This was my first time visiting Irvine Center. I met a friend for lunch. And OMG this place was…read morerestaurant city -- it had a restaurant for every taste. This was a Sunday afternoon and the center was packed. And there's plenty of shopping as well. The center is well laid out, emasculatory clean and plenty of places to shop until you drop. Some stores have waiting lines to get inside. My time was limited so I could only spend an hour there after lunch but, without a doubt, I'll be back again in dine and shop.

The magnitude of this shopping, dining, and entertainment center is beyond compare from what I've heard. It offers over 170+ specialty stores, major department stores, well-known restaurants, and entertainment venues. That's gigantic! The premier outside shopping venue is anchored by Nordstrom and Target sharing space with so many more top brands, boutiques, and unique shops. Just to name a handful... Anthropologie, Apple, Bacio de Latte, Barnes & Noble, Build-A-Bear, Cotton On / Cotton On Body, Din Tai Fung, Fabletics, FOGO de CHAO, Georgia's, H&M, lululemon athletica, Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics, MINISO, Nike, Sephora, Silverlake Ramen, SomiSomi, The Melt, Urban Outfitters, Vuori, Yard House I was recently here for dinner at Yard House. Parking was a challenge for sure. Come early to make it easier for you. Anyway, I'm coming back to spend one full day exploring this place in the near future. Ferris wheel and I shall meet once! Join me in the fun and food.

This is one of my favorite outdoor malls in the Orange County area for mall walking. As it is…read morelocated near the beach, the weather is always nice and there are plenty of places to sit and rest your feet at this mall with a nice view of the beach. The mall does tend towards high end stores with a small smattering of standard stores but in general, there are a wide variety of stores. Plenty of dining options from high end or quick casual. You can even do your grocery shopping here as there is a Whole Foods market. They occasionally have special events. I happened to be here during the Lunar New Year event so one of the areas was decked out with Year of the Horse decorations. I also always walk by the Koi pond to see how the fishes are doing. Staff has always been friendly and helpful when I visit.

The Shopping & Entertainment: The Stores: Most of the shops just aren't stores that everyday consumers actually want. It's mostly filled with weird, random boutique stores that no one has ever heard of, charging ridiculous prices like $300 for a single t-shirt. No Movie Theater: For a mall of this size, it's pretty disappointing that they don't even have a movie theater to catch a film. The Silver Lining: Parking: The only consistently good thing about this mall is the parking situation. No matter when you visit, there always seems to be plenty of parking available. Final Verdict: It's a beautiful outdoor space to stroll through, but as a practical place to shop or find entertainment, it's just not the best.

Parking, the worst. Food options, the best. I live fairly close to the plaza, so walking over there…read moremakes it a lot more enjoyable. This plaza has really good options like Chubby Cattle, Haidilao, CoCo Ichibanya, Kickin' Crab, Sunright, etc. There's also an HMart here too! During peak times like weekends and nights, the parking situation is pretty wild, but there are three parking options: parking lot in the plaza, parking structure, and an extended/overflow parking on the other side of HMart. Most places in this plaza is pretty expensive, so you'll likely spend about $20-40 per person at any of the restaurants.

Non-likes: - This large shopping center has only 3 entrances/exits, 2 of which are tucked away. So if you're looking to dine somewhere deep in like at Pepper Lunch, you have to navigate through abundant pedestrian and car traffic to find parking first. The floor plan designers should've included 1 or 2 more exits closer to the Alton Pkwy & Jamboree Rd intersection. - And parking is often horrendous throughout the whole day. From lunch hour to dinner hour, parking is almost always packed. You can expect to spend up to 10min seeking parking during the worst hours of the day. Even the parking structure in the back isn't sufficient during rush hour. - The back alley that passes by the church is riddled with horrendous, tall speed bumps. Awful on your car's suspension. They need to smooth out those speed bumps. Better yet, remove them entirely. They're not needed. - Also, many entitled drivers in the parking lot. For example, when they're at a stop sign and you're driving through the intersection because you don't have a stop sign, they jut out and almost collide with you. And if you honk, both the driver and the passenger in the other car will freak out and make a face at you as if YOU'RE the weird one. It may be worth the investment and mental peace to seek lunch elsewhere. - The center parking spots of the parking structure smelled like old urine. Parking there is a lil secluded, but boy does it reek.
