NGE has always responded quickly to any inquiry or request I've made, whether on the phone or through their website. The price has always been communicated up front and has always seemed fair to me. More importantly, NGE is focused on safety: Mike corrected a few installation issues the first time he saw the fireplace and they always check for and fix any leaks. Recently, I requested an appointment online and heard back within 24 hours that they had a time slot open for the next day between 10am and Noon. I confirmed the appointment and the NGE guys rolled into the driveway at 9:50 am. Wow! Great customer service and quality repair work. We submitted a request for service on NOVA Green Energy's website and in less than 24 hours, Mike had responded and arrived at our doorstop. He was very efficient and knowledgeable. We needed the receiver box on our gas logs replaced which he did, but he also spent a lot of time cleaning out the firebox, re-arranging the logs, and even let us film a video of him demonstrating how to turn the pilot light on and reset the box. I can't recommend Mike and Nova Green Energy enough. My gas fireplace wasn't working, and Mike was able to come out the next day (at least one of the places I checked didn't have appointments until April!) and take a look at it. When he identified that the problem was a broken valve, he told me he would check if he had it at his shop, and if he did, he'd be back that day. And that's what he did! So I didn't have to wait for another appointment and my fireplace was fixed right away. He also explained the proper operation of the fireplace in a manner that I understood. We were looking to install a new gas fireplace insert at our home and most of the companies we called were only willing to do it if we ordered the fireplace insert through them as well. I woke up to no heat Saturday morning 2/23/19. The temp in the house had dropped into the 50's overnight. The issue was the igniter to the gas supply in the furnace. Being it was the weekend my fear was that I was not going to get someone to come out until Monday and with an 85 y/o parent living in the residence I was already thinking I was going to need to pack her up and head to friends for the remainder of the weekend. After some Yelp research I stumbled on NOVA Green. I made one call, the tech was there in 20 minutes, fortunately with the part on hand and we were back up and running within an hour of placing the initial call. My husband bought our house in 2010 on a short sale and the fireplace had never worked...whoever built the house initially cut corners in a lot of areas and this was one. Over the years we'd paid two different fireplace service companies something like $200-300 to come look at the fireplace and tell us they couldn't do anything about it since they didn't install it. We were about to give up and just drop the $4k on a brand new fireplace and installation when NOVA Green Energy gave us a cheaper solution. I can't explain how they fixed it but they ended up fixing it and adding a much desired remote control feature for well below what we had anticipated spending. Mr. Celley arrived right on time and immediately went to work. He had our malfunctioning gas fireplace working in the span of just a few minutes, after quickly diagnosing the issue. He then fully serviced and cleaned the unit and fire box, diagnosed a minor leak (which he repaired), and replaced a faulty igniter. From the beginning to end of the service call he was upfront and open about what he was doing, explained costs, and provided a great explanation of operation and safety. The blower fan in our fireplace stopped turning on automatically (when the temperature reached a specific level inside the FP) in April 2019 after service by another FP company. That guy said the thermoswitch was broken and suggested we just turn the fan on and off by hand since that is cheaper. This was ridiculous. I told him to order the part. In November after months of him saying the part was on back order, I fired him and called another Electrical and FP company. That guy said the thermoswitch was broken said he would order the part. After 3 months, he still had not received a part and I called NOVA Green Energy based upon terrific recommendations in www.Nextdoor.com. Mike (?) came out in 3 days, brought a replacement thermoswitch and serviced the FP. He found that the other service guys had moved the blower fan out of proper position so that the thermoswitch couldn't detect the temperature of the FP. He moved it back where it should be and the blower fan now works perfectly! He didn't install a new thermoswitch, which is a great testament to his honesty. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! I rarely give full star reviews. But richly deserved after receiving the fastest response for service EVER!!!! A big thunderstorm with very high winds hit around Wednesday evening on 8/17/16 that knocked our partial power to our house and of course our A/C unit was affected. Power company came and restored power to the street, but our A/C was still out. We have a dog and an 18 year old cat that we were very concerned about staying too long in the house without any A/C. My husband called Michael after work the next afternoon and he was at our house within MINUTES!!! Luckily for us, he was only 4 miles away. So glad he was able to accommodate us on such short notice! He was able to identify that we had a small part (can't remember what it was now) that was blown out from the sparking power lines. He was able to replace it right then and there and had our unit back and running again! And it was affordable! I was afraid we'd have to replace the whole unit since it's old. I believe he gave us a military discount as well. Michael was at our house for a total of less than an hour, which includes replacing the part. We've also used him for inspecting my mom's gas fireplace a couple of years ago and he was fabulous at that as well! We then recommended Mike to a friend of ours, who unfortunately had very bad experience with him. The next time I called to schedule Mike to inspect our fireplaces, he initially tried to send a relatively inexperienced assistant to do the inspections. I submitted my info on the NOVA Green Energy website on Saturday morning and I got a response within a couple hours. I asked about potentially replacing my 25+ year old type B vent gas fireplace with a new vent free fireplace, but Mike said that would be a lot of work, time, and money just to take out a perfectly good vented fireplace and put in a new one with no vent. Mike recommended a fireplace cleaning/inspection instead. It was about 5% of the cost of a new fireplace, so I went for it. Mike came out on Sunday (yes, the very next day, impressed yet?) and got straight to cleaning and inspecting the fireplace (we literally had a 15 second conversation before he went to work). It turns out the fireplace didn't have any major issues, it just needed a little TLC. Now it turns on and off without any trouble.
