For some odd reason I was craving a desert from back home in Romania, a cremshnit, puff pastry dough with vanilla pudding and cream. A quick Google search highlighted Haleh and their Napoline cake which looked just like I wanted. I rushed over to get it, it was indeed similar, puff pastry and cream but no vanilla pudding and I feel like the lack of it made it taste pretty bland. I have a huge sweet tooth and I couldn't help but grab a slice of the nespresso roulette which didn't taste like anything. This is a very unique spot in Silicon Valley. Its rather small outside impression does not reflect the size and charm of the actual space. Once you're through the postage stamp-sized parking lot and the door, it unfolds like a treasure, with the actual shop where you can choose your delectable on the right, and spacious, comfortable seating going back and back on the left. The Persian pastries are a treat, and I highly recommend the cream puff. The cream inside is incredible, so incredible that I had to go back for a second. I paired this with the Persian tea and it was a great choice. It was flavorful but delicate and not overpowering. I was there with a group of women and the staff were so helpful and incredibly attentive to our needs. I later tried a curry turnover and it, too, was delicious! Great selection of pastries. We ordered a variety to try. Love the pistachio almond tart and the coconut cookie. The tart was soft in crust topped with healthy nuts with just a small light touch of caramel filling - which is great for those who are health conscious and trying to stay away from the typical rich and very sweet filling. They don't follow through with what they say. A few examples: 1) Hours of operation: many, many, many randomly closed days without a day notice to costumers due to workers randomly not showing up for work. 2) Food on menus are not available weeks at a time. They keep saying food will be served on weekends. But the past 3 weekends kept saying "sorry not today, next weekend" and when next weekend comes, again the same thing "sorry not today, next weekend". This makes me wonder if they are OKAY with lying to costumers. For sure they are OKAY with not sticking to their word. They need to keep in mind that business here IS NOT like the middle east where you say something and not follow through! Especially with TIME. Every minute counts in the united states. They need to stop falsely promising to costumers. Only 1 thing that I found good here was that they always make sure to serve you fresh food, beverages, or pastries. I hate to say this, but this place seriously overcharges. About a week ago, I bought 3 Iranian ice cream sandwiches for $8 each, while the exact same ones are only around $6 at other locations. The aleem was also disappointing--it was frozen, and once it defrosted, it was about 40% water. On top of that, it was priced at nearly $18 per pound, which is about double what other places charge. This place is a very quaint shop tucked in Campbell that you can go to for a nice kebab / wrap lunch or get absolutely floored by their selection of deserts . I mean literally was eating with my eyes and wanted to get so much more but that will be for another time for sure ahahah. The deserts look extremely decadent but the chocolate cake for example was so light and mildly sweet that I would say you could eat the whole thing and not feel Heavy or over sugared ., the texture of that oreo cake bar was something I've never had before in this style of desert. I will be coming back next time for their napoleons and mango mousse cake that I was eyeing without a doubt . Just an amazing first experience at Haleh under the new ownership!! I really enjoyed the individualized attention, a warm welcome by the female owner, and the beautiful authentic Persian setting. The cookies and pastries are authentic and taste great. We also had the sausage sand inch as well as the Persian herb and feta platter. Wish the Persian platter was a bit larger like many other restaurants. Other than that, it is the perfect place to hang out, dine with friends and have a relaxing and enjoyable time. Delicious! I definitely will be back! I came here for the first time as I needed some treats for a friend's gathering and I knew I wanted to bring Persian baked goods and found their business on Yelp. They're not too far from where I live so that's also a plus. When I walked in I was greeted by a young man who was very friendly. I bought an assortment of cookies and will definitely want to come back to try their other item plus breakfast. Visited the restaurant yesterday for lunch based on a friend recommendation. There were no other customers in the restaurant, and it took 40 minutes to bring our food. The sultani dish was the worse I've had in my entire life. The small portion of rice included with kabob was not cooked at all. This is a great hidden gym. They have pastries and cakes and unique beverages. They even have a little café. It's located next-door to the Dairy Queen and has limited parking. I don't throw around the phrase "life-changing pastry" lightly, but these cream puffs? I would absolutely ruin my own schedule, metabolism, and possibly dignity for them. This bakery is the kind of place that makes you question your priorities. Like, do I need to be productive today, or do I need to sit in my car with a box of cream puffs and experience true happiness? Tough call. We were all in need of a celebratory cake and wanted to do something different as opposed to the typical cakes you'd find just about anywhere. Be advised, if you're thinking this is just a little bakeshop offering sweets, you'd be just as surprised as I was to find out that the establishment offers an entire menu of brunch items, sandwiches, and coffee. This review is strictly related to the pasty and cakes department and man, do they have some amazing pastries!! Not only are they beautiful, they are delicious!! A coworker and I stopped by to see what Haleh had to offer and check out their cake assortments. We were immediately greeted by the lady whom I assume is the owner. She let us know that placing orders a few days in advance for a cake would be more than enough time. The lady continues to inform us that the cookies and bite sized pastries are sold by weight. We continue to chat about cake flavors, designs, and costs. Eventually, we decide on a rolette cake in a pistachio strawberry flavor [quote of cost provided]. The order of the cake was made via phone a few days later and the owner gave the okay to pay at the time of pick up. The day of pick up arrives but the cost of the purchase was more than quoted. Just a forewarning that cakes [or maybe just this kind] are also sold according to weight which increased the pricing. Definitely a miscommunication, nor was that listed on their cakes menu. Sweets: The cookies and pastries here are amazing from what I have tried. The Napoleon was light and sweetness was very balanced. The walnut pistachio tart was memorably delicious. The cake was beautiful when it came down to presentation. The baker went above with the use of fresh flowers that left our office in awe. The flavoring is where there was some disappointment- beyond the sprinkling of pistachios and the cake being decorated with slices of strawberries, there was no actual taste of these two ingredients in the cake itself. The filling was a whipped, light cream which wasn't overly sweet but would have been nice to have even the thinnest layer of strawberry or pistachio. 3 stars for the entire experience and and added star because the bite sized pastries are truly that good. This was the most disgusting food. 1. Not what was described, when I got home it smelled like crap. It looked like someone shot in a bowl and it tasted about as good. I called to complain was met with a bad attitude and an invitation for more of the trash they served me for 22$. The two pastries I took home were stale and tasted of cheap ingredients. Beautiful warm spring day and I decided to kickstart my outdoor spring gardening. I was driving down Winchester on my way to the garden store when I noticed a huge banner for Haleh pastry. I used to shop here and visited them several times during and after Covid in the hopes that they had reopened. So it was almost like a lovely spring surprise when I realized they had reopened. I stopped by and the signs indicated that they serve breakfast and sandwiches in addition to baked goods and pastries. Looks like they have a new management as well. They have a charming little outdoor patio seating area with lots of flowering plants. The setup makes for a nice date or tea with friends. They didn't have the assorted grab and go platter which I normally picked previously so I asked for a couple of cookies of each variety. The cookies are $24 per pound and my half box came up to ~0.5lb. They had some fresh bread for about $1 which I decided to try as well. I couldn't stop myself from trying the cookies as soon as I got into my car. First bite and I was in love. Truly melt in the mouth little pieces of perfection. Most were filled with jellies and jams. I hate jams after my tryst with the store bought preservative laden over processed varieties. But having tasted these I can see why jams can be delicious. I avoid sugar and these days anything I taste with sugar tastes horrible and cloyingly sweet to me. But not these, they just had a hint of sweetness. As of early August 2022 this shop seems to be closed off and google marks it as "temporarily closed". It's easy to see why as it doesn't seem like anybody is in or maintaining the space. Parking *would* normally be accessible with a small dedicated lot and they're situated right next to a Dairy Queen. Will happily update this if they're back open, but it's really quite hard to say what's going on without more context. Permanent or not, it's disappointing to arrive to find shuttered doors. Such a cute Persian place. This was our first time having brunch in this cafe and we loved it. The outdoor seating is so cute and cozy. They designed it like a traditional Persian restaurant. So I made it my mission this week to search for some delicious bakeries specialized in middle eastern pastries. I knocked off a star because they don't have any labels for the baked goods and you have no idea what they are unless you ask and I didn't know any of them lol I really didn't want to ask the nice gentleman what every single item was. Luckily I don't have any allergies and my stomach is like a garbage disposal. I just got whatever looked cute and delicious. The prices here are extremely fair and budget friendly, I got a bunch of items and it was only $13! All the cookies seem to be pretty similar in texture and taste, the only difference is the jams. When you take a bite they break apart and almost turn into dust and dry out your mouth quickly. Lol. I know my description isn't very appealing, but they have a good flavor of saffron, cardamon and pistachios. They are not the typical American style sweetness level, it's more mild and subtle even the jam filled ones are not too sweet. The coffee and pistachio roll cakes were not my favorite as the sponge was hard, I'd stick with the cookies. The cream puff was good but had soggy bottoms. I went at 6:30pm and they probably have sat in the fridge case all day. I've driven by Haleh Pastry for years and wondered what it's like, happy I finally stopped and took a peek.
