sat at had trash on it still which was removed right away but the table wasn't wiped down. My husband got the classic steak trio with chicken gumbo soup and salad. I ended up choosing the braised beef chilaquiles. When we got our food I noticed that our silverware was still dirty not just with water spots but with food as well. The waitress replaced them right away. The taste of the food was not what I was expecting. The chilaquiles were very dry and the braised beef had no flavor. The beans it came with were also flavorless. I did not end up finishing it. The soup was lacking flavor despite all the ingredients in it. The salad was just a small handful of greens. Okay so let's start off by saying if you're looking for a 5 star restaurant you're in the wrong place but there's nothing wrong with that when it comes to Norms. This place is what it is and that is sort of fast diner food, old school style food, with okay flavors. It's a nostalgic sit down dinner with your parents kind of food. The service was great! My only problem and it's pretty big PLEASE DONT TRY TO SAVE A BUCK ON SYRUP! It's mainly a breakfast place so use real MAPLE SYRUP. It was super obvious that it was VERY UNNATURAL COLORED CORN SYRUP. I had to ask the lovely waitress to show me the bottle from which they refill their table syrup with and it was about 10 ingredients to make that pail high fructose corn syrup trash. The ambience is cool besides that claw machine that steals innocent kids hopes and money not to mention the hard working budget conscious parents who give them the money and has to deal with the tears of saying no you can't have money to their child or wiping their tears from losing their money. I understand the machine makes money for someone but please do away with it. I love Norms just get rid of the tan corn syrup you call Maple Syrup and the claw machine and it will be more family friendly. A low volume jukebox with classic old school records from the 50's/60's will be awesome! read more

Welcome to Carson Norms!!!! Another great staple in the community. Located on Avalon next to Jersey Mike's, adjacent to Burlington coat factory. Plenty of parking and plenty people waiting to eat. Sunday morning 8 am with a 10 minute wait along with friendly faces upon entering. This place is nice. Same Norms with a modern edge. T.v. s align the wall of the counter area. Not taking away from the aesthetics, but making it more of an appealing comfortable experience. I'm not sure if this will be a permanent decoration, but the balloon designs hanging from the ceiling were super cute and is a great accent to the modern feel. We had the pleasure of having Bertha as our waitress and she was good. Friendly and smiling. My honey forgot to ask for no tomatoes, and when it was served with tomatoes she had no frown or eye rolling when asked if she could remake the hash browns. That's an A in my book. Great job Bertha. Food was great! I ordered the has brown scramble. It was my first time and it was so delish. Perfectly cooked with melted cheese, and bacon. I ordered avacado on the side. This is gonna be my go to. First visit to the new location. Nice to see everything so shiny and new, though we still had a table with a piece of folded cardboard to level one of the legs. We did have a large party (13), celebrating a friend's birthday, which of course posed its own challenges. For the most part, everything was good. A couple in our party had minor issues with the food (slightly undercooked eggs and hash browns, despite very specific requests upon ordering, etc.). Our waitress was probably rather new; though very friendly and helpful, did make a few mistakes. The MOD also popped by to make sure everything was satisfactory.
