Yes! Eat here! Superb personal friendly service! Yummy food, breakfast all day! A cute little store attached with local yummies. Fresh eggs, gluten free options. Reasonably-sized portions. Cheesy grits side sized portion was enough for me. The mango smoothie was refreshing and delicious! Fireplace for those cozy moments. Soft music playing. Support local business!

Cheesy grits special with scrambled eggs
    Matt P.

I stopped here for a quick breakfast with a friend while passing through Staunton. This restaurant doubles as a little country store that sells homemade jams, pickles, cookies, and other goodies. I ordered the cheesy grits special, which consisted of your choice of egg (I got scrambled) and bacon over a bowl of cheesy grits. The scrambled egg was okay but I felt like I could barely taste the cheese in the grits. The bacon was crispy but there were only three pieces that were on the smaller side. Perhaps I just didn't order the right thing this time. So while my food was a bit underwhelming, I had a great time talking with our waitress. She was super friendly and my friend and I loved talking with her about the area and sharing stories about where we had all come from. If you need a quick breakfast spot, check out Nu-Beginnings Farm.

Absolutely fabulous. This quiet community diner has all of the things that I love, welcoming staff, local food, and things that I can eat. I had the Hippy, sans toast. My eggs were cooked exactly as I ordered and everything was fresh. My daughter had the scones sampler, the lemon mint was her favorite. All of the scones came with cream, butter, and jam. This place is so good that I almost didn't want to share a review.

Sweet little local spot to grab coffee and breakfast! I met a girlfriend here for breakfast before we took our kids to the nearby park for a play date and had a wonderful experience. They have a nice clean family restroom for changing babies and the food was really yummy. Lavender scones and hot coffee were the perfect start to our day and the playground at Gypsy Hill Park did not disappoint.

Sitting here eating with my mother, super personable business, love the food, & John is always the kindest! Food is always fantastic, they took my favorite off he menu, but he was more than happy to make it for me anyways, thanks for the great service!

One word: Delicious. You can definitely tell the food is farm fresh. Staff was wonderful and very accommodating. Had the "Happy Hippie" w. Coffee and bf had the "Colonial Breakfast." While it's true that portions are not like what you'd get at an IHOP, that's kind of the point. It's healthy and a normal portion size. It was a bit tricky finding it - it's tucked in at the end of a strip type mall, which is across from a Howard Johnson. Biggest sign is for China House, which is next to it. Will definitely visit next time we're in Staunton :)

My family is vegan and we were on our way back from a skiing trip and looking for a suitable place to eat. We found this store on the way. It is really labeled as a Farm Store but they serve food. The store is located in a strip mall that is in what I would consider the downtown area. What I liked best is that they had daily specials, locals were coming in to get carry out dinners, and all of the food was local and some organic if I remember correctly. I cant recall what we ate but my family likes all of the local food, meat, honey, and desserts. The price was moderate and the meals were fairly good. What was best was the waitress/cashier who helped us. She was extremely nice and friendly to my family. We were all very tired and this was good food to cap off a skiing trip. One regret that I recall having is not trying their local branded coffee. I had already had a bunch of cups earlier in the day and it would have been overkill. However, the beans smelled good and I wanted to try it. If driving through, it is worth the lunch stop.

    Go. Now. :)

The Store is cozy and easy to miss, situated in a dinky strip mall by a Chinese takeout across from the HoJo. Don't be fooled--this is a great spot. Offerings include local (mostly) produce, meat, honey, baked goods, coffee, and tea.

Great food, great waitress, very small farm to table cafe.

I ordered the El Diablo Latte, and it was phenomenal. The cayenne and ancho brought a gentle warmth, the cinnamon and vanilla rounded it out, and the chocolate and espresso tied it all together beautifully. Spiced, smooth, and perfectly balanced. I also had a V60 pour-over of their seasonal Costa Rican single origin, and it was incredibly clean and expressive. I genuinely tasted the pomegranate and hibiscus notes, with a subtle cocoa finish. Bright without being sharp -- just a really well-executed cup. The triple ginger scone was the perfect pairing with the latte -- tender inside, lightly crisp outside, and warmly spiced without overpowering. Service was friendly and knowledgeable, the space was welcoming, and the quality across the board was top-tier. My only suggestion? Stickers. I'd absolutely put one on my laptop. Highly recommend.

I asked for the bagel to be sliced, which they did and then I was not given a knife so I had to ask again for a knife to spread the cream cheese. I then waited for an extended period of time for my latte, no there was not a line a of drinks to be made. The barista gave my drink away so I asked if my drink would be ready soon and she told me that someone must have taken it, she then promptly made the latte. The bagel was cold and dry, even with the cream cheese. The latte however was moderately enjoyable. Overall, I will not be returning.

But a customer inside kindly came out and said they were leaving, offering us their inside table. (There's also the beer garden outside in the back for seating, which looks like it would be nice and comfortable.) I got an everything bagel with hummus and tomato. My partner got everything bagel, scallion cream cheese, tomato ($0.85 for tomato) and lox ($6 for the lox). Although everything tasted good, we both noticed that the bagels were really, really dense, tough and chewy. Like uncomfortably tough and chewy. My partner left one half of their bagel uneaten and I didn't finish mine. It looked great and the hummus and cream cheese and other toppings were fine, but the bagel was really, really tough. I'd like to believe that it isn't because the bagels were stale, but the thought crossed my mind. The coffee I had (dark brew) was outstanding, served in a nice, large mug. Excellent! Service was efficient. I considered a four-star review because the coffee was outstanding, but the bagels were really disappointing. It's too bad. It looks like a cool place, but their main food item appears to be bagels. Maybe it was a one-off, but I spent over $26 for two bagels and one coffee, and I don't plan to come back to find out.

First, the good:…read more Micah's is awesome. Super friendly staff, quick service, reasonable prices, and a good selection of hot, cold, and blended coffee drinks. If you're looking for great service and not some disaffected non-binary socialist with blue hair, a gender studies degree, and an attitude problem, this place is for you. Now, the less good: The only reason I'm not giving these good people a five star rating is because...well...ya gotta know how to make a latte. Cafe latte is espresso, steamed milk, and a layer of foam (microfoam if you want to get super geeky technical about it). And, like the blessed Trinity, all three must be present in one in order to be true. A latte is NOT hot milk and espresso. And that's what I got today. And don't get me wrong, it was some tasty hot milk and espresso, but without the lovely layer of foam at the top, it's just not right. So I'm sipping my not-latte-latte and truly enjoying it, but I have a mild case of the sads because I'm missing the luxurious foam that really does make a difference in the overall experience. If you don't believe me, try making latte art in hot milk. So, please: go to Micah's! Enjoy their awesome team's excellent customer service and appreciate the rarity of such an experience in these modern times. But don't be surprised if your latte is not quite according to Hoyle.
