I answered, "No. Not interested in your service now or in the future." Given the big hype on their phonemail about customer service and happy customers, the cavalier attitude (after I arranged my schedule and was forced to re-schedule my yard clean-up ,etc because of the no-show, and would have to hire another contractor) surprised me. Almost as surprised as when the Spotless truck appeared in the morning many days later, and I repeated to the crew leader that I had terminated Spotless. Shortly afterward, I received an email that my appointment was canceled. The "family" crew that I hired was reasonably priced, efficient, and honest. Rather than trying to sell me an entirely new roof, Sal proposed a repair solution that only someone with decades of experience would have identified. It was practical, cost-effective, and exactly what the situation required. As someone who owns multiple properties and routinely manages construction and renovation projects, I have a solid understanding of what constitutes fair pricing. Sal's proposal was more than reasonable. I told him he could get to work immediately and we sealed the deal with a handshake. Over the next six hours, his crew reframed a section of the roof, eliminated a problematic gutter configuration, tied the new construction seamlessly into the existing roof, installed the necessary copper flashing, waterproofed the entire area, and completed the shingle installation.
