    Terrible salad with salmon
    Jin S.

Wow, this was amazingly bad. This was the smallest and thinnest piece of salmon I've ever had. It was $14 extra just for that sad piece of "fish". It was also extremely dry even though I ordered it medium. It tasted like a frozen fish stick. I think the whole thing was fried? Abomination. The salad was also bland. The cheese (of the 3 pieces they put) tasted like cardboard. You can't even see the cheese in the photo. Sad tiny pieces of avocado. They ran out of the seasonal vegetables I originally ordered. I have no idea what happened here. Our main server was nice. The ambiance had a corporately chain restaurant vibe. Someone else had half of their pizza and left the rest. Guess that wasn't good either. $43 after tip and tax just for this "salad" and a lemonade. And $16 for valet after tip and tax. This is definitely a "never again" in my book.

The food is so yummy. I love how dim it is in the restaurant. The service was great and fast. The desert was absolutely delicious.

Had a nice early supper here on the patio. Dog friendly :) I thought the Burratta ($18) was very unique and delicious, and the chicken parmesan ($26) was humongous and great as well. I loved the creamy pasta on the side too. Love that they will split a portion for you. Do yourself a favor and ignore the calorie counts on the menu - yikes! Staff is super nice.

I stopped by for lunch with coworkers to celebrate a birthday, and we had a great experience. The space has a clean, modern feel, and we were greeted and seated right away. Our server was fantastic--fun, attentive, and polite. We started with the Calamari Fritti, then two of us ordered the Trottole Chicken Pesto while the other opted for the soup. We even saved room for dessert, and everything was delicious. Overall, a solid experience -- I'd happily come back again.

The ambiance was very nice. The service was impeccable. Our server was very attentive and explained everything on the menu. We went at happy hour for half price bottles of wine and reduced bar food. The Pezzo Morgana Red was a terrific buy. We started with the Farmer's Charcuterie Board. The pink beets were extra special. The Cacio e Pepe Rancini was delicious and the pizza was great. We were so full that we had to skip dessert. I will be back to savor more!

It is so nice to know you can have pasta al dente somewhere, and that place is here. The service is always great! And it gets packed because it's good!!! Please keep making these delicious dishes, never stop being awesome to your customers, we do appreciate the effort! I tried the spicy vodka pasta, and red rib dish. They were both fenomenal. The espresso was great as well, there's nothing I don't like about this place. Love coming back to try new things.

We love the chicken parm here!! We stopped by for a late dinner around 9 and were sat and ate and left before 10! It was great timing for food and service was helpful despite our late arrival The decor is v cute and modern - fun mural inside and cool light fixtures We tied the prosciutto bruschetta as well - comes topped with asparagus too - great app! Tried a raspberry cocktail with a foam and it was delicious!! My husband and I split the chicken parm since it was late but perfect portion if you're looking for a lighter dinner!! Street parking / parking garage is your best bet around here

Had lunch with a friend here on a whim. Will definitely be returning. The food and service were excellent.

North Italia never disappoints. Yes, it's a national chain and there are so many quaint and local authentic options in Austin, but we specifically went there to check out their cacio pepe martini and gluten-free pizza. To anyone who is GF, their pizza crust is REALLY good. Like, we ate the whole pie. And their branzino? GET IT. It was so crispy, lemoney, and herby... and the accompanying veggies and onions were also devoured. And to those who sip organic wines, they have at least one red and white option by the glass. It was a total win for me and checked all the boxes I needed. TY!

    Restaurant week menu

Another late post for restaurant week. Had a reservation and was sat right away. The set up was interesting with long separate high tops that could be pushed together for larger groups or separated for smaller parties. They had an outdoor patio which right now would be perfect compared to August when I went. The restaurant week menu gave several Options, I went with the meatballs to start, bolognese and then tiramisu for dessert. Ricky was the team member who took care of me and they did a good job. Close to dessert there was a large party that was sat and I kinda fell off the radar. Took a minute to get dessert and then the check so that would be the only downside. Otherwise clean restaurant, restrooms were great and the food delicious. The portions were huge so a great value for being restaurant week.

Geez Louis this place is absolutely fantastic! The servers are all super friendly, and the location is in the heart of everything. The inside is glass wall lined and beautifully decorated with flowers and wine bottles. The pasta, salad, and pizza are all equally deliscious...10 outta 10! This is honestly my top 5 fav Italian spots, just go try it and the taste will speak for itself.

North Italian you never miss, and I love you for that. Service is always wildly fast, which I guess they have to be for how busy they always are but it is pretty impressive. Vibes are always solid, it gets loud but not to the point that you can't hear the person you're eating and chatting with. Food is always solid, sometimes a lil salty but nothing a little squeeze of lemon can't fix. Which they are always so generous and give me a fat plate of lemons when I ask lol. Also the shrimp appetizer? HUGE. And the sauce? If it was socially acceptable and not filled with a lethal amount of sodium... I would drink it. Enough said.

Got seated immediately but a server didn't talk to us for a while. The server mentioned some chef's specialties so that's what we ended up ordering in addition to a pesto pasta. The pizza was so good! I loved corn on pizza and the fresh veg with the pepperoni was great. Also loved the crust on it! Crispy and fluffy! I did like the interior of the restaurant, a very cool vibe

Ask the Community - North Italia

    Is the patio dog friendly?

    Yes!

    Is the pasta fresh/homemade?

The pasta is fresh. It is cooked to a perfect al dente. I suspect because of the size of the linguine, it was homemade.

Hi there! Can y'all cater to a party of 20?

I've seen them cater to that many, but I highly suggest calling to make reservations.

    Is pizza thin crust?

More neopolitan style. Not crispy but not deep dish.

Do they validate parking in the garage or elsewhere?

No, I don't believe there is any validation. There are a few places to park close by, but the garage across the street is one of the more expensive options. Waze will take you to a lot just up the road a bit that was around $10 last time we were…

What time is their happy hour?

Hello! Happy Hour is Monday to Thursday from 3pm to 6pm. Come join us!

    Is there close parking?

There is an open lot one block north. You can park there for 3 hours for a reasonable rate.

They had no issues when taking our second round order while we were seated, but we were asked to leave the table immediately after. This round also took forever and we drank it standing, crowded, in everyone's way. I was embarrassed as it was my birthday, and I was taking a group of 7 other people - new to Austin - here to check out what was one of my favorite spots. I was bragging about it and chose it over other spots on their list. They hated it. I'm disappointed. Our server was great to us and apologetic about the service bar.

I usually only go to coffee shops to work, but today, went on a coffee date with my dog instead. There's ground floor parking in the garage that's complimentary for two hours. I kept it simple with a vanilla latte. I noticed they had tacos at the bottom of the food menu, but at $13.25 for two tacos + an a la carte item, I decided to pass. Maybe my expectations were too high (as usual) because it's inside a hotel, but I was hoping for the kind of warm hospitality hotels are known for, but instead, the service felt a bit cold. It didn't exactly make me want to spend more money there. While sitting on the patio, I spotted the food truck outside and thought, "PERFECT. A food truck HAS to be cheaper. Take that Simona's!" I walked up to the window... only to find out it wasn't actually a separate food truck. It was just the pickup window. To order? I had to go back inside to Simona's and place my order with the delightful staff... I ended up ordering two Blue Migas tacos, and honestly, they were just... good, but nothing memorable. They tasted like your average breakfast tacos that you can find all over Austin for less. Despite loving how relaxing the outdoor patio is with its lucious greenery surrounding you and the beautiful French chairs and cafe tables, it's located right next to the hotel pool. If you're visiting on a summer afternoon, expect some extra noise with pool guests. If you're looking for a quiet coffee or a place to work, I'd recommend coming early in the morning instead.

The bartender claimed I was drunk and cut me off anyway. I was at the bar talking to a girl while waiting to get a drink (the wait was long because the service is very slow, despite the bar not being very busy at all). She was clearly into me, and the bartender kept jumping in trying to talk to her too (instead of doing his job making drinks). He was doing all sorts of things to try and flirt with her and make her laugh: pulling out and showing her buckets of pre mixed cocktails, running and sliding under the bar, etc. She was engaging with both of us , and right in the middle of that, I get cut off out of nowhere. No explanation other than claiming I looked drunk, which I very clearly wasn't. It felt very clear what was going on--he wanted me out of the way. I left and asked the bouncer on my way out if I seemed drunk. This was literally two minutes later. He said no, not at all, and asked me why I would even ask that. I then told him exactly what happened and asked him to let the owner or whoever was in charge know about this extremely unprofessional conduct so they can discipline the bartender. His response was that the bartender has discretion to cut anyone off, and let me know the bartender is supposedly married so he couldn't have been flirting with any of the customers. Well, sounds like his logic is flawed--not only COULD he flirt with his customers, he WAS, and was therefore cheating. I hope his wife finds out. This is perfectly representative of Austin customer service lately and not normal in other places. I was in Tampa for an entire month earlier this year and this would've been unthinkable there. I'm not coming back.

It's a perfect place to stop after dinner to extend the evening with a couple of drinks. Service (James ) was perfect and the cocktails were tasty, elegant and just the right amount of liquor. As for the venue itself: The inside is spacious and elegant. The bar stools are extremely comfortable. In fact, I'd describe them as elevated loungers. The main area is a good size and shape for larger groups. I appreciated that the music was not too loud to chat with your date. The restrooms are very clean and nice. The outdoor area in back was the biggest surprise. They have a nice, covered area with new outdoor furniture that is equipped with a pool table. Revenge is a hidden treasure. I recommend it for a relaxed, elegant evening.

They may not have expected so many people because it took a while to order a drink at the bar. It was not easy to navigate to the bar with the seats and I think another pole like obstruction, but my friend and I got our cocktails (Brushfire, Ranch water, vodka soda, and one other) and enjoyed them. It was hard to hear people talking inside so we went outside to enjoy their outside patio area and easier to hear conversations. Overall, I thought it was a nice bar with a cool vibe, interesting cocktail options, and various types of seating options.
