I wish Northeast Pizza was in my neighborhood! I've been about 5 times now, so it's time for a review. It's a super cute Northeast neighborhood spot with an eclectic Gumby-inspired interior. It's authentic NYC style pizza through and through. Expect thin slices you can fold. You can order whole pies, individual slices, drinks and salads. Seating is mixed with tables, booths and bar seating. I've seen a mix of people, including families eat here. Probably because it's wallet friendly for individuals and small groups. It kinda reminds me of a 70s/80s style pizza tavern of yore. You order up at the counter and wait for food to be delivered. The guys working are super friendly. My favorites are cheese slices and the P.H.H.P. (Pepperoni, Hot Honey and Jalapeno.) Their Caesar salad is bangin' too. If you dine in, make sure to get your utensils and water at the service station. My *only* small criticism is that I wish their crust were a bit more salted. The texture is great! Second visit, and Northeast Pizza continues to impress. This time I ordered the pepperoni, jalapeño, and hot honey pizza, and it was fantastic. The jalapeños brought just the right amount of heat while the hot honey balanced everything with a touch of sweetness and nothing was overpowering on the pizza. For around $22, you get a pretty large pizza, making it a great value. And once again, the crust was the standout; crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, and packed with flavor. After two visits, it's safe to say I'll keep coming back to work my way through the rest of the menu. read more

We love to pop around to local pizza joint to try and find the best one and northeast pizza is definitely in the top of our list after our visit. We got a slice of the P.H.H.P. Delicious and not too spicy for those of you that read jalapeños and hot honey and think too spicy. Nope it is just right with pepperoni and cheese. Then we asked the server his favorite pizza he said the Vodka. He was right on@with his recommendation. It is cheese bread with great vodka sauce on top, no dipping required. Picked up a pizza to go and it was so good!!! The crust, is one of those that you know is good just by touching it. It was crisp and chewy at the same time. I have a picky pizza eating husband, who is from Chicago and even he approves. I picked up a couple of their chocolate chip cookies that they had by the register and OMGGGGG they're so good too, thin, crisp on the edges, chewy in the middle, and sea salt sprinkled on top! Northeast Pizza in Pendleton Heights goes straight to my favorite pizza places in KC metro. I am not sure whether it's because of New York style pizza or just the vibe here. We spent around 2+ hrs for lunch at this place. We ordered a 16" Northeast supreme pizza & it was so good. Crust was thin & perfect enough to give you space so you can enjoy the taste of pizza. We also ordered a couple of slice of PHHP (Pepperoni Hot honey Pizza) You have to order the pizza at the ordering place first and they'll bring it right to your table. Ambience is so beautiful here with a lot of cute little things that I noticed. Be it a lot of plants, Vintage KC metro map, candy machines etc., Staffs here are so kind and friendly. They gave a cute little plant to one of us home. I will surely come back here to checkout other things in menu. read more

The decor is great, dudes throwing fresh dough behind the counter, pizza by the slice, cans of soda- and the pizza is some of the best I've had. We got a slice of vodka and spinach and artichoke. The vodka was SO GOOD. It was like cheesy bread with vodka sauce on top. I wish we would have gotten a whole pizza to go! We planned a trip specifically here while in the state Because of Davey Pageview's review. Our visit lived up to the reviews. One of the best pizzas I've ever had. I tried the PHHP, Pep, cheese, and Margherita. We also had the cookies. The pizza is thin. It is crispy and chewy as others have noted. The guys at the desk are as nice - or nicer - than another reviewer noted. "Next time try the Margherita!", he said. "There won't be a next time. We're from out of state." The other guy said, "can I send you with a slice to go? Free of charge? You have to try it!" Come on! They put it in the oven, pulled it out of the oven cut it in two for me and my daughter to share, grated fresh parm on the top, put it in a box (one slice!) with two plates. It was delicious. 11/10. The Truffle Pig is my weakness. The moment I see it on their IG story, I'm packing up and heading in. Garlic cream sauce. Mozzarella. Scimeca's Italian sausage. Roasted crimini mushrooms. White truffle oil. Parsley. It's savory. Creamy. Funky. Balanced. Mushrooms still have bite. Crust has that perfect baked flavor without being overdone. One of the best slices I've ever had. No exaggeration. The classic cheese hits harder than Mike Tyson. Clean. Honest. Perfect pizza. And the Caesar salad? Ridiculous. Went here last night for date night and left having our new favorite pizza spot in KC. Service was quick efficient and the guys behind the counter were nice to deal with. We got a Margherita pizza with pepperoni. We found the crust to have the perfect balance of crunch and chew and was well proofed and made. The sauce had a great savory but hunt of sweet flavor and the cheese/ pepperoni with the basil made this a perfect slice. It was so dope we almost finished the entire pie when we usually would have eaten only half and taken the rest home as leftovers. The entire experience and the awesome interior was amazing. A wonderful addition to the Historic Northeast Neighborhood of Pendleton Heights. Northeast Pizza is located across the street from PH Coffee in a renovated older building on Lexington Ave. The menu is small with whole pizzas or by the slice and about 3 salad offerings. I ordered 2 slices of pepperoni for $3.75 each and waited a bit while they baked an entire pie since they were out at that moment. As I waited, I watched them throw fresh dough into large crusts and meticulously check the baking pizzas in the large oven that's front and center in the kitchen. My 2 slices were perfect, thin and crisp crust browned wonderfully. Plenty of pepperonis and a nice blend of sauce and cheese making a large foldable slice of pie. I'm really disappointed with how our pickup order was handled. We placed a pickup order through DoorDash because NE Pizza's website was acting up. Once we received a text saying the pizza was ready, we went to pick it up. When we arrived, we were told that the order had already been picked up. I asked if they had verified the pickup with an ID, DoorDash code, or receipt, and they said no. Apparently, someone walked in with a DoorDash bag and they handed over the order without confirming anything. They also leave all of their to-go pizzas in a holder with the customer names clearly visible, which makes it incredibly easy for someone to grab the wrong order/steal one. What was most frustrating was the lack of accountability. They didn't acknowledge that this was their mistake and offered no solution other than for us to reorder and pay for the food again. There was no attempt to remake the order or correct the situation. Really disappointing experience. I hope they implement a better verification process so this doesn't happen to someone else. read more

This place is exactly what this city needs... a cool, reasonably priced pizza joint with a fun, artsy vibe. The pizza is top tier NY Style as well. The sauce is amazing, crust is perfect, and the cheese they use is delicious. It's the best of the bunch in this town, as far as I'm concerned. I know a thing or two about NY style pizza, as I managed a prestigious local (now defunct ) pizza place on and off for about 10 years.
