Not only did they get me approved, they secured an APR nearly 10% lower than what I was offered from CarMax and Carvana. Joel (Sales) was incredible throughout the entire process. He even checked in on my deal on his day off and stayed involved the whole time to make sure everything went smoothly. What stood out the most was that he genuinely cared that I was comfortable with the financing -- not just that the deal got approved. He even helped arrange transportation so I could get from San Jose to pick up the vehicle 2.5 hours away. That level of effort is rare, especially on a used vehicle deal. Gino (Finance) also did an outstanding job. He secured the lowest rate I've been offered in years and even discounted a warranty so I could have coverage without stretching my budget. The entire finance process was transparent, honest, and completely pressure-free. The service department also delivered. The vehicle was fully taken care of and everything was handled professionally. After being dismissed by other dealerships, this team made me feel valued as a customer from start to finish. I drove over two hours to work with them, and it was absolutely worth it. Based on that confirmation, I rented a car and drove 50 minutes to the dealership. When I arrived, I waited about 20 minutes while Miguel searched for the vehicle. He then returned with someone who appeared to be a manager to inform me that the car was not on the lot and wouldn't arrive until Thursday. This is exactly the scenario I called ahead to avoid. What followed was even more frustrating. Rather than acknowledging the mistake and genuinely apologizing, Miguel's partner pivoted into a sales pitch about what a great "deal" the car was, as if I needed convincing. I was already there. He also mentioned he'd received five other calls about the vehicle, which raises an obvious question: if there's that much interest, how did he not know the car hadn't arrived yet? I will say there communication has been great. The thing that gets me is the add-ons of $2985, which was mentioned on CarGurus, and I was curious about. I don't necessarily understand these add-ons (in touch vp, clear shield, and nomad GM something) and why the customer should pay for them but they are there and someone (i guess) has to pay for it. I want to update my previous review. I was able to speak with Chevrolet Service to clarify the situation. The dealership has now inspected the truck and recharged the A/C system. They also added a dye to help detect any possible leak. They asked me to drive the truck for about two weeks and then bring it back so they can check where the leak might be and repair it. They told me they are committed to fixing the issue and making sure everything works properly. I appreciate their assistance and will provide another update once the repair process is completed . The response to my Chevrolet Suburban Navigation question was beyond lame. They attempted to collect a fee for $275 when a question could have been answered. They refused to answer a question about it, stating that it could be evaluated for $ 275. I asked if they carried up-dates or ARea maps similar to Lexus. Then they were going to make me pay $275.00 to answer why I only get Texas maps and not local Marin County Maps. Then they kept the vehicle overnight to calibrate the transmission which iam sure took no more than 1 hour maximum. We had an appointment for the morning and they unilaterally switched to 3:00 pm. But the finance guy Gino was absolutely horrible to work with. I know it's their jobs to be pushy, but he is an all time low. I would never recommend Novato Chevrolet after my recent experience buying a 2025 Traverse last month! The day before signing, I declined any and all add-ons in writing, but the finance manager, Gino, told me they "couldn't be removed" because they were "already on the car" and in person he said that the dealership was "losing money." Later, I found that the contract itself listed both as optional, proving I was misled into paying $2,990 for two unnecessary add-ons. To make it worse, one of those services was never performed, and their own website listed lower prices than what I was charged. I sent a formal refund demand with proof, but they've completely ignored me. This is deceptive and unfair business conduct, violating California Vehicle Code §§11713.1(e) and 11713.19. I'll be reporting this to the California DMV Investigations Division, the Attorney General's Consumer Protection Section, and the FTC. My lawyer is ready to take action as well! Just like the last person mentioned, I should of read the one star reviews and not gone there to buy my new 2025 Travers. I was also told by the sales manager that because of the great price they offer ($2k off), that they were loosing money so he put two papers in front of me with add ons that the vehicle came with and to choose one. In order to safe money, I choose the cheapest one ($1k) for scratch and paint protection. When I looked at the other document I noticed that he was charging about $600 for this extra add on, so I asked him why he was charging more ($1k) on the document he gave me. He just gave me a bunch of BS and said because they were loosing money. He never mentioned that I had a choice to decline it he just gave it to me. Next came the issues with the car. I traveled to San Diego so I was going 75-80 miles an hour. The Vehicle started jerking/hesitating. I took the vehicle to the dealership to be checked. I was called another day and was told that they could not legally drive the vehicle at that speed to replicate the issue and asked me to go drive it. I agreed and drove one hour to get to the dealership, only to be told by the sales manager that his technician could not go with me because they needed him in the shop. So I just took the vehicle back. Lastly, I purchased the maintenance plan which I thought was a good thing. I specifically asked the finance person who was helping me if I could take the vehicle to any dealership with that plan and if it would be covered. He said yes. I took it to another dealership for regular maintenance and was told that the plan usually does not cover all cost because they didn't sell me the plan and that I would have to pay the differences. The sell overall was aggressive, hard, and unrelenting. I needed time to think about the car and the price, told the salesperson so several times --I tried to leave 4 times before I finally disregarded he and his manager's attempts to make me stay. They asked questions and made comments that were none of their business. It was a bullying experience in the end - so if they have what you want and you are willing to deal with the above, be ready to go toe-to-toe to them and not pay more than you are willing to. My wife and I went to Novato Chevrolet to look at used Chevy Bolts. Marco, the sales person, was one of the most knowledgeable salesman I had ever encountered. He knew everything about the car that we were looking at. And there wasn't a single question he couldn't answer. So I have no issue with Marco. But I have a major issues with the policies of Novato Chevrolet. When we tried to buy the car, The dealership told us we had to pay for a bunch of aftermarket stuff that we didn't want, totaling nearly $3,000. When I told them that was not included in the advertised price, they said that it was in the disclosures, which ended up being a tiny link near the bottom of the ad on their website. Very deceptive! They also tried to tell us that that was standard practice across the industry, which is totally false. We ended up finding a Bolt at, of all places, San Francisco Toyota. San Francisco Toyota did not charge us any of that aftermarket nonsense. We were in and out of there in less than 2 hours. The only good thing that I can say about Novato Chevrolet is that they are local in case you are in need of a repair that needs to be done right away or else you run the risk of further damage and cost. I had as broken valve spring and when I asked what it would cost to replace them all I was quoted $9-10,000. I called 2 other Chevrolet dealers in the Bay Area and one quoted me $4,186 and the other quoted $3,135 which also included new plugs and plug wires. This is for the exact same repair with OEM parts. I spoke with the Assistant GM and he couldn't explain why there was such a cost difference. The Service Manager then got involved who gave an in depth description of what was all involved. And this was the second time they were significantly higher than other dealers for the same identical service. Bottom line, unless you have no other option take your care elsewhere or be prepared to pay too high a rep[air cost. read more

The only number I'd seen so far was for a $3,000 additional warranty the sales manager tried to push on me - on an electric car that was still under manufacturer warranty. He was very condescending when I politely declined that. Anyway, like I said, after waiting forever, my patience ran out and I decided to leave. They practically threw my keys at me and were very rude. "So we did all that for nothing!? You already shook my hand and said you wanted to buy the car!" A little communication and transparency would have gone a long way, and would have resulted in me purchasing their car and leaving happy. Instead, here we are. I just had the most frustrating experience with this dealership. I spoke with someone yesterday who informed me of some Bolts and their prices. Those prices were out of our budget, but he said he would get back to me as more were coming in. I got a text a couple of hours later from the dealership, so I assumed it was from the same person (my bad, I guess). I went back and forth, and was told there were two cars that may work. Long story short, we said no to a newer Bolt we had almost purchased with almost the exact same specs at what we thought was a higher price point. I was even told my dad, who lives in Novato, could drop by today with a deposit to hold the car. Today, I found out that I was actually talking to a bot (not disclosed) and they were "apologetic" that I received "the wrong information". I asked if they would be willing to match the price of the car we lost ($1,295 less than Novato's price) as the two cars were almost identical. They said no, which is fine as not many dealerships actually seem to care about people anymore. Twenty years ago, any decent manager would have realized such a glaring mess up would have necessitated a compromise. But not Novato. I just got finished being told they are "firm on the price" which they have overpriced because they think people buying Bolts care about a clear coat, door guards, or a tracking system when the car literally has OnStar. They refused to admit their AI system is flawed, and took no accountability that their mistakes cost us a newer and cheaper car. Their website sucks, which should have been a red flag, but as I dealt with someone on the phone I didn't see how bad it was until today. Don't buy a car here. $1,295 is nothing for a dealership to try to make things right. Novato - don't you dare have your bot or even a real person reply to this review. I was told if I wanted the 0% I was going to loose incentive $$$ offered by the dealership. I did receive an OTD price on paper from Adam. That was also a lie. It changed when I went to purchase the can through the "dealer add-ons" that previously were no disclosed. I have never had a worse experience with buying a car. Joe was a rude sleaze bag who jacked up the price for me and when I questioned him on it he stopped corresponding with me. I texted him regarding the previous OTD agreed upon price and was told via text "not going to happen". I hope everyone reads these 1start reviews before going to this dealership. they are truly as sleazy as it gets when it comes to dishonest sale practices. The only thing i can say that come of this interaction that was good was me doing more research the day I was going in to buy the truck because I could not bring myself to buy from them. I looked on line and found a brand new 26' DCLB Tundra from Walnut Creek Toyota for 1K more than the MSRP of the 1500 WT single cab. Zero stars actually. The salesman was nice and we thought we had a good rapport. Once it was put in the hands of the manager, things went south quickly. As some other reviews mentioned, they added a couple of thousand dollars worth of add-ons to the agreed-upon price: They were asking us to pay for a tracking device that is a Dealer Inventory tracking device which is to help dealers manage their inventory, and for which we had no use (over $1,000). I have heard that dealers will sell this information and make it available to insurance companies. Then they wanted to add a clear coat product (over $500), and finally a Ceramic paint treatment (for over 1200). We said we didn't want any of these items. Their response was that we had to have them. These costs of these items were not included when we tested the car --- you only find out about them after you've said you want the car and then they spring them on you. The costs are mentioned on the website if you happen to see a very small link to an unspecified disclaimer which brings you a hidden pop-up window that talks about them. It says the listed price does not include these costs, but does not state that they are mandatory. What attests more strongly to hidden costs than a hidden window they hope nobody will see? If they are not optional, why aren't they included in the listed price? So this is classic bait-and-switch. They finally said we could have those items removed if we let them finance the car (we were paying cash). We said no to that. Then they said they could take the items off if we paid for them anyway??? So our takeway: We are dealing with other companies. Prior to even going to the lot, we are telling them we do not want any tracking devices or any dealer added options at all, and we are asking for an out-the-door price to include taxes, title, registration and document prep fees. Our offer is subject to having the car inspected by our mechanic. If we don't get that, we won't even go to the lot. One dealer has already provided that very quickly, so we believe they are being transparent. Stay away from Novato Chevrolet if you value integrity, honesty, and transparency in pricing. read more

It's about time I reviewed this dealership. I purchased two Sparks (I will explain later) and took my cousin in recently and she got the third. This may sound a little unusual but I walked in and saw John Eggers who does the financial portion ( I literally searched for his card the night before and contacted him via email) and was relieved THEN I saw that my salesman John Murcia was back working there and I was so happy! I knew my cousin was going to find a car that was right for her. First she test drove a 2020 Sonic that what white with a black Chevy logo, super cool. The seats were a really cool dark cloth with red stitching. It drove very well and has all the cool tech. Next we drove the Spark (gasoline model) as I knew, she loved it! She had a great time driving it. When we got back to the dealership it was not an easy choice as both were great. She chose the Spark because it's smaller and more fuel efficient. Plus it came in the color and features she wanted. Plus it is safe and built well. It has all the features more expensive cars do. Never had so much fun buying a car!
