Penne Al Pesto: Bland, tasteless,oily. Guacamole salad: chicken salad with guacamole,nothing much to screw up. The food was really good...eventually. We started with drinks that were delivered amazingly quickly. Our server quickly followed with a basket of bread. Microwaved then cooled, it was hard as a rock. Figuring this was a just a fluke we ordered dinner beginning with 2 salads. I ordered a house salad, dressing on the side. My companion ordered a caprese with no balsamic vinegar. Both salads arrived covered in dressing and after 10 minutes or so we were able to flag down someone to send our server over and our properly prepared salads arrived. Next came our entrees: Crab ravioli and shrimp in a saffron cream sauce that was just amazing, and a skirt steak and mashed potatoes. The steak was cooked perfectly and the flavor was wonderful. The potatoes, however, were ice cold. Again we flag and we wait. The potatoes were replaced by warmer (but still not hot) ones and we finished our dinner. At 10:30 when we left they were still seating parties for dinner. It was really busy and seemed surprisingly unorganized for a well established restaurant. Went to have some very craved argentinian meat with family. We had been recommended by some friends about Novecento so decided to give it a try :) We were happily amazed at the very argentinian style menu and beef cuts, so we all ordered different versions of meat. It was flavorful and tender meat, I don't give it a 5star because the meat was a little overcooked for all dishes and both rice and salad that comes as sides were not condimented properly making both bland. I recommend it for meat lovers, but stay away from the rice and get extra dressing on the salad. The service was great though! Excelent and friendly staff!!!! read more

Part of a small chain, I delayed a visit to Novecento for a while having sampled Novecento's fare on Brickell. The chain places a great deal of emphasis on trendiness. As for this location: good, but not great. I've found the service to be erratic - and once, downright pushy in terms of clearing tables so the next set of diners can be seated. I didn't appreciate being rushed in our group of five. On the plus side, there's a good wine list and the wine specials are usually well-chosen, affording you the chance to try vintages you might not find at your local shop. I went here with my friend, Augusto, and everything was perfection, so much so, I went every day I was visiting the Key. Normally restaurants have one thing they're known for, but any entree you order here feels like it is their best. The only hiccup was a delay in calamari rings coming out. they were excessively sorry about the mixup and gave it to us for no charge. I had to go back because I couldn't believe this place was really as bad as I experienced the last time. The good news is that the food was better this time. Roasted chicken was perfect and a lunch meat platter was very good and plentiful. On the down side the prices are still astronomical. I'd say everything is overpriced by a good 20%. I'd argue it's the best "going-out" restaurant on Key Biscayne. It's got a great lively vibe, very good bistro food and they do brunch. All of that makes me a happy camper. The sweetbreads are absolutely delicious (a must), though the portion size is pretty huge so make sure you're sharing. The tuna is amazing and seems to be very healthy. If healthy's not your thing, the Lomito sandwich is wonderful. Great South American-style fries. Solid Empanadas. Good Ceviche. Not so good plantains. I've been to the Novecento in Aventura and I love it! I went to the one is Biscayne just because I bought a Groupon but I will not go back. First of all we ordered the Picada Criolla and they charge $8!!! More to add them when in the Aventura one it's only $5. They also refused to bake the empanadas instead of frying them; I never had a problem asking for baked ones in Aventura. They also charged $7!!! Our server didn't give us a great service, I order a medium rare hamburger novecento, so, they mess up my order (they gave me a different burger), once I got my actual burger they gave me a medium well burger, the burger wasn't seasoned very well, probably the place is amazing but they mess up my order on my first visit so my judgement/ opinion was not very well this place, being a chef myself cooking a burger is not that hard, the cook or chef needs to learn their temps. We ordered food from this restaurant at 6:30pm for delivery...at 7:30pm we called to check on the food and were told it was on the way. At 8:40pm we called back, and were told they'd never received the order (despite the earlier promise the delivery was already on it's way)...after another 10 minutes on the phone they magically found the order, but hadn't actually started making it. We cancelled the order and still got charged, so will now have to work it out with the credit card company...don't ever order online, or trust the staff. It is just absolutely delicious!!! My family was pleasantly surprise by this place that really makes you feel at home and it is right next to the beach; making it the perfect family oriented spot without having to take a flight out of Miami. We stopped by yesterday after the beach and from taking our little one trick or treating and felt like having some Argentine cuisine which always reminds my husband of home. Oh my Goodness! we started with the octopus salad, it is to die for. My husband had the grilled rib eye steak, so juicy. I had the gnocchi gratinado, it is a must try, you can really tell this is homemade pasta. To finish it off we had the home warming "panqueques de dulce de leche", mouthwatering and all accommodating my little one needs through the entire experience. We tried their wines and couldn't be better paired and selected. My congratulations to the administration for getting it all right! I would probably list this as one of the top three restaurants of Key Biscayne. If you are looking for a sit down restaurant with a nice environment then this is the place for you. This restaurant is usually full, so always make a reservation. I would recommend their steak, milanesa, and their delicious empanadas. Sometimes the food takes a little long in arriving, but I don't blame them because of how full the place gets. As this is an Argentinian restaurant, I highly recommend going to watch football (the real football not the American crap) and rugby because it offers one of the best experiences. During these matches, the restaurant goes crazy, so if you're looking for a nice and quiet meal then make sure that there aren't any important games going on. The prices are fair, and their desserts are great. This place is a must go. read more

Not crazy about the "provoleta" because it is soft. I am hoping they improve it! Sodas are tiny, therefore you end up having two. The fish is very good. Mojitos are delicious! Novecento is probably the best family restaurant in the entire Key though it's almost always full, and for good reason. The food here is great and the service is pretty good. I go to Novecento quite often and it's always a great experience for both me and my family. The entraña, the empanadas, and the raviolis are spectacular. I try to order new things all the time but I can't help but order my favorites sometimes because they're just so good. The sweet breads are some of the best I've ever had and remind me of traveling in BsAs. They have an excellent wine selection and the owner used to manage the Novecento on Brickell. This place was delicious but the waitstaff is sketchy. They overcharged us for every item on our receipt and gave no explanation. When we brought it up they simply said "we will correct it". We are pretty certain they put in whatever they want to earn higher tips because the population here just throws their cards down without noticing what they were charged due to this being a nice neighborhood.
