The location is on the lower floor of an office building. It has an adorable retro/vintage 70s Flower Child vibe. The ambiance was relaxing and inviting. Now on to the matters of caffeine. The espresso was perfect. Something we had not had since our arrival. Cortado was great, drip coffee was great, and their latte.... Let me tell you about their latte. I had a carrot cake with cream cheese cold foam. I asked for half the syrup. It was delicious, perfection, amazing. One day I had it hot, the next I had it iced, both were incredible. If I were guaranteed not to go into a sugar spiral, I would drink the cold foam straight. Now I'm preparing to go back tomorrow. Update: We came back two more times before we left NC. No regrets! We finally found an amazing coffee shop and that was important. Also, they make a fantastic Cloud Matcha AND they often watermelon seed milk aka MILKish. This is a game changer. The milk was tasty, with the tiniest but of sweetness, but no sugar or carbs. I don't know how they did it, but I'm here for it and on a mission to find MILKish here!

That particular day, I had a bad experience at another coffee shop after wasting money on an iced latte that was horrid. When I walked into Summit, I said to the barista, look I can't take another bad coffee, do I have to tell you I want it sweet in order to get an iced latte that isn't bitter? The barista took the time to speak with me regarding my experience and share how Summit makes their coffee and syrups. She even let me sample one. That resulted in a great experience as I purchased the enjoyable Birthday Cake Summit Special ($6.60). While this shop is far from my residence, I definitely will go back whenever I'm in the area.

It was a Saturday morning, I was anticipating a super crowded/busy place but the morning ended up being super sleepy. I brought a laptop to work on travel planning as my "craft." Super easy to park, connect to wifi and grab snacks and coffee from the wonderful barista. For a while, it was me, the barista, another gentleman (working solo) and two ladies catching up in one of the many tables to catch up at. When my friends arrived, we were able to push two tables together to have enough chairs and table space since people brought diamond paintings, cross stitch, and coloring workbooks to work on. It was a lovely time. A group of ladies did come in later and started playing mah jong. Toward the end of our meetup, folks were coming in with flowers, dresses, and tuxedos in preparation for a wedding happening later that day. Overall a great place to meetup. There's a nice group/conference room that looks like it could be reserved for larger parties, but most of the tables were for two people... three 4-tops and then a couple of other tables with more lounge chairs (for groups of 4). I have an older laptop so I'm stuck looking for power, there were a couple tables situated close to outlets and then a large wrap around bar in the center that I spied a few outlets but not all the seating had access to power.

I love the tropical/Colombian touches to the food offerings, and they were all delish! I especially enjoyed the empanada since it was served hot with a flaky crust and perfect amount of filling. Highly recommend coming in if you're in the area and looking for a caffeine + sweet treat boost!
