My husband and I recently purchased a fixer-upper. My husband is very handy, and can do most work, however he is one person , so we have dealt with quite a few contractors over the course of our home renovations. Right away when I contacted Northwoods Flooring the owner, Mark, showed superb customer service by coming by later that day to give me a free in home estimate. He provided a portfolio with all of the work he had done residentially and commercially. Everything was gorgeous! He also provided us with a very LONG list of references. His price was very reasonable and his work looked amazing so we decided to go with Northwoods flooring and we are thrilled we did!! We were on a budget so we decided to do all the demoing of our old floors ourselves. Mark was a great resource in helping us do this correctly and efficiently. He was always in communication and available to answer any questions we had (and we had a lot) :) Mark and his team worked very timely and professionally. The floors turned out BEAUTIFUL!!! He came in a couple of days to access the area and give us an estimate, then the next day he came by to test spot and sand a small area in our kitchen. Marc installed our wood flooring in the living/dining room . He had us spend $900.00 for materials that were not used. That we are stuck with . His response was it's better to have too much than not enough. Also he put up the the wrong color quarter round instead of matching shoe to our existing molding. When we asked him to please fix it and get the correct product and color he said he'd give us a price to do the work!! Terrible Terrible !! read more

As the previous review, Mark called back the same day I phoned, I was surprised because I called later in the day and he phoned me that evening. He came the next day to give us an estimate which was Saturday, and came to do the job on Monday. It was a small entry way refinish, which another company would not do because the job was too small. Mark and his helper that day Rich, were both on time, nice , quick and very easy too work with and have in my home. The job looks great and I would definitely have Mark come back when I am ready to refinish the rest of the floors. The response time and promptness along with the great job is why I gave 5 stars, not easy to find! read more

I called on a Saturday to get a quote and the owner answered the call right away. He was in the area and said he could stop by in 15 minutes. He gave me a quote for having some existing flooring refinished and also to add some new flooring in other rooms. Mark was extremely easy to work with and does a fantastic job. I have hired him to do 2 jobs for me in my house. First floor rework and installation of new floors and then just this past week installation of new floors on my second floor. He is very responsive, let's you know how the process is going to work - step by step - prior to his team coming to do their work. During the process,he also let's you know how the progress is going, timing, do's and don'ts and what is happening each day. He also followed up with me several times on making sure that the finishing part with carpets was completed and satisfactory to us. He has done a great job with the work that we have given him.
