Stopped in since it was taken over by the folks at the Tammarack. Had an amazing dinner. The food was hot and flavorful. Really enjoyed the prime rib. It was cooked to perfection. I noticed the new decor it adds a fresh new look. The service was slow although not busy. We had to ask a few times for the check and boxes to go. Still not giving up on this place. The food made up ten fold. I will recommend this to anyone looking for a good breakfast and dinner spot.

Thanks to the entire crew at Hobeys for working on the Thanksgiving Holiday and making a full holiday meal that tasted great and didn't break the bank.

This is it! My 100th review! Grandpa took me to this place for dinner so I was quite intrigued to try it! One immediate issue that I had was that the restaurant was not tucked away further from the casino, so the smell of cigarette reached into here, and that was unpleasant. However, the service from the multiple waiters was pleasant as they checked on us, took our order quickly, and were all nice and friendly! I got the chicken fried steak! The accompanying veggies were, not good, they didn't taste very good and grandpa said they tasted burnt. The fries were rather bland, with little seasoning or flavor with it. Finally the steak, the steak was pretty good, it was well cooked and flavorful, though I wasn't much of a fan of the taste of the sauce with it, but I just wiped it aside! Overall, I would say the experience was rather mediocre, the service of the servers spoke louder than the food did. The food, while not terrible, is definitely not something I would come back for. If it wasn't for the fact that this was my 100th review, and that my grandfather was with me, nothing about this experience would have been all that enjoyable.

We ate at the coffee shop at hobeys for dinner, and I am so glad we did. My husband ordered a salad, and I ordered the pasta special. It was tortellini with some kind of lemon cream sauce with spinach and shrimp. It was so delicious. This is the sort of dish you order at La Strada or a steak house. This dish was phenomenal. Found out they have a new chef and he is trying new specials out. We'll thank you, because this one is a total winner. I hope they have this one again soon.

Welcome to Baldinis: Where the worst things happen…read more The only reason they are getting two stars is for the food. DO NOT COME HERE TO GAMBLE AT ALL COSTS. Period. I've been here at least 20 times and every single time they widdle down your money and you will leave with nothing you came in with. Slots are horrible, Keno never hits, not sure about video poker but I'd be willing to bet (with a much better chance at winning than if I were to bet anything here) that the poker is garbage too. Standard service, not anything to write home about. This is clearly a hang out spot for people that are already poor and Baldinis makes good and sure they stay that way. You know how you walk in a casino and hear or see lots of people hitting jackpots? Not this place. Just people chain smoking to calm their anxiety of getting robbed once again by the infamous Baldinis. Terrible casino. They will try and hook you with promotions but they are only to get you to show up and feel like you have a chance at winning something but you will indeed win nothing so save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. Of all the Casinos in Reno/Sparks the places that hit the hardest have proven time and again to be Sierra Sid's (right down the street on McCarran) and Peppermill. I've given this place too many chances to redeem themselves but I always walk out of here irritated. They don't even give you small wins on any of the machines to break you in at even or slightly above. Every machine is the same thing: win slightly less than you're betting to chase a dragon that does not exist. Food is notably priced but again that's the only reason I'm giving 2 stars. As a Casino this place is more than deserving of a full Zero Stars.

Pool is nice, needed a cleaning after the hella windy day blew debris in it nonstop. Life guards were attentive. Spa level had the kids arcade, bowling alley, shops and white rabbit theatre. To their credit, they arranged accommodations at another hotel, although it was not comparable to the one we had reserved. Wanting to give them another opportunity, we booked another stay this year. Unfortunately, the experience was even more disappointing. Our check-in was delayed until 5:00 p.m. because the room was not ready, despite the advertised 4:00 p.m. check-in time. Once we entered the room, we discovered the air conditioning was not functioning properly and the desk lamp was broken. We called for assistance at approximately 5:30 p.m. and again at 8:30 p.m. after no one responded. Someone finally arrived around 11:00 p.m., after we had already gone to bed. The lamp was replaced, but the air conditioning was never addressed during that visit. The following morning, we discovered the bathroom floor was soaked due to a leaking toilet. Maintenance confirmed the issue, placed towels on the floor, and returned later to repair it. During that visit, they were also able to fix the air conditioning. Later that morning, we found that one of the mugs in our room had not been properly cleaned. While this would normally be a minor issue, it became part of a pattern of poor housekeeping and maintenance. When we returned to our room that evening, we found another leak--this time water was coming from the ceiling. To make matters worse, my friend discovered blood stains on her comforter that had been concealed beneath the sheet. When we reported these issues to the front desk, there appeared to be no record of our previous maintenance requests or completed service calls, which was extremely concerning. A manager later offered us a $100 dining credit. While I appreciate the acknowledgment, I do not believe it adequately reflected the extent of the problems we encountered throughout our stay. Grand Sierra positions itself as one of Reno's premier hotels, and with that reputation comes an expectation of quality, cleanliness, and responsive service. Unfortunately, our experience fell well below those expectations. I hope management takes these concerns seriously because guests should not experience repeated maintenance failures, cleanliness issues, and communication breakdowns during what is supposed to be a relaxing stay.

I had went and asked if they could help me and little did I know these showers time out after like 30 minutes . I was told to go talk to the lady that was cleaning the showers . I did as I was instructed and this lady was awful right from the start to me from when telling her my situation . Very very rude , started yelling at me and she shockingly said, " I'm not gonna loose my job over some loser trying to get a free shower "!. I had my receipt (the proof ) in my hand and she refused to look at it . I ended up telling her what a rude unprofessional employee that she was , that just made her start yelling even more . This RUDE & INCONSIDERATE Employees name is AMANDA. I've never been treated so poorly at any public place in my life ! As I went back to the front to explain what had happened , the lady up front even tried to reason with Amanda to open up one of the showers but instead of being any kind of decent, rational individual she started to explain her side of the story which was all switched up and not the truth at all. I unfortunately didn't get the lady working as the cashier in the store that was very polite and tried to help me out with my situation but Thank You I used to love coming to Alamo/Petro especially when I needed to pay for a shower very very sad as I will never be coming back again for anything & I don't recommend it to others due to how I was treated also Its very unprofessional that it's not mandatory for their employees to be wearing their name tags on shift !

In the morning, we waited over 30 minutes while valet staff searched for another guest's lost key. Later that same evening, we ended up experiencing the exact same thing ourselves. The valet staff lost our key and it took over 20 minutes for them to locate it. They did not think to hire more staff for the busy Memorial Day weekend and the basketball/volleyball/adult softball tournaments that were going on in the area. The night before we had to leave our car halfway in the street because valet was so backed up. The guest service manager told us to leave it half away in the street. The next day the same manager blamed the desk agent for losing our key when they did the same thing in the morning when she wasn't there. Unfortunately, this caused us to be late to a magic show we were attending at Grand Sierra Resort. I understand mistakes can happen, but seeing the same issue happen multiple times in one day shows a serious lack of organization and professionalism. Valet should make the experience smoother, not create unnecessary stress and delays.
