Jennica, who polished my teeth was very friendly and clear about her assessment of my teeth. Then Dr. Mark did my teeth cleaning. My previous dentist always got the job done but it always hurt and was very stressful. Dr. Mark managed to get the job done, but also did it with WAY less pain and stress. He often verbally checked in with me during the process to make sure I was comfortable. Afterwards, he gave me his assessment, showed me the X-rays of my teeth, and answered questions I had. Genuinely impressed. After the assessment of my teeth today, and conversation about how to further maintain, they recommended a "deep cleaning." Firstly, the description of what a dental "deep cleaning" is honestly horrifying, but that can't be helped. But while normally I'd feel skeptical, because I hate people trying to upsell things to me I don't need, he showed me the exact anomalous areas on the x-rays that prompted the recommendation, and I could see it for myself. He explained it in layman's terms, answered my questions, and never put any pressure. Fantastic experience--the friendliness (without being overly so), the focus on my comfort and minimal pain/stress, and the clear discussions and answers to my questions... it all prompted me to even bother to writing this review immediately after my teeth cleaning.

Even though I was there for a whole two hours and endured some X-ray pain and prickling to my gums... it was good. I know a lot more about my teeth and learned that I have a cavity on my wisdom tooth. FML. But anyway, the service was EXCEPTIONAL. Loretta at the front desk was so helpful and friendly!!! Devorie, who was the lead assistant, was super awesome and kind. When she was taking my x-rays and stuffing the slides into my mouth, she made sure that I was comfortable and that I wasn't in too much pain, she was so thoughtful. I really liked her. Dr. Hsu was cool too, I asked him a lot of questions about my teeth and he was glad that I asked because people normally just want their teeth done and be done with everything. The fact that the all of the previous staff have left speaks volumes about him. In my first and only meeting with him, he was brusque and made treatment recommendations without even asking any questions about my dental history. My wife went there recently for a check-up, and he left her waiting for over an hour while working on another patient. She left without being treated and won't be going back.
