It is a common location for…read morethis type of house, but -needless to say- it is not easy to replace that furnace when the need comes. We decided to hire ATLAS for the job: the furnace was old, and the original roof ducting did a lousy job distributing the heat throughout the house. I was always cold even when the heat was "blasting". ATLAS did a thorough and patient analysis of our old system. They decided to double up the ducts to provide more air flow, and they also organized the flow inside the ducts: it worked. Frankly, the final cost was reasonable, considering the benefits I am getting from it. I particularly recommend Nick and Scott who supervised the project: they really looked into the project, then fixed the problem. Plus: the work was clean, and the communication great all along. Happy customer :-)

Top Level: Initial screw-up, great recovery…read more Atlas heating installed our furnace nearly 20 years ago and it has worked well until recently. We started having problems with it, so we had a technician come out to perform preventative maintenance. However, less than a week later, it died completely and I could not revive it. I called Atlas, thinking that I would be a priority for service, assuming they would stand behind their work. Instead I was told that I could not get scheduled for service until 5 days later, and the money I had spent on the maintenance was essentially forfeit, as I would receive no credit towards the repairs. Instead, I went with a different company that diagnosed and repaired the problem two days later. After the rather disappointing interaction with Atlas, the owner called and was mortified at how I was treated. She was extremely apologetic and offered to not only refund the cost of the preventative maintenance, but tried to give me even more money for the poor handling of my case. While I did accept the refund, I did not think it fair to take more money. We parted on good terms and when it comes time to replace my furnace (in the near future), Atlas will definitely be part of the process. I would leave five stars, but have to deduct one for the initial poor handling of my case.

Interviewed 5 companies for our project, super glad we went with Spot Free. We have a single story,…read moreabout 2600sqft home, with floor vents for forced heating. The gas furnace was about 25 years old and rated for a 1000 sqft home and the ductwork under the house was ripped and torn. Our house wasn't heating, our gas bill was $400 a month alone. Instead of trying to fix the current system, we wanted to upgrade to AC/heat and modernize with ceiling vents. We landed on a hybrid system: 4 ton variable heat pump outside, a backup gas furnace in the attic, whole house filter, 2 zones for the house because of our layout with two gen 4 nest thermostats, r8 ductwork, 15 ceiling vents, 2 air intakes, and all the permits. Their quote included a 3 year warranty on labor, whereas the other 4 companies were only 1 year. Nice bonus perk. The project took 5 full days to complete, and they are coming back Monday for a partial day for final touch ups. Anson came by same day and walked through the property with me, getting the full picture of what we would need. He literally drew everything out, saying it's very important that I understand what is going on because it is permanent. Anson cleared up a ton of questions I had. We talked over vent location, system size, zoning, equipment, everything. He took his time and was very patient. The quote he gave was very competitive to the other 4 I received. I decided on Spot Free because of Anson's care in explanations, his patience and detail, their quality of yelp reviews, the labor warranty and finally their price. I kept the contract though because of Jamie lol she is such a sweetheart. One of the other companies, bigger named and 2k+ reviews offered to price match, but I loved Jamie so much, as well as Anson was so quick to answer my questions over text, and the labor warranty was better. Decided to stay with them even with the price match, although that was very generous of the other company to do. The install itself went super smoothly. Brandon was the lead communicator with us on the project. He, and the whole team, did an amazing job! I felt like he kept us in the loop about everything important, in a non-invasive way, we got the vents mostly where we wanted them (beams/structure dependent), and we could still live in the house mostly uninterrupted with what I felt was still a ton of privacy given the scope and nature of the work. Honestly didn't even notice they were here for the most part, my husband and dad napped through most of the noise lol! The amount of care the team had for our belongings was also very impressive, and noted. They covered everything with plastic sheets, including stuff in our garage like our stroller. That attention to detail was super kind! They also fully cleaned up after themselves every day! Vacuumed, swept, taped up the work in progress vents, removed sheeting, etc. They were also all super careful to keep doors closed, we have 2 cats and I never worried they would be let out. It was a pleasure having the team here! The vents look super clean! Very well done. The thermostats work great, Brandon helped get them set up on our phones in the google home app and patiently, after what I know to be a long day, taught us the various settings so we could get started and ensured all parts of the system were working, much appreciated! We have heat! This is excellent! And the system is so so so quiet! It's just night one after install, but the whole house is an even temperature. Looking forward to playing with the app and sensors to fine tune our comfort here, but it's so easy and it just works so far! I'm super excited for summer, to test the AC out. I'm also looking forward to our next PGE bill, to see if maybe we are saving money lol! Spot Free HVAC is 10/10, wonderful company and people!

Very easy to communicate with and book a quote. I received 3 quotes for our HVAC work:…read more- Spot Free: $21K - Vendor we used: $23K - Another vendor who we used before and were happy with but increased their pricing recently: $32K We decided not to go with Spot Free for 2 reasons. First, the heat pump brand was changed in the quote to one that we did not want (Carrier). We were replacing it due to leakage of carbon monoxide. This is obviously a safety concern for us, but also a peace of mind issue. We had discussed using Carrier at the site visit, but I was adamant to avoid it. Second, Brook mentioned that there was a manufacturer's recall on our existing 1-year old Mitsubishi heat pump (we have 2 zones with 2 separate units) and that we should pay him out of pocket to fix it. I was confused, because we received no information regarding a recall and typical costs associated with a recall are not paid by the customer. Furthermore, we hadn't experienced any issues and we're still within the warranty period from the manufacturer and installer. Brook said he had been processing a lot of recalls on units he installed and Mitsubishi was slow to send parts so it's easier to pay him directly for the repair. I contacted the original installer, who we had a very positive experience with initially, and they said there was no recall. I also looked online and couldn't find any information regarding a recall.

I originally was going to replace my outdoor ac unit…read more After meeting with them and reviewing my options, I opted to replace my existing AC and gas furnace with a new full electric heat pump system as gas furnaces are getting phased out in 2030 in California. The estimate appointment, equipment procurement , and install was a breeze with a quick turnaround. Angel (the owner) was very helpful, answered every single question I had, and work through the estimate with me to make sure it worked with my budget. Once the equipment was at their shop, it only took 1 day for them to get started and completed the job in only two days, on time and on budget! I truly recommend their services

The system passed all HERS inspections, but what really stood out was the duct leakage test: only ~4% leakage, which means about 96% of the air is being delivered into the home. For context, most homes lose 20-30% of air through leaks, and even many "good" installations only get down to 7-10%. Angel's results are better than code requirements and show true attention to detail. Angel was professional throughout, and his crew -- Julio and Felipe -- worked hard, were polite, and left the work area clean each day. We can already feel the difference in comfort, and knowing the installation was done right gives us peace of mind. If you're looking for an HVAC team that delivers top efficiency, full code compliance, and workmanship above the industry standard, I highly recommend Angel and his team.

Later that evening, PG&E confirmed that our furnace had failed and was releasing carbon monoxide into our home. The next morning, I began calling HVAC contractors. None of the nine companies I contacted could help for at least a week. Fortunately, a friend from my daughter's school referred me to Jose. He answered on the second ring, immediately understood the issue, and told me his Vice President would be at my house within the hour. Just 30 minutes later, Rudy arrived and quickly confirmed the diagnosis with his equipment. Jose immediately recognized the urgency of the situation. Not only were we without heat in freezing temperatures, but our family was also at risk of further carbon monoxide exposure. By 5:00 p.m. that same day, Air Flow Pros had sourced and delivered a new furnace, assembled a six-person crew, and begun removing the old unit. By 8:00 p.m., the new furnace was professionally installed, the work area was spotless, and our home was once again warm and safe. The service was truly outstanding. Air Flow Pros delivered a high-quality product at a fair price and completed the entire job within eight hours of my initial call. I couldn't be happier and would recommend them without hesitation.

The new refrigerant line install looks very clean and inconspicuous against the side of the house (I couldn't even tell it was there without Jose sending me photos later on of where it was placed). The AC works like new, and the quote was very reasonable for the amount of work that was involved. Will definitely contact Air Flow Pros in the future for other jobs. Thanks Jose!
