Showed up without a reservation but they were able to seat in 20 minutes. The view over the Noyo river is gorgeous. So far the worst part is after 60 minutes waiting for our dood we were told the was a computer glitch and the didn't start our dinner! How does it take 60 min to figure this out? Everything we ordered from here was delicious! We ordered the ceviche, shrimp fettuccine, and grilled salmon. The ceviche was fresh and the tortilla chips tasted freshly made. One of the best meals I had while visiting Fort Bragg! We sat in the corner by the window overlooking the dock and water and it was a great view. We came around 5pm and it wasn't crowded at all. The service was friendly and quick. I had the crab fettuccine in a cream sauce and it was delicious! It was a bit tricky trying to find the place. You have to drive past most of the other places on Harbor Drive, and then you turn left into a lot that looks like it's for campers, but the restaurant is all the way down at the end. read more

Came on a Tuesday where almost all the restaurants around here are closed. I didn't know Monday and Tuesday are pretty much off days around these parts of the coast. Reallyyy wanted to like Noyo River Grill...even had them bookmarked for our recent visit to Fort Bragg as the reviews and pictures placed them high on my list for an anniversary getaway but alas they missed all the marks. First we called ahead to see if we had to make reservations to be told that they had a table for 2 with us being around the corner to come right over so we did...upon arrival the gal that hastily greeted us pointed at a table in the corner of the bar area that said you can sit there and will get to you when we can get to you. We reluctantly sat with another gal/runner coming over to quickly wipe down the table, hand us 2 menus and walk away. We watched as several other people came in after us without reservations to be seated after wiping down tables from prior guest that just left...get drinks, bread and EVEN waited on before us. By the time a waitress even acknowledge us I literally put on my jacket to say I was leaving...she apologized profusely...my husband starving asked me if I would give her and the place a chance...so we hesitantly stayed....MISTAKE!! We ordered the following: *House Lemonade & Bundaberg for our drinks - refreshing!! *Clam Chowder...that the waitress tried to serve the table next to us and then asked if we would like it...GAHH!! We accepted it and boy should that have been put back in the can...it lacked flavor even after putting salt and pepper on it...MEH at best. *1/2 Order Oysters Mignonette - they were fresh, small and tasty - plating lacked anything special in appearance *Combo Plate: 2pc. of Fish, Shrimp, Scallop with what appeared to be the remnants of the end of the bag of frozen french Fries and coleslaw that was just the cabbage with NOTHING to make it slaw...the winner of the combo plate was the fish but not to shocking as we were hopeful they were catching it from the bay. *House Green Salad with Prawns that was $20...size of a side salad with thinly cut tomatoes, shavings of carrots that both were scantily there...yes the prawns were gigantic but for $20 you should NOT be able to finish or share this Our server tried her best to make up for the aloof and unapologetic behavior of the staff upon our first arrival...she checked on us periodically to make sure we were doing okay, refills on drinks and the did you enjoy your meal/are you too full for one of our lovely desserts...she checked all the boxes...it's a shame that the food was MEH and the first shot out the gate left a bad taste in our mouth to say it's not somewhere that we would visit again. Even a broken window with a painted greeting on it was our view from the bar area...welp on to the next local grill. This restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating areas, the outdoor seating area offer a pretty nice sea view but can get windy. We chose to sit inside as it's less crowded. We ordered the ahi salad and fried squid as the appetizer, both were good out of outlet expectations because we thought it was a touristy place. Location was very nice, it was right next to the river with nice sunset views. A bit cold to sit outside but they had plastic sheets up to block the wind. The place is beautiful inside. The service was not great. The food was not that great either. My husband ordered the fish and chips & I got the burger & fries. The fries on both plates were pieces like the last little bit from the bottom of a bag. They were extra crispy because they were so small. The serving size wasn't bad. The fish was delicious. The burger was one of the worst burgers I have ever had. It was super salty. Not sure I will ever go again but maybe I'll give it another try. read more

We came here a little before Christmas for a family dinner. It was decent food, and the employees were very nice. We sat inside and they had a heater going to try to make the area comfortable but it was VERY cold inside. Most of us left our rain jackets on because of how cold it was. We ordered: Fried Calamari - pretty good, we really like the sweet and sour sauce but the calamari itself didn't seem fresh. Coconut Prawns- very large and tasted good Combo plate- large portions, scallops were middle sized and deep fried, the fish was nice and flaky but there was no seasoning so they were bland, battered shrimp were the best on the plate. We were in town for the weekend and stopped here today for lunch. We had clam chowder and the prawn/fish combo. The staff is nice, happy & smiling (always a plus) and they have outdoor seating overlooking the harbor (amazing). The chowder was good and came with good bread for dipping. The prawn/shrimp combo gets a mixed review. The seafood was very fresh and good but it was greasier than expected. I also wish there wasn't so much dill- it was in the seafood batter, tarter sauce & chowder! It's like dill is the universal herb. We liked this place when they were down in Noyo Harbor. The atmosphere is a bit cavernous. We sat on the lower level by the windows. Of course at night that is pointless can't see anything but the bridge lights. The lighting indoor was so bright( please dim them, they shine right in your eyes no matter which seat at the table!) it was not pleasing, along with being very cold inside, on a cool January night. I can see it being much better at sunset in the Spring or Fall. The food was decent though. Arugula Beet salad was very good and the Ribeye was flavorful, probably only about 8 Oz. Once you trim the fat off but the price was reasonable and we overall enjoyed it. The McNab Cabernet Sauvignon, meh but it was only $32 a bottle. The server was prompt and friendly. I would try this place again as the food is good but only if it was still light out for the view and had better esthetics. read more

What a bummer. They moved from the harbor to this "fancy" location. We've dined here before in the harbor and food/service was so much better. There is a smell like a cleaning agent that overtakes the entire place. The food is not at good as when they were in the harbor, And it's pricier. You can see the water during the day but if you go at night all you see if the reflection of the interior of the place. No water view. Very disappointed in the change. We come to Fort Bragg 4 times a year, always worked Noyo into schedule. Never again. Too bad - they really messed up a good thing that we have no interest in. read more

This is my second time at Noyo River Grill. The first visit was lunch at the old location down in the harbor next to the river. My friend had a "very good" ceviche and I had an excellent grilled eggplant sandwich. Tonight we had dinner at the new location, which used to be the Cliff House. The dining room looks out over the harbor and out to the ocean. Our server Jami was very good, conscientious, and observant. The clam chowder was excellent and unique as were the shrimp won ton. The fish and chips were very good. Like a lot of restaurants that focus on a wide range of meat and seafood, the quality of vegetables was ignored. The Caesar dressing was tasty, but the romaine was old and bitter, with bits of brown decay. The coleslaw was oily, limp and bland. There was the token vegetarian dish of pasta Alfredo. I'll try that next time, as I am not a keen meat eater. The homemade flan was very firm with not much syrup and sloppy whip cream. A few suggestions: The grilled eggplant sandwich from the lunch menu would make a nice dinner option for the non meat crowd and you could add a cup of clam chowder and charge dinner price. This by far was the worst food experience I've ever had at this restaurant. To be honest, this was probably the worst food I have ever had in my life. It was not only the main course or the appetizers it was the dressings it was the watered down clam chowder, literally every thing we ate had no flavor or tasted off. And off I mean, spoiled, or just not right. Nothing had flavor!! The cooks do not add seasoning to their food properly. The fried shrimp in the combo plate was ok, breading fell off the scallops, the fried fish was undercooked and slimy. The bread they had as a starter appetizer must have been left out in the open for a week before being served, very stale.
