This shop has a calendar, which says which items will be on sale throughout the week. No need to pay attention to the calendar because every time you go they are either out of stock or sold out. I tried to contact corporate offices and I still have not gotten a return phone call back. Wow...now I know why I should go elsewhere. Arrived on 1/18/24 around 6ish. First time, last time. Either this Budtender tended too much bud, or she was just completely clueless. Every item I inquired about items (5) she showed me the opposite. At one point she went to get something, and I thought she had died. I was standing there for five minutes before she returned, and get this, the customer next to me was also a Black woman, and instead of her paying attention to who she was assisting, she took the items I inquired about to the other Black woman. We both looked at one another and said in unison: "we all look alike"...of course, we look NOTHING alike, except we're both Black.... Needless to say, not a good feeling from this Nug, El Cerrito, CA. employee; a huge turn off, actually. Besides, there are myriad dispensaries I have to choose from who hire employees who know one customer from the next. This is why so many Black people get accused of crimes they never committed and end up in jail. Beware: So I asked for a 20g bag of a specific strain BUT the budtender Courtney decided to give me a different product that looked identical WITHOUT clearly stating it was a different product and sold it to me. All she did was softly mumble "this okay?" which I didn't understand was actually a completely different strain. Immediately after point of sale I noticed she sold me the wrong product. When I informed her this was the wrong strain she assumed a nasty attitude with me stating that there was "proof on video" that she showed me it was a different product and REFUSED to exchange the product leaving me with an expensive bag I did not want. A COMPETENT employee would have clearly stated "Sorry, we are currently out of the product you request, would you be interested in this alternative?" Obviously she didn't communicate clearly or else I would have understood but rather than simply admit her incompetence she became combative. She is an example of someone who, rather than just admit they did an incompetent job, acted like it was the fault of the customer. Nug itself is a solid store for the most part with decent deals but they need to vet their employees better. read more

I asked for a bag since I didn't think it appropriate to walk down the street with a fistful of product. She didn't have an appropriate size, just a really big bag that advertised the store! Horrible weed. I asked for sativa and I ended up with the most expensive weed and it was Indica. This was the help that I got. When I got home and smoked it, it tasted musty like mildew. But when it comes down to it, they have pretty good prices and product which is why I continue to come back.
