A great experience from beginning to end! - - - - Our Movers: Cody Keegan - - - - The Booking Experience: My wife inquired about their services on an app the night before our move and Matt called within 5 minutes saying, "I see you all are trying to move tomorrow, so I figured I'd call right away!" We were able to get booked for their, get a quote, and get a crew locked in within 15 minutes. Matt was very helpful and informative about the services provided and the expected costs (which were very reasonable). He made sure to give a quote based upon what we actually had to move, as well as where we needed to move. - - - - The Moving Experience: As advertised, the crew called as soon as they were on the way to our location and gave an estimate of when they'd arrive. We were moving our things from a storage unit, and by the time they had arrived I already had a few boxes stacked and ready to be put on the truck. They weren't hesitant to get started right away (even though it randomly started raining). And made quick work of the boxes. While moving the remainder of the items, they were careful and quick. They were professional and even taught me a few tricks I could use for making future moves easier. I felt as though I didn't have to do any work, but I appreciate that they allowed me to help throughout the entire loading process. Side note: My wife had the car and the kids and they were already at the apartment. Rather than waiting on my wife to come pick me up, they allowed me to ride to the unload location with them! Saving us time and money!!! During the unloading process they were so fast I couldn't even keep up, I ended up just staying in the apartment and moving the boxes they brought in to the appropriate rooms. Most importantly, they were aware of our target budget and did their best to finish within the amount of time that met our financial goal! - - - - The Conclusion: I would hire this company again and again and again, and if its possible I'll ask for Cody and Keegan again as well. I just completed one of the largest moves in decades. I hired "Not a Hobby Moving Company" after an extensive search. Matt was by far the most diligent in preparing the estimate and offer a Veteran's Discount. On moving day, it took a Team of 6 movers and 3 large trucks to consolidate our two homes. The Team consisted of David, Eric, Andrew, Jimmy, Ryan, and Cody. These six guys are the hardest working, professional movers I've ever seen. They were prompt, efficient, diligent, courteous, and truly cared for our homes and belongings. They finished the job well under the time estimated; all while dodging rain. I can't say enough good things about this company, the management, and the Team that did all the heavy lifting. Although I hope I don't move again for many years, if I do, I am using "Not a Hobby Moving Company." Needless to say, I will be recommending them to friends and family. Let me start by saying I have used a variety of moving companies in Austin, having relocated multiple times over the last five years, and the experience I had with the boys from Not a Hobby was 2nd to none. From the moment the crew arrived I knew I was in good hands. Not only did they arrive on time but in incredibly high spirits, they were genuinely happy to be there. After a few moments I quickly realized this was no run of the mill moving company, these gentlemen were consummate professionals! Watching them gracefully load up the truck with all of my belongings gave me immense relief knowing my property was in good hands. Upon arrival at the new location, it was the same song and dance: efficiently and effectively unloading the truck and getting all of my stuff into the new apartment with no issues at all. On top of the move, it was pouring rain. The guys made a point to protect our belongings as best they could. They were punctual, professional, and handled all of my belongings with care. What really stood out was their attention to detail and positive attitude. I came to help my son move out of his apartment to another apartment close by and when I came to Austin, I realized it was too big a job for us. So I called several companies and also looked to online help (task bunny?). I immediately had my call returned by Matt at this business and he was open and quick to give me availability and price. It was a straightforward, no nonsense quote and he responded to all my subsequent concerns immediately. If that was good, the actual move was even better!! Andrew and KJ came early, called first with an ETA, and I couldn't have asked for a more professional, efficient move. This is the second time I used Not A Hobby and the second time I was amazed at the quality and professionalism of the moving teams. Booking couldn't have been easier and so reasonable. Not a single item was lost, broken or scratched. Everything was treated with such care and put anywhere I wanted. The team I had today was Cody, Chris and Chase and these poor guys had to haul their truck full of my belongings up 3 flights of stairs in 100 deg heat and couldn't have been nicer throughout the entire move. I had no idea who to use for my move, and Matt was friendly, answered my questions, and I knew I would hire them before I got the other three estimates. Andrew, Juan and Jesse were courteous, professional and fast. My grandkids were running around like I was feeding them sugar, and they were very friendly. I'm a hobbyist woodworker, and there was a LOT of wood and heavy equipment to move. They had no problem with any of it. I bought a new mattress, and they not only set up my very large bed, but they also unboxed and placed my mattress amongst the other things they had to move. the two guys i had went above and beyond. kept a consistent pace even though i had some tricky furniture and funky stairs to maneuver around but they had such a nice attitude the whole time. they were very accepting of any specific requests i had for moving my items. the only down side was that the actual move was a lot longer than what i was estimated. but even still they never had a sour attitude. i would probably book the service again next time i move if i got to have the same two guys read more

Andrew and Cody helped us load and unload perfectly and seamlessly into what I thought was going to be a tricky move due to parking. They had a great attitude, which is refreshing, and had great timing. They were thoughtful about not tracking the rain and elements into the home, and carrying everything, never dragging or letting things touch the ground. They moved us from our downtown Austin condo and storage unit to our new home outside the city. We have tons of "stuff" and lots of stairs, so it took a full 17hrs from start to finish!! But the crew we had lead by Nathan was great! They were so efficient and nice. We had no problems with them at all. The four guys we had even moved a 850lbs safe into our new home which was quite a feat!! Definitely recommend this loving company!! read more

I've used this company twice and they've been incredible both times! The movers are so kind and take extra good care of your belongings. Once at my destination they were very detail oriented with where to place all items and help set up furniture. They come prepared with all the tape, moving blankets etc. and a huge truck so only one trip was needed. So fast, so nice, very affordable. 10/10 would recommend. read more
