This might be the worst rental car service I have ever tried. Felt like a real scam. DO NOT rent from them. They were dishonest about their location (not in the airport), the shuttle ran very infrequently (30 minutes despite their promise that it comes every 15. Then I was told by customer service that I needed to take into account loading and unloading. Shouldn't THEY take that into account? I'm supposed to add to the 15 minutes a buffer?), and then the line took over half an hour before I got to the teller and discovered they were out of the grade of car I had rented. SCAMMERS!!! I would never use them again. Rented a vehicle in Salt Lake, City. I had prepaid on priceline in full. They needed a deposit for fuel charge only. I confirmed this verbally many times. They then charged my card over $400 with taxes, fees and insurance I had declined. Their customer service was not helpful. They removed some charges, but billed for23 gallons of gas when I returned it half full. They added numerous fees and taxes so that even after payin in full on priceline, I was charged another $120 for fuel and fees. I would give negative 5-stars if possible. read more

Please do not rent from this company, also known as ZEZGO my car had bald tires and on the 1st day of driving it I had a blowout. Thank god I was going slow and i didn't get hurt or hit anything. I called the company and they weren't interested in helping me all they cared about was me replacing the tire, after struggling to change the tire we finally made it home. Next day I took the car to Tires Plus they tested the tire and informed me it was a dangerous vehicle and return it asap. The car was in the shop for two days, I lost the cost of prepaid sunpass and the rental for those days. I also had no choice but to use uber. We went to return the car the next day and was shown 3 replacement choices, #1 smelled like mold, #2 had bald tires and #3 had a fender damage. I asked to please give me a safe car to drive and they up charged me $166.00. After many emails and phone calls i still have not received any kind of a response. Rentals in Phoenix, after the train ride to the car rental center, require you to walk half mile in 90 degree weather to go to a van that takes you OUTSIDE of Phoenix to actually get a car. (Good luck finding them on Maps to return the car). You are bullied into extra insurance coverage ("you will be charged $161/day for every day the car is out of use", when the original rental charge is around $35/day... where is the incentive for them to EVER fix the car when they earn 5 times the rental price to keep it out of service). They fail to inform you there are 50% additional surcharges for buying the insurance onsite and pre-paid fuel. No one in the lot speaks English (good luck if you have a question about the car.). Not only was I misled about where the pickup location was when booking I was charged for services I declined in the office when picking up my vehicle. You will need to take 2 shuttles to get there from Phoenix airport, adding about an hour to your commute to get wherever it is you are going. I thought I had gotten a really good deal on a car rental through Priceline. My $563 rental ended up costing me $1140. I paid in full the original cost before my trip. When I picked up my car I needed an additional driver and decided to also pay the $17/day I was quoted for 'loss damage waiver' for the car. Between those two things they ended up charging me $21/day for the quoted $17/day damage coverage and $12/day for the additional driver. OK - I'll let the extra $4/day on the driver charge go. Not worth fighging over. They also charged $12/day for possible toll charges whether I used them or not, (I didn't) and slipped in $10/day for glass/tire coverage. ????? On top of that was additional $213 dollars in AP surcharge, Rental Surcharge, Vehicle license, customer facility ($9.65 daily - are you kidding me? I was in the office one time for 20 minutes) and their 9.25% sales tax on the whole bit. The customer service people I have spoken with both before and after the trip were quite nice except that they did not have the ability to do anything to help me with the charges I should not have been charged. read more

Arrived at the location and was notified that the car I reserved was electric. Being in an unfamiliar city and traveling with disabilities I was uncomfortable seeing as I had never driven electric before. I asked for their cheapest gas vehicle and that was an upgrade. I agreed since I was assured it was a few dollars more. I prepaid $262.74 and the new total was supposed to be $281.41. I asked the agent if there were specific vehicles they rented for Service animals out of courtesy since I was traveling with one and I was given pushback on that. That should have been my first sign. There was a $300 hold plus the prepaid amount on my credit card that would be released when I returned the vehicle. no big, standard practice. I specifically asked the agent for clarification that my new total was the $281 and not an additional charge to the $262. I was assured it wasn't and I initialed the contract. Now they have charged me the $281 on top of the $262 and state I signed for it so theres nothing they can do. Very predatory and unethical. read more

Dangerous, illegitimate business. I was a single woman traveling alone and attempted to rent car at Charlotte N.C. airport. After waiting 30 minutes to be picked up at the airport I paid a taxi to the off airport location. I was dropped at a nearly vacant building in an industrial park. To my shock, there were only virtual agents. A guy was sitting on the one bench in the vacant room and said h'd been waiting 45 minutes to speak to a virtual agent. I waited 90 minutes. By the time I got to a screen I was told that I missed my appt (they had no more cars in reality) and was told that I may not get a refund. I had to pay my own taxi back to the airport ($50 in taxis round trip). Luckily I was able to book a car for just $75 more with budget in less than 10 minutes. BUT I missed the event that I had traveled there for. Travelocity refunded my entire Nu Car reservation and paid the taxi fare. Bringing women to vacant buildings is not ok. We rented a car in Charlotte, North Carolina and it was by far the worst car rental experience we have ever had. Looking at the other reviews, which are all terrible, our review won't make any difference, but here it is. When we arrived and called the number for the shuttle I was told I had to text a copy of my drivers license, proof of insurance and credit card, which a did against my better judgement. After doing this they would not answer the phone after several tries. I called Travelocity, where I made the reservation, and they also tried, to no avail. They just told me to take a cab to the location, which we did. The person on site told me he did not provide service, other than to release keys when he was told to, but he made a call and an agent finally called us back. I was told to text my documents again. The whole ordeal took about three hours, and we were not alone. There were several other angry people there having a similar experience. DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM THIS COMPANY! read more

I rented a car In North Carolina. I read the reviews while at the airport and was petrified about what I got myself into. You call the company when you arrive at the airport and they send a shuttle they say 10 minutes but mine took 30 .no big deal. then they take you about 10 minutes away to a building where you do the actual rental but you basically are walking into an abandoned building. there's not a person in sight only computer monitor screens that you walk up to and do a virtual transaction. New experience, but not a dealbreaker. Unfortunately the Internet froze and all of us rental people stood around saying "OK now what do we do ?then like the Wizard of Oz someone appeared from behind the door and finished the transaction. They give you a number and tell you that's where your keys are and you open the box and when you ask where is the car is they said just stand in the parking lot and hit the button and listen for where the car is parked, lol OK still not terrible. We got a brand new car with only 300 miles on it, the return went smoothly with the shuttle bus there when we arrived ( also it was 9am when they opened) so I can't really say anything was bad just different. The only thing it took two weeks for the pending security deposit of $350 to leave my credit card. Overall, though I think I would do it again. read more

I was outraged because this was not stated prior to rental. I refused to pay and asked for a refund. Orbitz should not do business with this company. I tried to dispute the charge, but could not get my money back because of the fine print that says they do not give refunds. Spent three days trying to contact someone but no one answered their phone and they did not respond to emails. When I finally got hold of someone the day before my flight, I was told it was non refundable if I cancelled. I went through Priceline to arrange the rental. I thought I was getting a great deal until I arrived to pick up the car. They are not at the airport, instead, you need to take a shuttle to their establishment. Additionally, I needed to add an additional driver at $17/ per day for 8 days. Then They asked me to pay additional insurance at $20/day EVEN THOUGH I USED MY OWN CAR INSURANCE. All in I paid around $1200. Moreover, the Jeep Compass broke down while on the highway! a 2021 truck? The replacement car (Nissan) was FILTHY, noisy and too small for us. We could not afford to get a sun pass since the rental turned out to be so expensive. They ask for $14.95/day EVENTHOUGH YOU do DON'T USE IT. Their attitude leaves a lot to be desired and I was disappointed with how they handled the problem with the car. NO apologies or anything. Never doing business again. I rented a car from them for my vacation in Costa Rica and when I arrived the rental office was a damaged shack where the rental agent sat on a folding chair in front of a snack table. I should have run at that point! Then when I presented him with the rental paperwork he demanded that the policy was to pre-pay for insurance for the car, 4x the rental!!!! I told him that I was using my American Express which will cover the insurance and he refused to rent the car unless I paid the "ransom" for the car. I refused the rental and went to Dollar Rental Car and got the car WITHOUT the "required" extra insurance. DO NOT EVER use NU Car Rentals anywhere. I then disputed the charges with my credit card and am still battling 4 months later because Nu has a "no refund" policy; but I never took the car. I refuse to be strong armed into such a theft. This company needs new leadership and better customer service.
