This place warms my hands and my heart! Seated right on main street in Lewes and has so much charm as soon as you walk in! The wall to the left when you walk in is filled top to bottom with shelves lined with bags designed by disabled children that are filled with a huge variety of coffee bean flavors. Want to "try" them? The barista told us to open the bag and ruffle the beans while taking a deep breath and she was right, you can literally taste the flavor. The girls running the show are always so sweet and pleasant making your morning in Lewes just a little more special. We had a bit of a sweet tooth so I got the birthday cake croissant and he got a bacon egg and cheese sandwich. Both VERY good! It was a hard choice however because they have a big glassed-in selection of amazing pastries, making it very hard to choose! The coffee is self serve and they always have a fun flavor (ex. Fruity pebbles) which smells just like it! But they have the typical light to dark roast coffees as well. Definitely recommend. read more

The owner is a very charming lady and gets to know the customers well. I'm also really impressed with their blueberry scones, which has a texture like shortbread and not at all like those dry floury things you find in most coffee shops were you have to choke them down with lots of coffee. The scones also use a mixture of fresh and dried blueberries, which is really unique. Thumbs up for whoever came up with the recipe, because they thought exactly like me. Don't use tons of fresh fruit in scones, because they'll just leak all their juices out and make the scone soggy. I also love the diversity of coffee beans that they sell. They roast the beans themselves, and the beans are really high quality. Unfortunately, these people don't know how to brew coffee. All their coffees are pre-brewed and kept in a thermos. Bad. Their coffees are too weak as well. That's why I subtracted one star. Please learn how to brew coffee! Grind the beans fresh right when the customer orders and prepare it drip-coffee style. Sure, there is a bit more of a wait, but who's really in a rush in Lewes anyway? Do take my advice! read more

It smells wonderful in here. It's tiny and a little overwhelming. Menus or drinks and food options are scattered everywhere. Not a great place to sit in because it gets a little crowded. My brother ordered a piña colada-like drink. Notting special about it. My drink - hot Vanilla caramel dream. No coffee, just a hot vanilla drink. I like everything on the sweet side so I got a shot of caramel in it. Everyone I passed or stood next to stopped me to ask what I was drinking because the aroma was absolutely wonderful. The drink itself was like a dream come true. Such a perfect drink for a cool windy day. There was a huge machine in the middle of the store that looks like a roasting machine. Bags and bags (50lbs each?) laying around it. Made the store a little cramp. Not a great layout, when you get your drink, you go to the side where it is even more cramped to fix your coffee. I had a blackberry corn muffin, which was delicious, and the setup is cute, but the coffee was terrible and the service was worse. After having my order taken by an openly glowering teenager who couldn't manage a "hello", "thank you", or even a "go to hell", I was served the two Americanos I ordered in styrofoam cups (in a beach town?? Are they not at all worried about their immediate environment??) which were actually coffee with water in them. My boyfriend accurately described the drinks as "the kind of coffee you get for free after church". I do not recommend coming here. read more

Horrible service. They took our order and started making the drinks and didn't have you pay like everyone else until we were out of line and had already sat down. They didn't know how to handle the crowd and both the line and the wait was very long. The menu made little sense. The coffee is basically sour water. I ordered a latte and a smoothie and both were much too sweet and very watery. If you are a coffee shop, your coffee should taste good. The straws were too long and made it clumsy to drink. Also they need to distinguish the difference sizes more as my large was the size of a small fairy cup. Quite disappointed in this cafe and will never return unless I am looking for an extra long straw which kills turtles. read more

You'll find some nice sandwich-type options for lunch as well as a tempting array of baked goods--including the "Ooey-gooey," a sort of twisted, frosted, cinnamon roll. True, it is a little cramped considering how popular it is, and our one cinnamon roll was not 100% fresh. But it is still well worth a trip, simply because it's everything you want from a vacation spot: a charming little nook with friendly, helpful staff. Love this place. It is literally a hop skip and a jump away. Always very nice. It's the only coffee we really drink. We get whole bean flavored cause we have a grinder, I prefer fresh ground, think it tastes better. The Dutch shoes are such a treat! And would've got 5 stars but my favorite thing, sausage egg n cheese croissant I wish it had more egg n cheese on it. I do agree with the one review, that it seems to be a little cluttered, but I wouldn't let that deter you. Our group had the misfortune of arriving about 15 minutes before closing, so the staff warned us that they were running out of some types of coffee. We didn't think that would be a problem. I asked if I could order a single macchiato ( single shot of espresso with foam). No problem, I was told. I hung around the counter and when I saw the barista pulling a shot of espresso, I asked if she was preparing my macchiato -- "yes" was the response. I reminded her....."just the espresso, and a bit of foam -- no milk." When I got my cup, it was filled to the brim ( it should have had about 1 1/2 inches of substance in the cup) with lukewarm milky coffee, basically a lukewarm latte. By that time the cafe was getting close to closing time, and I had already witnessed some testy exchanges between other customers and the personnel, so I just let it go. I don't know or care much about cofffee. I get whatever is on the board and it is always loaded with chocolate and cream. I don't care. That's shameful, I know but the reason to come here is for the Ooey Gooey. It is some long, sweet bread with different types and textures of sweet toppings. It's a delicious mystery. Eat it on the beach with some jazzed up over-chocolated drink -- that is the Lewes experience. All other pastries we've had here have been wonderful too. When we arrived to the DE Shore on Good Friday we had some time to kill before we could check into our room so we headed to Lewes to check out the Tulip Festival and wanted something sweet to tide us over until lunch. I saw all the awesome reviews for Notting Hill so decided that would be our first stop. I got 3 pastries to share with hubby - an Ooey Gooey, a Lemon Curd and a Raspberry Pastry. I was taken a bit aback when I asked the lady behind the counter what an Ooey Gooey was and she responded with - just like it says (not really all that helpful considering ooey gooey certainly doesn't clarify what type of syrup gives it it's name) but whatever, I ordered it anyway. It really was quite delicious and so rich that hubby and I ended up snacking on it for the entire day. The other 2 pastries were okay but the 3 together certainly weren't worth the $10+ price tag. I'll stick to more people and wallet friendly establishments in the future. read more

The pastries are pretty good (the blueberry puffin muffin is actually incredible), the coffee is okay, but they need to figure out a better system. Maybe hire someone else to make the drinks, so the cashier isn't filling all of each order as it comes in? This was probably the WORST coffee I have ever had in my life. I'm actually not a big coffee drinker and definitely not good at differentiating between good and bad coffee. My friend and I ordered an iced deep dark choc mocha (I think that's what it was called). It came out looking watered down (a weird light brownish, gray color)and with, I assumed, small bits of dark choc at the bottom as a little something extra. When I took a sip, I was so confused as to what I was drinking. Once my friend had a sip of hers, she realized how horrible it was and further helped me realize that the drink definitely shouldn't have tasted like that (my friend can be a bit of a coffee snob so she knows her coffee a bit). The choc at the bottom was just a failed attempt of trying to melt it into the coffee to turn it into a mocha. We stepped out and continued to try to sip our drinks down, but finally just couldn't take it anymore because it tasted so bad so threw both in the trash. We spent $5 on each drink and even tipped (before we got our drinks of course). We were thinking about going back to get our money back, but just headed home flabbergasted. I deeply regret not going back to get our refund. I guess we were trying to be nice (which we shouldn't have). When I think back, I still can't believe just how bad the drinks were. read more

On our several visits to Nottinghill, we found it disorganized, cluttered and wanting in the customer service department. But this coffee shop-bakery nonetheless has its charm--especially because it's not a chain! It also turns out great sandwiches (often on fresh, house-baked bread), pastries (some of which are day+-old) and good coffee drinks. The prices are very reasonable. It's best for an afternoon coffee or a late lunch - the morning and lunchtime rushes make it a bit unpleasant. read more

They have a large coffee selection, but sometimes was cold coming out of the containers. Baked goods were very good as well. We have always loved Notting Hill for its great coffee and friendly staff. However, when we tried to open the door, we realized that the shop was closed.
