This place is awful. They had Groupon deals before change of ownership and they don't honor purchased Groupons. If you don't contact Groupon for refund, your money is gone. We were able to eat here twice. The staff were friendly and the food was good. I had the breakfast tacos one visit (see photo) and the other time a chorizo omelette. Both were good but the tacos with the fresh avocado was particularly memorable. I recommend getting fruit cup instead of potatoes. I stopped here one day because a friend mentioned it had a good burger. It is easy to drive by, but is worth a visit. It is a breakfast lunch spot and closes at 2:00. It might get crowded in the morning, but it has been really pleasant after lunch if you like to have lots of distance from others. The service is excellent and everyone is friendly. When I went a second time I'm pretty sure I was remembered because I was asked if I wanted an extra item that I had requested the first time. Nestled perfectly in downtown Petaluma. Really close to the movie theater and shops! I saw a yelp review about the pancakes and I had to give it a try myself! As soon as I walked in I was greeted by someone and I was able to pick my seat. It was pretty packed and noise definitely traveled but didn't kill my experience. I really appreciate the decor very trendy and unique. One wall has almost like a large sized colorful post it notes? Hard to describe but very cool! I got the breakfast tacos and blueberry pancakes. I was told fruit or potatoes comes with the breakfast tacos so I ordered fruit. Later to find out I was charged for the fruit separately. Pancakes were huge and a great price for $5.50 most breakfast/brunch spots charge $9 for a short stack! 3 breakfast tacos with salsa and sour cream. The salsa was super spicy haha. Salsa added great flavors though. I would come back to try some of the mexican dish options. Someone who sat next to me had what it looked like to be a super yumny meal. Okay, I voted last time with 3 stars pending a return visit. I am happy to vote to increase to 4 stars based on: 1) lasting power, my prior review was in 2017 and nothing happened as they are still in business. 2) food still excellent, tonight my wife and I had salads, mine the chef and hers the cobb. Both were uncommonly excellent. 3) service was spot on, even they were close to quitting time. 4) menu was eclectic and interesting Coffee and tea, water, and bill were presented quickly. We have eaten and had great food in the past. What a shame that the food has changed. Turkey club had processed turkey instead of sliced turkey. Omelette had what looked like cheese, however it had no flavor and resembled silly putty! I honestly do not understand why there are such high reviews of this place as I did not enjoy my experience at all. I ordered the 'big breakfast' or something that included eggs, bacon, hash browns and biscuits and gravy. I was extremely disappointed. The biscuits were hard like cardboard and obviously not fresh and the gravy was very bland I added a substantial amount of hot sauce. The biscuit was way too hard though for it to make much of a difference. I asked for extra crispy hash browns and bacon and the hash browns were still very soft and even though the bacon was crispy, it was terrible. The coffee as the star of the show for me, they use Taylor Maid Farms coffee and it was very good. My friend's coffee drink, however, was awful. She ordered an iced vanilla latte and when it arrived it looked like it was milk in a glass it was so white. On top of that there was so much vanilla flavoring in it it tasted like drinking liquid sugar, i know because I tried it. We added a bunch of my coffee into it to try and make it look like some coffee was actually in there and nothing helped this drink. The place is very open and roomy but I just feel like they don't know what they are doing. There was 3 tables total and the server was having an incredibly hard time figuring things out and could not figure out our transaction. We waited about 15 minutes before our payment was even picked up and afterwards it took about another 10 minutes for it to be processed and someone else had to come out and help her and finish it. The restrooms are outside the building down a hallway shared with some of the other businesses in that area. They were clean and sanitary and it didn't bother me that I had to walk just a short distance to access them, but there is only one key available for a bathroom that has a few stalls so you do have to wait if someone else in the restaurant is using the bathroom. BOTTOM LINE: I wouldn't return. I like trying new, local establishments but this one isn't one I'd give another try. They do have donuts and bagels in a display case that I did not try and maybe those might be good for someone on the run but otherwise, I wouldn't try anything else. Food is very mediocre and overall I was very disappointed. I don't try to leave negative reviews on yelp but this place was just not good. read more

What a sweet little find! I was looking to try a new spot for breakfast food in Petaluma, and the various types of eggs Benedict on the menu is what initially drew me to this restaurant. We dropped in at 11am for brunch on a Monday. There was only one woman working as a server, but she was great, and very attentive! Our food was prepared fairly quickly, and everyone in our party of five was very pleased with their meals. We enjoyed a quiet and leisurely meal, and the restaurant was nice and quiet, so it was easy for our group to converse, which was nice. The side of fruit I got with my meal was particularly fresh. Conveniently located in downtown Petaluma, North Bay cafe is an easy, consistent breakfast choice for anyone. I like to call it a greasy spoon but I guess that's offensive. What I mean to indicate is that it's classic American breakfast food. I'm sure they do more than that do, but it's essentially a good breakfast diner. I often get the chicken fried steak, and kenzie usually gets the huevos rancheros, or the breakfast burrito. Remember, if you would prefer to eat at home, you can always call ahead and pick up your order. Service is always friendly. read more

I really wanted to love this place, I really did....but i didn't. It's a great location and a nice place (at bit noisy, but not a big deal). The servers were friendly and helpful, but they never stopped by to fill coffee or water until we were completely empty and had to ask. 4 of us had breakfast on Sunday: ME: I had an omelette (the choices were "omelette" or "scramble"). An omelette has all of the goodies INSIDE an egg wrap and a "scramble", is just that i.e. the goodies all scrambled together. What I got was obviously a "scramble". The chef just mixed my extra's into the eggs, made sure they were as dry as possible, then folded the whole mess in half (I assume to make it "look like an omelette"). The eggs were so dry that they cracked along the "fold" line. I asked the waitress about this and she agreed and was going to take it back to the chef, but I was hungry and just ate it anyway...but it was disappointing. The coffee just tasted like Folgers or Farmer Bros (typical diner fare), nothing good or special. My husband: He ordered the Lox Eggs Benedict. The hollandaise sauce wasn't home made or even close, it was instant - YECH! The Eng. Muffin wasn't toasted at all, so it was a soggy mess and the poached egg was over cooked. They meal was served with frozen (from a package) hash browns, the rectangular ones where the outside might get a bit crisp (if the cook bothers to COOK them), but the inside was just warm. Son's friend: He had the breakfast burrito and said it was "just OK". My son: He had bacon, eggs and hash browns and again, he said they were "just OK". It's not rocket science re how to cook these breakfasts. On a busy weekend, how can you even think of serving instant hollandaise sauce? Came here for breakfast on a Sunday morning at 8 am. It was quiet inside with plenty of seating. We were greeted immediately and brought cups or coffee. I ordered the French toast with two eggs and sausage. All of it was very good and didn't leave me feeling stuffed though I did eat it all. My husband enjoyed his breakfast as well. We brought our ten month old and the place seemed very kid friendly. It was affordable and we were happy. No complaints! We will definitely be back in the future. They have a very nice espresso machine too so I might try a latte next time we're in. read more

The staff are very welcoming, and quick to get you seated and assited. The food is all very americana. We were served quickly considering it was a saturday during lunch time. The kitchen makes the Corned beef themselves I was informed and you can tell because it is very flavorful. The chili and eggs was good but the chili was not made in house. The Chillaquillas were OK. They were different then I am use to. The tortilla strips are made from corn tortillas cut and deep fried. Then they serve black beans and eggs on the side. Quick friendly service! When we walked in we were instantly greeted by a friendly employee, and we chose were we sat. The waitress asked for our orders and within 8 minutes we were eating. The food was delicious and the waiters and waitresses often checked in to see how we were doing. I think that this was one of the best breakfasts that I've had in a while.
