Great poker room, lots of tables, cool chips. There's only one blind for the No Limit games. -Anthonyxibarrax

The 3-5 games are uncapped at Peppermill Reno.

I have played in just about every poker room in Nevada and the room at Peppermill is definitely the best. First off, the room itself is fantastic following the 2011 renovation. It's got 19 tables with over 30 TVs and always the best action in Reno. The Peppermill has also made a point to set the standard when it comes to rake. Over the last decade, they have constantly been the cheapest at the $5 blind level. A big part of the reason for this room's success is the staff. The room is led by former poker pro Mike Nelson, who is one of the hardest working and most progressive poker room managers you will fold. He is a big part of why Run it up Reno has become internationally known. The room is also managed by Rena Albertazzi and Cathi Wood, who do an amazing job handling the room's high volume of players and keeping the games running on a daily basis. The dealers are also great. Long time favorites like Brett, Len, Eric, and Stormy deal fast and make the atmosphere great. The games are best Thursday thru Sunday, but that doesn't mean those are the only days there will be action. Lately there have been games seven days a week.

I really like the whole casino but I think the poker room is the nicest in Reno. The room was very comfortable and a great atmosphere plus lots of promotions. I was there in the morning but a lot of games were getting sign up action. Plus the sports book was one of the nicest I've seen

The Peppermill recently finished a major upgrade to their previous poker room in time for the Heartland Poker Tour and Jennifer Harmon charity tournaments. The previous room felt a bit like a dungeon with lighting hand right above tables and was separated from the main casino floor by a 3 foot, curved rail. I appreciated the dim lighting, but hated the incursion of smoke that frequently accompanied the room and other noise from passersby. The new room is a real thing of beauty. I'm told that the owners did a study of some of the nicer Vegas poker rooms like the Venetian, Wynn and Aria in order to build a room similar to their high-fallutin standards. I'd say they succeeded. The new room is mostly enclosed by glass and includes a high stakes/tournament sub-area. With 19 tables, it is the largest poker room in the Reno-Sparks area. The room features expensive chairs (1000 each is the rumor, probably true), very high ceilings, many nice wood features, a shiny metallic red ceiling, numerous large screen TVs (including a massive one in the room's center), a high stakes/tournament sub-room in the back and nice compartmentalization away from cigarette smoke. Part of the initial opening hoopla and recent tournament traffic is in effect, so it's hard to tell what the eventual stable traffic levels will be, but for now it's the busiest room in town. (Opening day was Cinco de Mayo this year). The room features a beverage bar with coffee, tea and sodas as well as soup that is all self-serve and complimentary. Before the new room opening, the Peppermill had the best game variety in town. While many rooms only spread 1-2 no limit holdem, the Peppermill was spreading 2-4 limit, 3-6 limit, 6-12 limit and 15-30/20-40 limit as well as 1/2 no limit. They also had a regular HORSE and Razz games. Now you'll find 2-3 no limit added to the mix. I assume they get a stud game at times as well. The room isn't run efficiently and there are numerous delays and problems with their waiting list management, the biggest issue being that they realize that T-mobile text messages don't go through, yet they do little about it. I don't know, but I've been told that Verizon paid for a signal booster to be place in the Peppermill whereas T-mobile wanted the Peppermill to pay for the device and they wouldn't. Quality of dealers is worse than average for the area. Numerous mistakes have required me to closely watch dealers to make sure pots and bets are the correct amount AND that pots go to the correct person. I've found late on weekday nights (like 2-3 a.m.) 2 games of 1-2 no limit holdem and one game of 2-3 no limit holdem on more than one occasion. Not bad. I suspect the Peppermill is stealing some of the traffic from nearby Atlantis. I know they've gotten some traffic from the GSR poker room, but given GSR's far superior compensation, I can say that the GSR will probably get them back. There's also two nice lounge areas nearby screens displaying wait lists and table/game availabilities with overstuffed chairs and couches. I remain unimpressed with the competence and helpfulness of the floor staff. Standing around the main desk and being surprised by customers needing help or having difficulty helping two in succession with grace is not the way to run a room. You need to do better.

The Charlie Palmer Steakhouse serves up great plates, and there are other dining options that might suit your fancy. The casino floor is overflowing with a wide variety of slot machines and tables to suit your liking, and the cage cashiers are always friendly and ready to assist. You're strongly encouraged to check in through a mobile link, but once you arrive, you still end up standing in line to complete the process and/or get your room key, which defeats the purpose of the mobile check-in. My limited interactions with the staff, both by phone and in person, also left much to be desired. I didn't encounter much warmth, kindness, or even basic pleasantries, which made the overall experience feel less welcoming. My room was in the Sierra Tower. The room itself was decent and had the basics, but it was noticeably dusty and could have been cleaner. My bed wasn't even fully made. Just a flat sheet and comforter on the mattress. My phone poor service and although the hotel has WiFi, the connection is poor and unstable in certain areas There are multiple restaurants, bars, and lounges throughout the property, which is convenient, but unfortunately the food was mediocre at best. I also experienced multiple stomachaches during my stay, which certainly didn't help my impression of the dining options. Reno unfortunately appears to have a significant drug-related issue, and while this hotel seemed to be one of the nicer options in the area, the overall experience still wasn't enough to make me want to return. I don't see myself staying here again unless I absolutely have to. Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend this location.

He then stated they would "watch the video" to see what happened. Since the incident occurred inside our private room, we immediately asked what video he was referring to. He then denied making the statement and would not provide clarification. We were told the incident would be investigated, but since then our calls have not been returned and we have received no updates. The missing money is concerning, but the greater issue is the complete violation of our privacy and the lack of concern or communication afterward. Bed bugs, two room moves, and absolutely no mitigation plan!!!…read more I have never written a public review before, despite plenty of less than perfect experiences. I worked in the service industry for years and generally believe businesses deserve the opportunity to make things right. The Nugget had that opportunity and chose not to.. During our stay for Hot August Nights, we discovered bed bugs in room 1638. Security responded promptly, confirmed the issue, documented it, and moved us to room 2838. That replacement room had a long standing AC leak, saturated carpet, peeling wallpaper, and visible growth behind the wall covering. Engineering inspected it the next morning and told us we absolutely could not remain there. We were moved again, to room 1242. The frontline employees were kind, responsive, and genuinely helpful. Management was the problem. We repeatedly asked what the hotel could do to prevent us from carrying bed bugs into the next rooms or home with us. There was no laundry service, no heat treatment option, no containment procedure offered, and no written policy or protocol available when requested. We were allowed to move the same luggage and belongings from 1638 to 2838 and then to 1242 with no mitigation whatsoever. If we had picked up hitchhikers in the original room, we could easily have carried them through multiple hotel rooms and eventually home. We are now home and spending our own time laundering and heat treating our belongings because the property offered no assistance with this before our departure. Manager on Duty Cole Hughes was particularly disappointing. After initially avoiding speaking with us directly, he ultimately offered no meaningful assistance and told us, in substance, that once we left the property the problem would be ours. He then directed us back to Security, whose staff had already done far more to help us than management had. We requested management follow up in writing while we were still on property. No response. We requested information about what to do if we brought bed bugs home. No answer. We were told Risk Management would contact us in 7 to 15 business days. Before departure, I ultimately obtained the Risk Management phone number from Security myself. I called after returning home and left a message. This is what bothers me most: the Nugget responded to the rooms, but not to the guests. Moving us was necessary. It was not a complete response to a bed bug exposure. If this is what corporate ownership has turned guest service into, relocate, document, pass the customer to Risk Management, and wait for them to leave, it is incredibly disappointing. I am writing this because future guests should know: if you encounter bed bugs here, based on our experience, do not assume the property has a meaningful procedure in place to help prevent you from carrying them elsewhere or taking them home. Security and Engineering deserve credit. Management absolutely does not.

Standard service, not anything to write home about. This is clearly a hang out spot for people that are already poor and Baldinis makes good and sure they stay that way. You know how you walk in a casino and hear or see lots of people hitting jackpots? Not this place. Just people chain smoking to calm their anxiety of getting robbed once again by the infamous Baldinis. Terrible casino. They will try and hook you with promotions but they are only to get you to show up and feel like you have a chance at winning something but you will indeed win nothing so save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. Of all the Casinos in Reno/Sparks the places that hit the hardest have proven time and again to be Sierra Sid's (right down the street on McCarran) and Peppermill. They don't even give you small wins on any of the machines to break you in at even or slightly above. Every machine is the same thing: win slightly less than you're betting to chase a dragon that does not exist. Food is notably priced but again that's the only reason I'm giving 2 stars.
